I think they're basically there. Teams like Cincinnati, Houston, Memphis, Navy, Temple, and UCF definitely fit the bill and the rest of the schools could certainly get there given their history. I also don't think the MWC is too far off given the success of teams like Boise State, Hawaii, SDSU, and Wyoming
AAC is overrated and there isn’t a single team that can sustain success. Even their “successful” teams end up getting exposed when they finally play a good opponent.
Nicholas Esposito Yeah the AAC will have 1, sometimes 2 pretty good teams this year, but 2 points: 1. Memphis couldn’t beat penn state, who is a really good team but not one of the country’s best. Memphis had no defense in that game, no physicality, and ended up losing by 2 TDs 2. Memphis’ coach lasted 4 years there, which is a long time compared to other AAC schools. Coaches use AAC schools as stepping stones. Usually, when a school gets a good coach, they’ll be a solid team for a couple seasons, until their coach leaves and they go back to being mediocre (look at USF, Houston, UCF, and watch Memphis over the next 2 seasons).
Nicholas Esposito Yes but now that he’s gone, Memphis will go back to being an average or below average team... maybe not next season, but in 2 seasons. My point being: AAC schools are stepping stones. They can’t keep coaches, and as a result they can’t sustain success.

2019 was really a disappointing year for the SEC people say fear the SEC more like fear the big dogs like LSU, Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. And also if I’m a Tennessee fan I’m thinking it’s time for new head coaching because losing to non power 5 schools especially if you’re in the SEC is terrible. The SEC needs better coaching. Appalachian State on the other hand I think it’s time for them to move into conferences like the American or ACC because they are really proving to be worthy of those conferences and they might one year make the College football playoffs.
I mean they literally are tied #1 for the best overall career record percentage of .731, and they are also tied with OSU for the best record in the 21st century at 219-43. Which alone is ridiculous, but then they also have by far the best home record of the 21st century at 134-12, which could be why P5 teams largely refuse home and home series with them.
Christian Tuttle They wont probably ever. The only viable conference they can join is the Pac12 and the research requirements are evaluated every four years, and while BSU has improved they aren’t even close to reaching Carnegie Tier 1 and AAU Top 400, which are minimum requirements. Additionally they don’t have a consistent large presence in smaller sports like wrestling, track and field, baseball, water polo, swimming etc and these facilities don’t apparently meet Pac12 requirements.
At this point, none of these surprise me anymore. Half of the AAC is going beat P5 teams. App State, Boise State, and the service academies are all gonna pull upsets. And Hawai'i is always gonna pick off a Pac 12 team on Oahu. I'm just glad the two teams I follow, Penn State and Virginia, didn't feature in this video haha

Cincinnati beating UCLA was not an upset. Cincinnati is a better program than UCLA and has been for a long time now. Tons of talent comes out of southern Ohio. Almost as much as souther California. UCLA can’t compete with that.
Yes. It sounds (no pun intended) like your hearing is/has deteriorating/deteriorated. I could be wrong, and I hope I am. But that is just what I am getting from what you wrote.
They were never a threat. “Power 5” and “Group of 5” are just monikers made up by the networks to justify brand loyalty and keep the money where it is. It’s been proven for years now that there are only a handful of P5 schools that are top-heavy with prime talent and the rest are just collecting a paycheck.
Coastal Carolina beat Kansas...😂😂...oh, my. Also... please tell me that GT/Temple score ain't right. 24 to *2?!* 😂😂 Where have I seen that final score before...?!
10 years ago the MWC was like the 3rd best conference in the country. Actually proven considering they literally beat the Pac10, B10 and ACC champions in multiple seasons.
Any reasonable football fan know the whole “P5” thing is a joke. The top G5 teams are better than 70-80% of P5 teams. Who would win most of the time, Boise State or Kansas? BYU or Iowa State (even though BYU is no longer technically a G5)? UCF or Oregon State?
Which game was your favorite?

As a FSU fan please do not call us power 5 we don’t deserve to be called anything positive
Nah you're better than lots of G5 teams. As a UCF fan I'd rather them play Miami than FSU
Your not a real FSU fan obviously
@@thomasdacquisto1315 I've heard the Willie Taggart PTSD can get to some of the fans. Trust me though, one season with Norvell should fix that
@nathan c UCF would have mopped the floor with both FSU and Miami. That’s why the ACC stepped in to avoid bowl games with UCF.
@@bronzeguy9839 they would've played harder than Marshall did 😂 plus if it sparked a rivalry, that would be great.
Great video👍👍👍
5-minute Craps thank you!
Np, btw loved smu beating tcu, it was an entertaining game to watch and I really dislike tcu
I was at the San Diego State @ UCLA game. I was surprised by how apathetic UCLA seemed to be
Chip Kelly should've never left Oregon
Was good to watch my Memphis Tigers hand it to the SEC West👌
They beat one 5-7 team in ole miss, the lower tier sec west team next to Arkansas.
They could have beaten at least one-third of the SEC last season, perhaps even half of them 🐅🐅🐅
None of these games and outcomes surprised me.The only game ever played that was an absolute shocker to me is when App.St. beat Michigan
These are just good small teams beating teams that used to be good
12:18 Fight between 45 and 40 yard line
is it just me or is Colorado vs Air Force a really good rivalry
Most balanced season in a while
Cincinnati beating UCLA was not an upset. Cincinnati is a better program than UCLA and has been for a long time now. Tons of talent comes out of southern Ohio. Almost as much as souther California. UCLA can’t compete with that.
I'm to the point where I can watch every video full volume is that bad?
Yes. It sounds (no pun intended) like your hearing is/has deteriorating/deteriorated. I could be wrong, and I hope I am. But that is just what I am getting from what you wrote.
Hey are you gonna do top 10 best group of 5 teams for this season?
None of these Power 5 schools are as much of a threat as they once were anyways.
They were never a threat. “Power 5” and “Group of 5” are just monikers made up by the networks to justify brand loyalty and keep the money where it is. It’s been proven for years now that there are only a handful of P5 schools that are top-heavy with prime talent and the rest are just collecting a paycheck.
3:54 Is that TimTheTatman low-key? 👀👀👀😂😂😂 Thought he was a Syracuse fan 💀💀💀
Hawaii's home announcers are the best😂
You probably could have included BYU as well, although they’re independent, quite often they’re considered a group of 5 type team
Coastal Carolina beat Kansas...😂😂...oh, my. Also... please tell me that GT/Temple score ain't right. 24 to *2?!* 😂😂 Where have I seen that final score before...?!
Cole McDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O
Yessir unlv 🤞🏿
we finna talk about how cole McDonald is lowkey a unit?
Now if mainstream media could show some love to g5 teams nobody would be so upset
They did College Gameday for the 2018 UCF vs Cincinnati game and the 2019 Memphis vs SMU game. The love is there.
Damn how am I just now seeing the Hawaii Arizona game, nothing spectacular but the ending was crazy
I saw that ending when it first aired, and I was pulling for Hawaii to win.
Jayse Langford I don’t think a lot of people knew about it because it was week 0 but ESPN only advertised the Florida vs Miami game.
If there was a Power 6, the Mountain West would be 6th
I think not.
