You have to pull the darker tan thing on the ribbon front. When you do it unlocks and pulls out easily. When you install it back, make sure it’s pulled out and slide the inner piece inside and push the small tab back in. Then wrap the outer edge of it around the ring on the outside. Just be careful with it, make sure you’re not too rough and you’ll figure it out. Good luck guys.

Thanks bro. I couldn’t find out how to pull the front piece off of the top and it felt like I was breaking it to begin with so i tried to put it back all together and it was a mess. Then I saw this and took it back apart in about a minute and made it back perfect. Great video.
Hell yeah, thanks for showing how to open it. I have no idea what's wrong with mine though so I'm just gonna unplug replug and clean and see if magically starts working.
You can, with some practise, remove the outer casing without any tools. Pull the left cover from inside the USB cutout and ease the panel away. The tabs at the back are the most difficult but can be unclipped by applying inward pressure directly over the centre of the clip and it'll pop open.
Wow dude, just tried your "no tool case opening trick". Works great. I can't believe I've never heard of this before. I think I'll make a video of this if you don't mind.

That ribbon is so sensitive and so easy to break honestly if you disconnect it with out damaging it everything else is super easy. First time I took my Xbox apart to clean I kinda damaged the ribbon and when I put it back together my Xbox wouldn’t turn on... long story short I managed to get it to work again after hours of messing with it, the only thing was that it’s so sensitive that occasionally if u bumped it to much with would turn on and off by it self. Ever since then I havent taken it apart again 😂😂
David Rodriguez it could possibly be, first what kind of Xbox is it? Because it could be the power supply as well, check that first and see if the light on there turns on first
aris z. I have a xbox 1 and the brick is always orange, my xbox always used to never turn on, it would always seem to make beeping sounds, like if it was gonna start up
That last part with the cover- finally got it. I first hooked the front edge in, then pushed back pretty hard on the top to get it to reach the back edge. It looks like the way you do it doesn't have the front panel attached yet to the top when you put everything together, so what you are doing is kind of a magic trick.
Funny story. My xbox kept turning off after turning it on. I thought maybe it's because of the dust accumulating inside. I look up videos to see how to dismantle it and clean it. I spent a good 2 hours crying and freaking out because: 1) I couldn't get the front panel to pop back inside. 2) Once I did pop it back in, my xbox wouldn't turn on. 3) I dismantle it again to see if it was the blue strip. The blue strip was fine. And last but not least, 4) I put it back together again and it still wouldn't turn on... Turns out my problem was never the dust, it was the power supply because it got disconnected. I connected the power supply to its cable and now it just keeps blinking orange which means I probably need to replace it. I literally spent 2 hours freaking out over dismantling my xbox when it really was just the power supply 😭
