After the ww2 they decided they couldn't run alcohol in Grand Prix racing because it was so dangerous for the riders! As I'm understanding it can produce invisible flame. So Moto Guzzi decided they had to do something to get the power back. 8 cylinders was their answers!! They built two of them @ equivalent to $50k/. Then they wrecked one. I think that was the end of that program!! I'm not so sure beyond that!!
Hi David. There is at least two more replicas/semioriginals (AFAIK, one is in Sammy Miller museum) ... assembled from parts when Guzzi racing department was discontinued. This one is full original from Pino Todero's collection.

At least it's nice to watch and listen to him today.
Cheers!
Ma Gino ! Porkoa tou rajouté pas oun cylindro sou lé fare y oun otro sou la selle ?😂
I wish the cowling would be so easy to remove on modern bikes.
¡ La posicion de la bateria deja que desear, aunque pensandolo es para una carrera ! 👍👍🤣🤣
For racing only :-)
After the ww2 they decided they couldn't run alcohol in Grand Prix racing because it was so dangerous for the riders!
@@goran2003 Thanks
A great bike for history of motorcycling. But only noise and smog? I think is better one or two laps, for the bike and racer.
This is warming up before 3-4 parade laps ... Agostini and Co.
italian's bike are the best ! ducati - mv agusta - motoguzzi - moto morini - cagiva - morbidelli - aprilia - benelli

4:01 oh no are the mechanicer from this bike are very blind?? There is a very danger problem for the driver and all other bikes on track!! The Oel pipeline have some deep cuts thete are much to old! Very next time there come oel out and run to the rearwheel and on the ground!! Thats big danger for life!! I dont understand why there dont see this, thats soooo dangeres oel on tires or street!! I wish very much that there see this bevor there have a crash!!! Sorry for my bad english best wish Reiner from Germany
Well ... lets say that this beautiful Moto Guzzi is ready for a proper maintenance work :-)
The mechanic, Guisepe Todero, is the son of one of the designers of this motor. I think he knows what he is doing.
@@smeghead61 and why there dont change the small rubber pipline, on the oel tank there are very old and have big cuts! need there wait that oel run out?? Bevor i start a engine i check the system, and make some parts new! This bike run with some people very next to the bike, cut the rubber than very hot oel come out and make some problem!
@@r.blacky341 again I think they know more than you and me. I think this is a rubber shroud around the high pressure hose. If it was a danger they would change it as these are very good mechanics. Better than armchair mechanic
@@smeghead61 yes! there much more better than me!! and thats what i say why there dont make the rubber pipe line new? Stop the Video on 4:01 and see what i see, this pipeline is very very old and short time bevor out of some holes run hot oel when the engine run, 1 Dollar for a new and 5 min.there is on the bike, and for the next 10 year its save! I hope you understand what I need to say!? Best wish Reiner from Germany
many do not know that after carlo guzzi the subsequent owners have no interest in moto guzzi otherwise if they knew the history of moto guzzi and really cared about it they would revive it but unfortunately today everyone thinks about making money at all costs......
Yes ... money talks. Cheers Samuele!
