Why isn't my Garmin 205 recognizing me when I touch the screen? It also seems too always be looking for a satellite, why? I'm all the way in the country with nothing blocking the Garmin.

Greetings, the only way to have the GPS speak the street names or Freeway Exit names is to choose a voice with TTS support. TTS stands for Text To Speech and only some Garmin GPS units support that. For example Garmin Nuvi 255 Nuvi 265 both support that.
For the firmware you don't need a link you can get it automatically by using Garmin Web Updater from Garmin's Website. Don't use Garmin Express because it requires you to register with Garmin First, and it will not give you options to choose what to install.
This is a very small GPS with the screen size of only 3.5" diagonally, if you are OK with that the unit will work fine with the 2021 maps. Actually 2022 Maps are out now and it even worked OK with that.
@MAN_MAN Sure, Click on Tools, click on Picture Viewer, Click on another photo, click on info, check the box that says " Display at power on?" The image enlarges and covers the screen, wait 5 seconds now click anywhere on that image and click Back. That is all
Hendra Smd Hi thanks for the compliment, you need to use Garmin webdate to update the firmware and only then it should be able to get satellite signal. Because the satellite geographical location changes on a daily basis and if the GPS is off for a very long time it will have a hard time finding satellites unless you get an update.

I have also updated my device using the Garmin Web Updater (Firmware for GMTxx, Binary Data Fonts, Time Zone, and Language). Do I have to bring Nuvi 205 to the outside environment, for example, traveling around the city to look for satellite signals? Thank you
@@hendrasmd2499 As long as it is outside not under a roof, and as long as it has a clear view of the sky " Clouds are OK" it should be fine. You don't have to drive it around. Also keep in mind that for the first time it might take very long to find satellites. To see the satellite progress you can click and hold your finger on the satellite signal on the screen.
You only set the time Zone, the date in time will be automatically adjusted by the satellite signals. You do need to choose the correct time zone otherwise your date will be off by one day.

The touch screen could be either defective or out of calibration. About the satellite signal use Garmin WebUpdater.exe to update the firmware.

Saludos, Ufnortunately esa opción solo está disponible en estos modelos de GPS Garmin que tiene (Trip Planner). Nuvi 205W no tiene eso
How does this unit fares in 2021? Thinking of buying a used one..
