Electric performance! They played 6 sold out nights in Wembley from 5 to 10 November in 1979.!Their tour manager said that demand was so high that 'they could have easily sold another 20 nights'!Also 2 years earlier when they played in UK in the historic Royal Albert hall for 2 gigs the ticket applications that got requested via mail were way over than...3 millions!
The band behind ABBA was Ola Brunkert (RIP) drums, Rutger Gunnarsson (RIP) bass, Mats Ronander and Lasse Wellander guitar, Anders Eljas keyboard, Åke Sundqvist percussion. Backgroundsingers Liza Öhman, Birgitta Wollgård and Tomas Ledin
I knew you would enjoy this, just incredible. So many more to explore. The guitarists were Lasse Wellander and Rutger Gunnarsson. Definitely do more ABBA please.
I was there on Nov 9th 1979 and after this they came back and did Dancing Queen and Waterloo. My favorite is Summer Night City as it is very different to the studio version but really rocks. I remember it so well and after my wedding day is the greatest night of my life. I hope to go to the new concerts here in London with the avatars (abbatars) which has had rave reviews
Thanks for the ABBA. When they toured they took their session players with them. For the most part these are the guy's that played on the albums and some backup singers. Think the guitarist your asking about is Lasse Wellander, man did that take some self control. Ola Brunkert - drums Anders Eljas - keyboards Rutger Gunnarsson - bass Mats Ronander - guitars Åke Sundqvist - percussion Lasse Wellander - guitars Tomas Ledin - backing vocals Birgitta Wollgård - backing vocals Liza Öhman - backing vocals Thanks again. What a band.
thank you very much for this special live reaction from ABBA I like to see You enjoy with the energy and músic of ABBA on stage is that ABBA is absolutely versatile, although its essence is pop music, it makes ballads, rock, disco music, regae, folk, musicals, dramatic, eyc I add a context The recital is the closing of the North America/Europe Tour September/November 1979 At the beginning of that year the blonde singer Agnetha and the guitarist and singer Björn had already separated; However, their professionalism allowed them to share the love for their music and that energy put on stage Something about the two songs: "Does your mother know" with Björn added to Agnetha and Frida at the leads vocales, was the second single from their six album "Voulez Vous" (1979) pick #4 in UK "Hole in your soul" wasn't a single, it's a hidden gem in their fifth album "ABBA The Album" (1977) but is the first song (in the background) of "ABBA The Movie" and also appears in the TV special 'ABBA in Switzerland' ABBA gave the best of itself in that mythical setting; It had been almost two hours and 20 songs And they arrive at this epic moment with the four in front of their audience (after a memorable melodic and heavenly bridge of the singers Agnetha and Frida and their highest notes in all ABBA history) Then there will be the special numbers. They will return to close with the emotional "The way all friends do" followed by their greatest worldwide hit "Dancing Queen" And the final bonus will be the iconic "Waterloo", the song that gave them the triumph there in England in the remembered 1974 Eurovision Contest that put ABBA in the consideration of the music world Thank you again so much for giving us this gift for all ABBA fans My best wishes for you from Buenos Aires, Argentina, South América And see in other videos and react
Big compliment to choose this performance - a highlight of Wembley 1979. If you look later for a change take the disco rock Summer Night City with his fantastic Intro. Otherwise you would decide for a different other song, the short final wise The Way Old Friends Do. An other live rock banger is Why Did Have ToBe Me from Australia 1977 (a part of ABBA The Movie). Or the unexpected progressive rock song Eagle, best the long version 5:54 from the German TV Starparade 1978, so great TV effects for that time. The video is still worth it today. Have fun with different styles of good music.
another comment with special moments: 2:38 Björn & Agnetha (just separated a few mounths ago) 2:48 Agnetha & Benny playing piano together (at right side) 3:53 Björn & Frida 4:35 Agnetha & Frida with the guitar player 6:33 Frida & Benny 6:40 Agnetha & Frida like an angels in the fantástic gorgeous bridge 7:25 all four ABBA members in front to your fans 7:50 Björn & Benny for another live reaction my suggest is the previous Tour in Australia 1977 "Fernando" & "Dancing Queen" ruclips.net/video/Uf32uUqSjGw/видео.html
Yeh Dancing Queen from Australia 1977 is the ultimate performance of the song. Maybe only rivalled by Kylie Minogue’s rendition in 2000 at the Olympic Games!
What are you talking about? Of course the microphone can pick up her note. You hear it clearly. Just about any microphone can pick up the full span of the human voice. And of course vocal microphones are for just that. Very weird comment.
Def not standard, used rarely.. . Most likely one was the main drummer, responsible for maintaining the regular rhythm and the other one was percussionist, focusing on cymbals, extra fill-ins - kinda like you have two guitarrists, with one being the lead and other being the solo.
Here's The ABBA Pronunciation Crash Course: Agnetha sings using her Tongue = "Tongnetha" = Angnetha = Agnetha. OK? Björn Earns money = BjEarns = Björn. OK? ABBA is pronounced with the Stress on the last "A". Like this: abbA. OK? Good Luck! Yes, I'm Swedish - and I saw ABBA live 1975, just as their Rocket Career Took Off.
ABBA was a great stadium band, just like Queen were when Freddie Mercury was still alive❤
Thank you for another great video reaction ❤🇸🇪
Music from roughly 45 years ago. Yep!

YES! This is the ONE to do with ABBA! They SOUND incredible LIVE!
Lasse Wellander is the lucky guitarist whose legs Frida and Agnetha paid so much attention to LOL

Yes good info, ABBA toured with the same band and they often played the live the TV performances.
The first guitar soloist was Mats Ronander.

is that ABBA is absolutely versatile, although its essence is pop music, it makes ballads, rock, disco music, regae, folk, musicals, dramatic, eyc
I add a context
The recital is the closing of the North America/Europe Tour September/November 1979
At the beginning of that year the blonde singer Agnetha and the guitarist and singer Björn had already separated; However, their professionalism allowed them to share the love for their music and that energy put on stage
Something about the two songs:
"Does your mother know" with Björn added to Agnetha and Frida at the leads vocales, was the second single from their six album "Voulez Vous" (1979) pick #4 in UK
"Hole in your soul" wasn't a single, it's a hidden gem in their fifth album "ABBA The Album" (1977)
but is the first song (in the background) of "ABBA The Movie" and also appears in the TV special 'ABBA in Switzerland'
ABBA gave the best of itself in that mythical setting; It had been almost two hours and 20 songs
And they arrive at this epic moment with the four in front of their audience (after a memorable melodic and heavenly bridge of the singers Agnetha and Frida and their highest notes in all ABBA history)
Then there will be the special numbers. They will return to close with the emotional "The way all friends do" followed by their greatest worldwide hit "Dancing Queen"

At 07:19 the recording cant pickup the F7 note Agnetha reaches
What are you talking about? Of course the microphone can pick up her note. You hear it clearly. Just about any microphone can pick up the full span of the human voice. And of course vocal microphones are for just that. Very weird comment.
ABBA always had 2 Drumsets wirh 2 drummers playing simultanously. Is that standard for Rockbands live on stage? Just wondering...
Def not standard, used rarely.. . Most likely one was the main drummer, responsible for maintaining the regular rhythm and the other one was percussionist, focusing on cymbals, extra fill-ins - kinda like you have two guitarrists, with one being the lead and other being the solo.

Yes, I'm Swedish - and I saw ABBA live 1975, just as their Rocket Career Took Off.
Have seen this many times with joy,but not this one, with lyrics..at 1.07 I thought they sang "and he goes to school"..
Sweden of the late 70s... all of you who werent there, you missed something.
i am actually jealous.. i would have given anything to experience that.. wow..like and subscribe for more.. thanks
