I still think Paz accidentally killing Tasha or Yaz trying to shoot an unarmed Tariq would actually have made Season 4 end much better.Tariq becomes higher in the game...at the loss of his family
@johnnysilvercloud4470 that would be a crazy good way to close Paz' story. She takes someone from Tariq and Tommy but still sad cause she still ain't get either guy
In my opinion it felt like a good chunk of the final episode were reshot. I feel like they had it written/shot different way and had to reshoot it when they found out about the cancellation
@TheLarryjohnson187 Originally it was going to be renewed for a 5th season. Budget issues is why they had canceled it 🤦🏾♂ they been said this since last year. Get ya facts straight before u start cappin 🥱
I also think it should’ve been a scene where Carter had both Tasha and Diana and gives Tariq a choice of who dies and Tasha dies right in front of him. Zion could’ve also replaced Noma to tbh
They should have kept Noma at that high-level greater scope villain like Simon Stern. Rarely see them, untouchable, like how she first was. They could have gave that shit to Obi. In fact, the moment she killed Obi and threw the butt at Cane, she was weak.
Simple things I would’ve changed about the show in general: - s1 I’d keep mostly the same. Minor tweaks I’d find a way to remove like the no cameras thing and the college is an open crime hub with no security. The overarching plot is more so establishing the characters so I wouldn’t really change that. - s2 keep mostly the same but I wouldn’t kill off Mecca (I heard that they killed him off bc the actor had a busy schedule but they could’ve got a different big scary guy who doesn’t have a busy schedule). I would keep the chef alive so he can be sort of like what Obi was in the show. Chef was interesting so he’ll stick around. - s3 would actually still be similar but just with Mecca instead of Noma and Obi. The context would be different and it will be Mecca realising that everyone was plotting on him so he is more assertive this time around so he’s forcing everyone to do all of his hard jobs. He would interrupt Tariq in Italy and send him on a mission there and he can be revealed to have a secret daughter. That can still happen similarly. the other side plots with RSJ & Lucas, Sax & Davis plots would stay the same. I would make changes to Lorenzo’s death though bc he died a little weak there. In my version, he can still be drunk but this time he has to deal with all 3 of Frank’s sons. He does still get caught from behind but he puts up a bit of a fight and stabs 1 of them before eventually getting finished off by Gordo. All 3 brothers survive but I can’t have Lorenzo going out like no bitch. Chef would take Obi’s role and request green cards from Tariq for his family. The whole climax would end the same. S4 would be different. The war is a big deal and Tariq gave up going to college. Chef will take Obi’s death. Cane will take some Ls this season and I’d have Monet get killed by Mecca. Brayden kills Dru for Tariq and to get back at Cane for terrorising him and his family for so long. Cane will retaliate and kill Tasha. 2 bit will also be an important enforcer for Tariq. Zion will be Tariq’s connect during all this war and Zion will be Mahoney’s main enforcer. They’ll join the war against Mecca. Wild season with a lot of twists. S5 will continue this and add some more twists. Effie’s backstory will be revealed by now and she will somehow tie in to OG Power but I don’t know how just yet. She is girl boss number 1 now and she’s killed by Diana who catches her first body on her. Carter can be introduced this season and it will appear like he’s investigating Junior’s death last season but he will get the same twist. Carter kills Brayden and he’s a legitimate threat. Cane will be by himself this season and crashing out (think of Lamar from BMF). Diana has an arc where she chooses the game and becomes Tariq’s partner in crime. He gaslights her about what happened to her brother. 2bit and Davis will survive and be a part of Tariq’s empire. Zion will die and Tariq will take his place. Mecca will die by the hands of Cane and he will die trying to protect his daughter. Cane will die in a shootout with the police in Mecca’s hanger (almost like what happened in the show but he’ll die this time). Carter will die by Tariq and his partner will be bribed by Tariq like in the show. Show ends with Tariq being head of the drug game in NY with Mahoney being his new plug but they are both moving like ghosts and are both pretty untouchable. 2 bit becomes the Tommy of the series. Davis gets the same ending. This will tie up all the loose ends of the series and make everything less rushed. It’s not perfect and only some rough ideas I came up with on the spot but hopefully it’s not that bad.
@ Facts. In all honesty they just needed to split it into 2 seasons so they can flesh out what they were building up for 3 seasons. But yeah that last season was ass and Raising Kanan could never.
@HenzoW-cf3mh That’s tough I can’t say I agree because the OG book got my man Omari Hardwick, but yeah Raising Kanan really is up there for me. Not gone lie Force this next season gone come into the conversation I bet.
I think what messed it up is they didn’t know this will be the last season because I think Mary J character was supposed to survive season 4 and die season 5
i think the budget for season 4 was cut expeditiously as well which probably added onto it being terrible. to me, it felt like i was watching a tubi series the entire time like “the family business” or smth. i was highly disappointed because the other books have more consistency in story-telling than book 2. the first season ends of with tariq understanding why his dad did what he did, then the 2nd & 3rd season reverses that and the 4th season brings it back again. they could’ve has the baby storyline stretch throughout the season and have tariq come to terms with killing his dad instead it was a bunch of storylines bunched into one, zero development and somehow he’s the kingpin of nyc lol. if they do another tariq spinoff, i hope that they take their time and be a lil more smarter with their budget because the writer’s room has to be much better next time around and the overall quality of the show as well, i don’t wanna feel like im watching a movie or show made off an iphone again
@@jgwentworth8916 Rewatching raising kanan right now, The writing is LEVELS above book 2. They tie up EVERYTHING. Leaves no questions unanswered unless it’s a cliff hanger. I’m appreciating power a lot more now after watching it cause you know they have the potential to make something dope. The reason we watch book 2 is mostly because of the AMAZING cast. Cane Davis Two-Bit Tate Tariq Brayden Monet Mecca Carter. They got the best cast, so many leading characters but the writing is where they fall short fr.
The real reason why Season 4 was terrible, because they didn't bring back some of the original writers from the first 3 seasons. Look it up. Brett Mahoney (the new showrunner) did a terrible job putting together the last season. If they do create new spinoffs, they need to keep Brett Mahoney away from Power. He also ruined the last seasons of Empire. They need to promote a few of the writers from Raising Kanan and Force to showrun the new spinoffs. Because we all know new spinoffs are coming.
I think they really did know it was going to be the last season and that's why I think they rushed it because they knew that they were going on a different direction with some new spin-offs
I was also waiting for the revelation that Cane wasn't Lorenzo's biological son. Four season and I was like there's no way the casting can be this fucked up. Diana and Dru look like they could be related and look biracial, then there's Cane.
@@SeldomCinematics Dru should have died on that scene where he kidnapped his sister. In this alternate universe, I have Brayden shooting Dru with Tariq clutching his occipital bone like WTF!? as he always do. Dru is with labored breathing, dying on the ground, trying to get a few words out, maybe. Then Tariq agrees with the flow of it all and be like fuck it, and finishes the shot (shared kill; homage/shoutout to Bodie and Poot from the Wire).
I feel like Zion was a disappointment. Also what was the point of 2-Bit character in book2? Also every character that knew who Ghost was but we were never given any type of back story on it.
I’ll be honest, I watched 6 episodes of s4 and it didn’t motivate me to even finish it. First episode was gas but the rest of the storylines were directionless and messy af. A lot of wasted potential. I wanted chaos in s4 and a full scale war. Tariq shouldn’t have been going back to college and being all friendly with all the Tejadas. 2 bit heavily under-utilised. Zion and Carter under-utilised. Obi under-utilised. Shit even Tariq was under-utilised.
They had too much going on in first episode they killed the fbi agent no investigation, too many deaths not accouted for. I think it's alot of politics behind the scenes because starz has always been funny about power being number 1, I think some of this was intentional just my two cents. I welcome constructive feedback.
Davis was another wasted character. For the first half of the season, he just had sex scenes. Second half, he becomes an MMA expert. The whole crooked cops angle was a waste. Should've just had a war between the Tejadas.
@SeldomCinematics That shit was like filler though. "We have to give Davis something to do because Method Man is costing us $×××××× per episode." He really had nothing to do after getting Tariq acquitted. The whole brother in jail storyline went absolutely nowhere. They got Redman off the shown because he wouldn't get a COVID shot. The nigga made like 2-3 appearances in 20 episodes. They could've let him slide.
