I'm glad Christian mentioned the Matrix in Prop's stuff. For me, Rebirth and early Reason were so quick on composition before the song layout got so tortuous, Can I drag notes longer over 2 or more steps like in the Matrix. This is really key to generating a credible bass line for instance, any riff really. Also, can this do 16 step and 32 step loops at the same time on different tracks?
Best bit of modular kit I've bought in a long time - well done Polyend the seq/poly combination is simple effective and just looks gorgeous. Good review here also much better than the official ones.
Have you looked at the Synthstrom Deluge? It’s also a hardware sequencer but can do unlimited patterns of unlimited length, has cv and gate outputs built in as well as midi, sampling and audio track playback and built in synth engines, arranger mode, live looping etc etc etc
I second this! You beat me to to asking Christian about it Jimantronic. I have one also and your imagination is your only limit (isn't that the same in life?)! It is a good bit of kit.
Saw the title and knew it was gonna be Polyend's sequencer. Yeah this shit looks incredible. Misa NSC-16/32 are also super cool looking sequencers that look indepth, check that out if ya haven't! I don't have either of these but want both haha
The Polyend Seq looks really powerful. I tend to use either Ableton Live/Push, Korg SQ-1 or Digitakt for sequencing the modular (with Expert Sleepers FH-1 as my MIDI-CV interface). Recently I've been having loads of fun "remixing" sequences via MI Marbles' external input. It's great for a bit of semi-random variation.
Fantastic video! How are you getting those changes in the Summit? It seems like it's jumping up and down the octave on an LFO... is that also midi-sync'ed, or just free running in the patch? Would be curious to know if you've integrated the Summit into your modular universe this way. (Disclaimer: I also own a Summit and am looking for new ways to use it... and am trying to decide if I want to fall into the modular universe)
I believe that my Squarp Pyramid has this beat: MIDI IN to merge an external controller into the Pyramid’s own workflow, 2xMIDI OUT (inc. thru), CV OUTS, USB connectivity, 16 tracks, polymetric, polyrythmic, with onboard assignable physical controllers (inc. an x-y pad), MIDI F/X (inc. an LFO effect that allows users to chain various lfo Waveforms and adjust them to create customLFO-based MIDI modulation)...etc.
If you can bear the UI. I tried and tried, but that's not for me. Christian Henson said it right in this video: stop using the Pyramid for a few months, then try again...
Curious, do you find yourself using this consistently still? Debating between this and a make noise Rene to move past using the mother 32 to finally expand my modular setup…
Nice! I'll be sticking with my BSP for now. At least until payday :P Really would like to get my hands on a Sequentix Cirklon. Over a years waiting list apparently though. Love the channel Christian. Do you ever sleep mate?

I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to hearing you do a whole systems music album! Do what you love, Christian! Did you not mind the size of the sequencer? It seems so very large to me. Though I suppose with that many steps, sacrifices have to be made. Another question: Can you alter the color of the lights behind the knobs? Thanks!
Thanks for the video. Just subscribed finally! Interested in getting into modular synthesis with almost no knowledge on it and no idea where to begin. So watching your video does help... not sure how it helps but it has... i think haha
Seems like you haven't tried a synthstrom deluge yet. I bought one last year and have done entire songs just sitting on my couch, and then I get to plug it into my real midi hardware later. If I were better organized, I would post videos of each sequence (sometimes just using the built in synth engine).
really nice, I use 2 doepfer MAQ16/3 MIDI Analog Sequencers to do this stuff you do with such ease here, apart from the real time controls on each step which this lacks kinda....seriously now my wallet is screaming at me again.
Hi, after reading manual I was hoping you could clear some things up for me? So if I got this straight, if I set all tracks to midi channel 1 to control one synth, I could hypothetically have a single sequence that is 256 x 32 steps long for a single synth part? Also, am I mistaken in understanding that there is no way to save a combination of patterns with corresponding tracks? Does it save your linked patterns or do they have to be linked every time you startup? One more thing, can you dump all the sequence data onto your computer to start fresh if you fill it all up? Thanks for any help
Are Christian's last two video titles the most click baity EVER?!?! love the channel, I just had to tease as they seem out of line with what you usually do, but maybe that is the nature of the RUclips game.

It's a lovely thing the Seq but after having had mine a couple of months I'm struggling to justify keeping it. I clock it from Logic and it'll play my Digitone/Digitakt/AnalogFour/Maschine + various softsyths but given you can create 64-step sequences in all the Elektron gear... It does obviously make more sense in a modular set-up but for me it feels like a bit of a novelty (saying that I'd certainly take it over anything from Arturia, multiple CV outs or not)
On the Seq you can see all 32 steps, on the Elektron you can see 16. So that kind of puts in into the situation where you tend to repeat your self. And on the Elektron you cant see all your tracks at the same time. So I am not sure what you mean?
Christian- I know you’ve found satisfaction with the polyphonic capabilities of the Polyend kit you’ve acquired. I also was in search of some polyphonic gear that would be more of a traditional “cohesive synth” sound. Well- I think I’ve found it, and knowing your affection for older Roland sounds... you might want to look into getting hold of this.
