Vocal Coach Reacts! Chris Stapleton - Sometimes I Cry (Live @ Bing Lounge)
Hey Guys!
So, EXO is up next I assure you, and it won't be too long before it's up, hopefully by tomorrow! I really had a blast listening to the guys too so I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Anyways, I'm just making these videos as I get the chance as I have a toddler running around the house and I'm reacting to all sorts of genres, so please bear with me!
Appreciate all the support so far!
Sam x
Yay! Looking forward to it!👏 And us EXO-Ls are not toxic! They're just excited and waiting😂
@@Jooyeonsponytails It's pretty clear you all have a lot of love for those guys! It's lovely to see, I'm just sad my new video got 4 dislikes before it had even been up for 3 minutes haha! :( Poor Mr Stapleton!
@@SSTVocalCoach *It's because they're underrated (EXO) and don't get enough attention so we feel bad because they're extremely talented yet so many people don't notice that, you'll see once you react to the video, but as for the dislikes, I liked it! It was a great Reaction so thank you!
Sam Scott Thorne react to his cover of This is a Man's World. Chris Stapleton voice is amazing it will just blow you out of this world.
@@SSTVocalCoach thanks for a great reaction, too bad some of your subscribers seem to be a bit 1-dimensional... music is so vast and varied, I've discovered so much amazing music since I recently started watching reaction videos.
I love watching people react to Chris Stapleton because let’s be serious, his voice is breathtaking and basically perfect.
Brilliant dynamic range...completely unhinged on the line "Sometimes I cry"...into no affect at all...almost a throwaway line in "I can't do nothing else"...works so perfectly. All while that jagged guitar riff hits like beating your fist on the table.
Bam
People THINK they're ready for his voice, they're not...
You have to check out the best vocalist from down under John Farnham singing the Beatles song "Help" live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. His vocals are crazy and he's an entertainer, the way he interacts with the crowd is awesome. John Farnham is an Aussie icon.
Me too he is something else and very different he can sing anything and it comes out badass
"I was wrong", and "Death row". Possibly even better
It's a rare performer that can truly carry a song with a single voice and one guitar. No backup, no enhancements, nothing.
Chris doesn't fit into any genre; he's his own genre. He definitely has country, soul, gospel and jazz influences. He's a once in a generation talent. I love seeing the look on someone's face the first time he hits those fried notes. You've only scratched the surface of his talent. He writes most of his own songs, as well as songs for other well known artists. He's been in the business as a songwriter for years, and has been in a couple bands, a bluegrass band called the Steeldrivers, and another band called the Jompson Brothers. He did a song with them called "Barely Alive" that's amazing. I would also recommend "I Was Wrong", live at the Bing Lounge. He did Tennessee Whiskey during that concert as well. You will see his wife singing backup, as she does on many of his recordings. Other great songs of his are "Daddy Doesn't Pray Anymore", which he wrote in 15 minutes, when his wife was getting ready for a night out. "Death Row", "Say Something" (collaboration with Justin Timberlake", they did a two song set at the CMA awards, which is great. "What Are You Listing To", "Fire Away", "Might As Well Get Stoned", "Millionaire", "Parachute" "Midnight Train To Memphis", "Broken Halos", "Nobody's Lonely Tonight", "Traveler" "Nobody To Blame", "Fool Me Again", "Whiskey And You", "Either Way", "Amanda" (live at the Grand Old Opry), he did an eight song set at Farm Aid that will blow you away. You can't go wrong with him, he walks on water!
Wow! Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm looking forward to getting to know his work a little better! And I agree with all your points about his music & vocal style- he's awesome! Thanks for watching!
@@SSTVocalCoach You should also check out a fairly new artist named Mark Broussard. His voice is very gritty, like Chris', and he fuses soul, country and blues. He's very young, and I feel only going to get better. ruclips.net/video/FuWPseegaKw/видео.html
Oh I know Marc well! I actually mention him in this video at around the 10min mark! I remember hearing 'Rocksteady' in 2004 and him blowing my then 16 yeal old mind! I used to cover his songs at acoustic sets years ago, and did a cover with my band last year!

@@SSTVocalCoach Wow, very nice! You have a great jazz voice. Reminds me a lot of Daryl Hall.
@@lisazaccardimeunier8378 Thank you so much Lisa! Love a bit of Hall (& Oates!)
My favorite new pastime. Watching people react to this legend. I just love knowing it’s affecting everyone else like it does me. Resonates deep within your soul and leaves you speechless. Unlike anyone or anything you’ve heard before.
Lori Hunt I’m watching all the videos of people reacting lol
I live for the "stank face". I love seeing people appreciate his voice.

Hes so badass he can sing anything
It is so sad what American Country has become. Much like bubblegum music in the 60’s. I know because I was a teenager in the 60’s. Real country is almost gone on the radio. Love Chris Stapleton. Real country.
Cathy Brown mans our last hope to save country music for sure
Cathy Brown I sometimes don’t even know if he’s country! He’s like his own genre. I lump him into soulful country or country fried rock. He’s amazing
I call it pop disco hip hop country and it SUCKS ! but chris Stapleton isnt even in that as you call it bubble gum genre of country ! well done chris 👍👏
Totally agree with your Sam Cooke reference. The first time I heard him was on a more guitar heavy song, and straight away I thought “he must be the test tube love child of Sam Cooke and Stevie Ray Vaughan.” Special talent.
I came for Chris Stapleton (love him). I stayed for your Scottish accent. I subscribed to hear more 😋
Haha thank you for subscribing! Glad my accent is a hit! :)
me too... lol 🤔
He's so amazing yet remains so very humble. Catch I was Wrong to see guitar solo..... Mind boggling
Nice Reaction! This is called the Blues my brother! Chris is a legend! No Longer shall you sleep on him!
SmallsPC Consider me wide awake! 🙌🙌
@@SSTVocalCoach I few recommendations....Fool Me Again, I was wrong and His cover of This is a Man's World! Of course, react to the live versions.
If you like his playing as well as his voice, try I Was Wrong (Austin City Limits performance).
I think my favorite is "I was wrong" live at Austin City Limits
I'll be sure to check it out! Thanks for watching!
Thats the opposite of this song lol. It goes from gone to your wrong. Both great songs!!
Hard not to lie them all. Only guy that gives me my new favorite song all the time.
His live solo performance of Barely Alive is most awesome to show his amazing vocal abilities
Sometimes the package throws you off from what the gift is.
Very True!
Please listen to him singing whiskey and you .
Definitely blues and soul.
When these vocal coaches think they can keep up and try to mimic him lmmaaoooo
Right lol. They all around horrible imitating him. Chris makes coaches sound like the rest of us amateurs.
Those who can't = Teach
Those who can = Do
Awesome talent! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Chris is own genre 😊
You should definitely do more Chris Stapleton. It's always fun to see a voice coach react to his performances 😂. And yours did not disappoint lol
Lol I love watching people's face when they hear the magic of his voice.
You have to check out the best vocalist from down under John Farnham singing the Beatles song "Help" live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. His vocals are crazy and he's an entertainer, the way he interacts with the crowd is awesome. John Farnham is an Aussie icon.
You said it was just him and a guitar on stage. Wrong!! His voice is an entity, there are 3 things on stage. Chris is an insane song writer and singer.
The best part of your reactions are when you just laugh because you can't do anything else. Like somewhere in your subconscious you think "can you imagine what I'd do if one of my students sounded like this" and then you have to laugh it off as ridiculous. Bravo!!!
GOD BLESS YOU for mentioning Marc Broussard. Such an underrated artist.
You should also check out The White Buffalo - “The Whistler”
Hey Jason, Thank for your comment! I've loved Marc Broussard for the longest time! His voice is just incredible! I'll be doing a react to him at some point too!
He is amazing. Can’t believe he is not more well known. Can’t wait for the reaction! Enjoying your videos.
Honestly it's so frustrating that he isn't a major name! All his songs are great, his Ballads are second to none! I actually covered 'come in from the cold' on my bands RUclips Channel, but The Beauty Of Who You Are, Gavins Song, Evil Things, I could go on and on and on! Him, Dave Barnes and David Ryan Harris should be much more celebrated. Excellent song writers! Thank you for watching, I appreciate it!
Agreed 100% I saw him live and his performance of “My God” left me gobsmacked. But good music isn’t popular music these days and vice versa. And I’ll check out your cover of come in from the cold.
@@jasongoins8608 I can only dream of seeing him live, I hope he visits Scotland at some point. If he does, I'm THERE!
At 4:20 you witness the actual moment he falls in love. HaHa! I know man. I love his voice too. He's amazing.
auburn23 Hahaha it’s true! Glad it’s documented!
That, 'oh my' from you at the beginning - that's when I got pregnant.. such a gorgeous voice.
I think I got pregnant too! haha!
@@SSTVocalCoach bahhaha.. but really, such a nice voice that'll hit ya somewhere, I'm going with the baby maker - you feel it deep inside; so beautiful.
Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake performing at the CMA's live 2015. That'd be a great one to react to.
Great combination of voices. One of my all time favorite live performances. Cheers.
Ya gotta check out I Was Wrong...live on stage....awesome
Love it.....❤❤❤😊 5:47
Check out the live version of I was Wrong. Its gut wrenching! Plus there is a long guitar solo by Chris. Also his live cover of Whipping Post by the Allman Brothers.
You mentioned Marc Broussard ❤️ points for that. Yes CS has no label besides “REAL musician”❤️❤️
A great song by Chris Stapleton is "Barely Alive " the live version. Would love to see you react to that song
I'll definitely check it out! Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching!
Thank you for your reactions and you're welcome for the suggestion
Just listen to a mans world your mind will be blown
Has written 1000 songs for many artists
I am going to recommend you do a review of Chris Stapleton's "A Drunkards Prayer". His wife Morgane is fantastic in her own right. Listen to her Harmony. It should be studied on it's own.
What Are You Listening To ? Acoustic
^^^^
This
Geez guys! Give him a chance, let's not make it seem like EXO-Ls are mean we are nice! I LOVED YOUR REACTION! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MORE! 😄
Thank you K-Pop Bomb TV, It's honestly the next one up, getting edited tonight and tomorrow, so will hopefully be up within 24 hours. I also really appreciate you letting me use your video as well!
@@SSTVocalCoach I appreciate you using my video! Thank you very much! I've asked others but they don't do it so I really appreciate it!👍
Check out his song "Death Row"
You made the stank face we Nashvillians have been making for years. Almost too hard to handle.
So surprised and excited that you know who Marc Broussard is. He is from the same area where I live. I have listened to him for a long time. He also has an amazing voice. My favorites are "The Beauty of Who You Are" and "Gavin's Song". They're both off of his 2004 "Carencro" album. Carencro is a small town in LA maybe 10 miles from here. If you haven't listened to "Gavin's Song", you should. It's beautiful and performed like this one with just an acoustic guitar. Just like with Chris, it showcases his beautiful, soulful voice.
Hey Angie! I absolutely LOVE Marc Broussard, i'd go as far as to say he's one of my favourite singer songwriters! Not only have I heard all the songs you listed above, I've performed them all too! Sometimes on stage, sometimes at a house party drunk when trying to drunkenly profess my love for his music haha! I also love 'Evangeline Rose, Evil Things, Another Night Alone, Man For Life, Home, Rocksteady' - The list goes on and on! I actually covered 'Come In From The Cold' with my band, you can follow the link if you'd like a wee listen! It was a single take recording, so it's not perfect, but it gives you an idea!
ruclips.net/video/99MmzOE5p9I/видео.html
It's the Blues. Period. Full stop.
100%
Chris Stapleton is legit and with all the popularity he has gain is probably still a bit underrated. Zac Brown and Aslyn doing a duet of trying to drive could be a fun song for you to do a video.
I would have to disagree with you on his being underrated. Maybe it's because I live in the southern US. He is very highly thought of here and his concerts generally sell out.
@@angiev1840 oh don't get me wrong he is popular here as well and no doubt would sell out if he came but I think his vocals just go past the country genre and should be even more well known. Just my opinion
Definitely a soulful blues sound:)) Alabama bred
I can hear a little Tab Benoit in there
New subscriber! I mean, YEBBA and Chris Stapleton? I'm here for it ❤ Great reaction 👏👏👏
Bluesy country
CHRIS IS MULTI GENRAL NO DOUBT! I LOVE HIS SONGS ONE AND ALL! HE 'S COUNTRY TO THE BONE WITH THE BLUES RUNNING THROUGH HIS VEINS BUT ROCK & ROLL IN HIS HEART!
Chris infuses a bit of Mississippi Delta blues into his country. If you want some hard-core blues, check out Larkin Poe's Hard Time Killing Floor Blues. They are two sisters with rich voices and one is phenomenal on the slide.
R&B and Country had a baby
when he has new musician playing with him they are stunned by his vocal's,so much so they become like part of the audience
Depends on what your going through in your life. You play this if you want to be gone. Then you play the song "i was wrong" when you want them back.
Just seen him lastnight in Madison, WI and he's probably the greatest live ive ever seen. Very humble. He's straight blues with hillbilly/country twist. From Kentucky to near you.
BARELY ALIVE BY CHRIS IS AMAZING TOO!!!!!!!!!
Love his voice.. Please check out chris kläfford from americas got talent. I think they have many things in common. He has sang two songs, first was imagine and the second song was his own. Garantied worth checking out and react to.
You have to check out the best vocalist from down under John Farnham singing the Beatles song "Help" live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. His vocals are crazy and he's an entertainer, the way he interacts with the crowd is awesome. John Farnham is an Aussie icon.
His live stuff is so much better than the recorded stuff because they haven’t mixed out everything that’s good about his voice.
Listen to" Fool me again", I think you'll be pleased.
I think Chris stapleton is The personification of Country and owns a unique Master piece voice!
You have to listen to Tennessee Whiskey. ❤️ Man got 🔥in his voice.
Have you heard the A cappella group Home Free? They do a good rendition of "In the Blood", "Helplessly Hoping, and "Man of constant sorrow" as well as many more. This is a link to "In the Blood". ruclips.net/video/a1TqpH6PZBo/видео.html
I've not no! I'll check them out! Thanks for watching!
LOVE LOVE LOVE Chris Stapleton reactions....and yours was no doubt lovely
Thanks for watching! He's an amazing singer!
Can you please react to Chris Stapletons barely alive there is only a live video for it
White Buffalo the Whistler
The background track you have playing when you’re talking had me confused. I kept waiting for it to go into Nine Inch Nails - Animal. It’s just very very similar to that very basic drum beat that starts out that song. I knew it wasn’t going to happen, but every time I heard a bit of it when you were pausing in your speech my mind immediately went into preparation to hear the synth and bass come in.. it was messing with my head.
Aaah sorry about that! I just made it up on garageband on my phone when I was setting up the channel! I'll have to go listen to NIN now! Thanks for watching :)
Check out Nightwish performing Ghost Love Score live at Wacken in 2013. Floor Jansen is a goddess
I ha 3 songs to play at my mothers funeral a couple months ago, this was one of them.
JakeHadACake Sorry for your loss 💜
I agree, Chris gives me Sam Cooke country vibes.
Next Brendon Urie’s Best Alive Vocals(Popcrush) PLEASE
Alabama Shakes next!!!!!!
I love watching people listen to him for the first time; and that moment he goes right into them.
Please review The Righteous Brothers ==== You've lost that loving feeling, Unchained Melody and You're my Soul and Inspiration. Thank you so much.
Would love to hear your reaction on "Blow" - Ed Sheeran, Chris Stapleton, Bruno Mars (video), and Adam Lambert/Queen "Who wants to live forever " (live - Isle of Wight festival)
Just like a youtube vocal coach, talking when they should be listening, as if they're going to add anything to Chris Stapleton.
U got to listen to barley alive u will pee ur pants it's by Chris stapleton
Ok Doobie Brothers - Long Train Running, Jesus is Just Alright and especially Black Water. I’d love to hear your reaction to the harmonies.
The genres of blues, jazz, gospel, ragtimte, soul, rockabilly boogie woogie and rock n roll are all rooted in the old black spirituals dating back to the days of slavery.
Also Otis Redding, Al Green. Amanda, Cold, Either way, I was wrong Chris Stapleton
Omg! Don't mess with EXO-Ls 😂
His voice is the male version of Janice Joplin's voice...IMHO :)
He will be in Dublin in 2020.
What’s Bing? Is that a famous bar or something? A theater? Nobody knows what Bing is..
/s
Bing? Never heard of her...
REACT TO THE SONG DEAR TODAY BY LUKE COMBS
Chris is insanely cool. This song is my favorite. Just when you think he can’t get better he does. And does again. And again. On a side note, one bonus for this American is listening to your comments in your lovely accent! Stay well.
I would love for you do a reaction to John Farnham, The Voice is always the number 1 pick but Angels or Age of Reason are awesome. This man is an Aussie legend.
Hi! Can you please check out Morissette Amon song covers on Wish 107.5 (Rise Up and Never Enough) she’s an amazing singer from the Philippines. Love her voice!
Hey! Thanks for the suggestion! I'll check it out!
you should check out Fool Me Again by Chris its awesome!
Lmao.... some dude with a kitty cat cup wanting to take him serious
You keep missing good parts of the song by talking too much.
Hmm... Don't remember seeing this as a highly requested video
#DISAPPOINTMENT
It's on it's way, I promise :)
Thanks for the shout-out and amazing reaction again 😁
Thanks for suggesting him! He is bloody brilliant!
@@SSTVocalCoach no problem, yeah he's crazy talented

I feel like a lot of people leave out the fact that chris Stapleton was the front man for a blue grass band the steeldrivers as well lots of good material there to
I like your reactions👍😊 Love your accent. Chris Stapleton is so dang good!!
Blessings, Pam
Chewbacca can sing!
He's taking you to school.😎
He said, "Oooo". Lmao! Hilarious❤
When the most requested video doesn't get a reaction! Smh
It's on it's way I promise! Next one up!
@@SSTVocalCoach Okay because our boys Deserve better and deserve more attention!
Sam Cooke country music?!?! Where does one even start?!
