Sorry for the late response. I believe both genres can sound really good depending on how well they're implemented. Aivi and Surasshu are big fans of video game music, so their work often reflects on their inspirations. I think this rock cover is absolutely amazing nonetheless.
An SU anime would be pretty cool, but I already love the original's art style, haha. But I'd imagine this theme song would work (although they'd have to shorten it).
I use three tools: SCR Pro, Audacity, and Windows Movie Maker. The SCR Pro app is what does the ripping, while Audacity and Windows Movie Maker is used to fix any imperfections and polish the rip. I use SCR Pro by internally recording my gameplay, which allows me to get the soundtrack without external static or noise. It takes a few trials for me for each soundtrack because I'm bound to make mistakes during gameplay, which would result in a sound effect that ruins the recording. I have to play through each stage multiple times in order to make sure I could get rid of the sound effects and possible lag in the audio. Most rippers take the soundtrack straight from the game's data without having to edit the audio at all, but I couldn't do it for Soundtrack Attack, so internal recording was the next best option. It's a tedious process, but the quality is just as good.
I agree. I think some of the game's instrumentals are pretty decent, but I would have loved it even more if they chose to implement some of the instrumentals from the show.

That's an interesting idea. However, I did not make this cover, as I ripped it directly from the Soundtrack Attack game. I don't have a way of extracting the instrumental of this song, so I can't replace the English vocals with the French vocals for you, sorry.
