Max? This Kirk, kd9rek I used to see you at Burger King coffee during Covid when I first got my license. I just bought a ic705 straight from Japan. So I was looking at programming options and found you. I’ve been more active with the club this summer. Perhaps I’ll see you around sometime. Good luck with the channel
@@kirkjohnson8259 ah yeah, different fq allocation. Glad you can return it though, alot of people get burned on that. I don't get on winlink super often, but I think you still have my email, happy to answer any questions on the rig you might have or get out to a park and help you get acclimated!!
Don’t they have pre loaded software for repeaters for the USA and down load all the repeaters at one time. May be on a thumb drive or disk, or just down load from a soft wear company? Can you use Mac to do any down loads?
Thanks but what if you have plugged the USB into a PC for charging before driver installation? After deleting and re-installing the driver ports the CS-705 still does not work. It says the "Connected transceiver is not a compatible model". Running 1.26 CPU. Weird because DX Lab Commander has no problem talking to the radio using the Icom com port. Thanks Peter.
@@HamRadioNewb Yes tried that. The SD card method goes ok. I just tried the newest 1.10 version of CS-705 ( I was using 1.03) but the download page says "modified to firmware 1.20. I am using 1.26 radio firmware so guess I am SOL for now. 73 es tnx for the suggestions. HAH I just found version 1.11 of CS-705 and it WORKS! Getting to be as much fun as setting up the Flex, hi.

Yes and no, you can use GPS to go locate from a directory but also have your own memories in a channelized fashion.

There should be 2 com ports? Have you tried using the opposite? You could also do the programming via SD card
