Seems like normal on this channel honestly
That's how I play from the depths I don't know what you're doing but your clearly doing it wrong.
Oh I imagined it as nukes bolted on top of lawn mowers with lathrix sitting on top surveying the his neighbors.
the old Strangelove approach.
Could you please turn some nukes into a "Ram on a Stick" that impales the enemy and gets stuck? Maybe other enemy craft will try to kill the "Ram on a stick" and shoot their allies in the process.
And a ram nuke that gets stuck inside and has a timer that makes it explode inside the ships. That would be cool :)
Fairly certain Lath follows Khorne, not Slaanesh...
But if we call them Khorne's Horns, that changes things.
Actually really clever.
This would be awesome, especially if the Ram on a Stick carries a number of mines with it, that only fire off once inside the enemy.

Anti air lasers are heavily desired, the newer designs found within the game do infact do well versus nukes.
Today on TheBelow Lathrix commits Warcrimes by nuking civilian sectors and is able to get away with it because he is the main character.
The main character is a genocidal maniac anyway.
Lathrix at least has honor rules so he is less of a maniac and more an evil overlord.
Naah, he's a good guy! Everyone knows that
Nuclear missiles used as warning shots? Khorne approves
Hey Lath ! For your nukes you should do MIRVs, like a huge rocket with 6 of them docked and released when an enemy is in range. You can even add storage + repair to restock your nukes on the way. That way you'd still have an active model and win and you shouldn't loose too much speed.
Lathrix just referred to a nuke as a warning shot

Politics this, politics that, I just want to grill the entire world with nuclear fire for Khorne's sake!
I understand the sentiment, but nukes are actually quite messy. The blast doesn't incinerate as many people as you think - instead, it boils the flesh off people alive in a large radius. This doesn't kill people - not right away, anyway. That's before getting into the black rain, radiation poisoning, and the fact that modern cities are quite flammable.
Any nuke big enough to "cleanly" kill a city (and lets be real, the boundary between "city", "suburban", and "rural" is rather hazy) would also be big enough to cause fallout in a very wide area. Lastly, breaking supply chains leads to massive starvation, power outages, shortages of resources, etc. Long, slow, painful deaths.
I hope we don't have any nuclear conflicts anytime soon, because we are not at all ready to deal with the aftermath.
@@r3dp9 But you forgot to take account of the fact that big explosion = very cool.
...Well, if it works...
How about a "Nukes vs" episode, showing how many nukes it takes to destroy the main ships of each faction?
Or some of his old super ships that he built years ago those would be fun to see again
I don't think they can overwhelm the CIWIS on crafts like the Tyr
Instead of making a dud nuke, a more realistic option may be to make some kind of observer aircraft that travels with them
Is it possible to make a mimic of the nukes to hang from the craft so it looks like they launch from the craft?
@@stickfigureman3D I don't think so, they are block attached to the craft, so it is almost impossible to animate them

What you need to do is have the nukes create little balloon craft during the fight with their massive material storage - the minimum, a chair on a wood block and a balloon. That way before it hits it spawns a 10 material craft to make the hit technically count.
You without a doubt deserve more subscribers and views, keep up the good content!
Depending on how quick things can be spawned in... Have each nuke build a "rowboat" with a chair, a few wood blocks as a hull and some weight on the bottom for it to float upright and drop it on approach? That would give you both the presence after the nuke blows up to win and a potential capture place. Build it and drop it when within 100-150 meters of enemy so you are right next to it after the bang. And I am looking at spawning/building and not subvehicles as those could slow your nukes down while travelling across the map. Just a tiny 15-20 block boat to drop off: rudder, propellor, electric engine, 1 battery on the bottom as a keel, floor of 3 wood beams 4-5 meters long, u shape of 3 wood beams as siding and back with 1 to 3 rams up front, 1 ai and 1 chair. Maybe add controls so you can drive it. Wouldn't survive anything shooting at it but the idea would be for the nuke to kill or ai dead the enemy before it would think to target the little one. Problem would mainly be getting something built in the few seconds of flight time before the strike. You could do it in 5 blocks (chair, 3 wooden beams as floor and 1 lead block for a weighted keel) if you don't mind it being silly though I don't know if that would be enough to count the win or if an ai is needed.
I did not know about the growth factor vs. enemy craft size thing! Good to know for the future.
Also the fact those nukes can hit Flying Squirrels is amazingly awesome. XD
1:09 Bomber Harris says: DO IT! If they didn't want to get bombed they shouldn't have been at war with you.
19:00 Also, you should build a fast interceptor. Like, 200+ m/s fast.
Your videos have really inspired me to get back into the game and give it a proper shot. The amount of fun I have just listening to you play the campaign is awesome. Thank you so much!
Build a spy plane that follows the nukes so that you have a way to observe the destruction that the nukes cause.
no weapons or AA weapons.
A way to build nukes out of combat, such as repair tentacles.
If this is hard to read im dyslexic.
"Remember that Nukes are the shiny friends we all need in life." ~ Lathrix 2021
You should count how many materials it takes for the nukes to travel 1 tile in the campaign map. This will let you stop under/over-fueling.
For the dummy nuke you could make it a resource container. Possible lore reasoning is you need a long range observer to survey damage and bring back samples. Also I was reminded of the end of Dr. Strangelove when you were trying to attach a chair to the nuke to ride it.
you could put heavy armor between the nuke block and the a.i. so that once the nuke goes off the ai survives, and then the nuke is considered "too damaged" or "health below 80% and sinking" which have a count down, thus allowing for the battle to continue long enough for the damage to propagate. ERA armor might do the same job for cheaper but I am not 100% sure how nukes and era interact.
This is interesting but it would make them more expensive
@@squa_81 true, but not more expensive than having a dedicated craft follow them around, that would also need to be fueled.
I am a simple man and I like simple things, like dynamite, gunpowder and gasoline
I respect that comrad
i also like plutonium
If u use the nukes and a ship at the same time you could have a swarm of missiles from the ship so the anti air defence cant take the nukes out
Waited so long for this I'm so happy
Fun idea: make a spin block ramming vehicle with a nuke inside. So when it drills inside the ship it then detonates after burrowing inside c:<
...like a chest burster! Just without the chest burster!
Name the nukes a cute and cuddly surprise to trick the enemy
i had a huge dreadnaught that had drone nukes it rapidly rebuilt... with a manual launch system... was a hilarious meme... running a tiny probe of some kind in nuke 'fleets' is always a good idea.... bonus points if it can repair the nukes with the scraps of each fallout zone
Would it be possible to build something like a Blackbird? Unarmed, extremely fast aircraft designed to stay at the edge of space. Sending one out that flocks of nukes could rendezvous with before attack runs would be fun
What if instead of sending a dud missile with the nukes, you sent one that would deploy a small satellite? That way you have a non combatant to keep the fight going, and you get a small fleet of satellites.
"Oh I should have put chairs on these things" - In context of a nuclear cruise missile, right...
Maybe I should send a swarm of nukes to their base, a warning shot! - right, nuclear warning shot!
I watched this guy for a couple of years and I still don't know what he says after "Sir and ...."
For the nukes, maybe not a chair, but instead, a tiny tiny flyer that detaches when the nuke goes into targeting mode, so you still have a 'unit' in the battle area after the nuke blows. Or something like that.
God damb do I love some good From The Depths in the morning. More youtubers should play it.
I like to use this analogy from the FTD video of martinsinopants:
The learning curve of this game isn't a curve, but a cliff, on fire, with bears
Sadly it's too big of a time investment for most people to afford, hence why the player base is small
Lathrix you should take the lessons learned by navies across the world and have your torpedos detonate underneath the enemies hull. I know that that is impossible as there is no proximity fuse for torpedos, but what I mean is MAKE A NUCLEAR KAMIKAZE SUB.
When i get angry: cry

Beer for the Drunkthrix!
that laugh is definitely worth it.
An idea for a difficulty tweak for harder difficulties could be that enemies get more out of their resource zones. So if you have the difficulty on growth factor or design difficulty set to godly the enemy factions could get 1.5x the resource out of their resource zones or something like that since the big godly designs tend to be expensive. Idk if that would make them super overpowered or just lead to the onyx watch for example spamming bulwarks but it is just an idea.
lathrix : ima not abuse nuke
lathrix one video later :
A quick solution to combat ending too quickly would be to dispatch a tiny sensor drone with the nukes. You could even set it up to use inter-vehicle transmitters to offload detection equipment from the nukes to have it serve a "legitimate" purpose.
3:48
"captain i see a nuke coming!"
"A NUKE?!?!"
"yess"
"WERE DEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD"
I think it would probably work best for the nukes to give them less fuel, and carry them over via ship (one with big shiny silos!) this would mean less fuel used by the nukes themselves to get to their combat region (though slower travel to get there) and would mean that there is always the nuke mothership in combat, so you stay in combat post-nuking, unlike the first nuke battle in the video.
I know that you don't like to use too much cheese, but I think it would be fun to see a full cheese run, maybe only have a rule like the cheese has to faction specific, so you'd have to change fleets for each enemy faction.
I like lath's laugh it sounds so merry
Strangely hypnotic these videos. Never heard of this game nor the speaker but love these.
hey lath you should take a look at some of the steel strider planes, they use mimics to hide the important bits of the wings and i think the darts would look pretty fresh with some of that
A group of piranhas is a "shoal" but I'd like to imagine the piranha collective noun is a "frenzy" of piranhas, so that we could justify calling a group of Frenzies "a Piranha of Frenzies."
Sounds like what you need is a single Reaper drone, for observation during nuclear strikes. It should have your chair for raiding, and evasive AI to draw AA fire away from the nukes.
For the nukes, make something like an AWACS (Super high altitude, unarmed surveillance plane) or observation satellite. That way, if the nukes can't kill the target, the damage will stay at least, and maybe lightly arm the observers so they can finish off any crippled (Like unarmed, but still alive) enemies
The sea floor glitches made a heart. The game was just trying to show its appreciation to you.
In this episode: Lathrix violates the memorial of Captain Nick with nuclear weaponry.
Doesn't surprise me that Lathrix uses ICBM's against non military targets when he's part of the Chaos forces. Lmaoo
Instead of having a dud missile following the nukes, you could have a detachable mainframe at the back of the nukes that you drop off just before the nukes hit their target so the enemies don't despawn.
Lathland: gets nukes
Also Lathland: let’s nuke the civilian structures
Loving the ICBM style nukes. Very fitting that they're able to traverse so much of the map if given enough fuel. I'm looking forward to seeing what's built to accompany them, if that route is taken.
"I should have called the video killing cickens with nukes" damn latrix don't try to one-up us italian and our cicken killing tank
I really miss the enemies clumping up and forming bigger fleets, the dwg is just some lonely flying squirrels at the moment.
An answer to the issue with nukes would be to make a bus and carry the nukes as the submunittion. That way you could also give the nukes less resources making them more efficient AND the bus could then be used to carry the spoils of war back home.
I'm thinking a high speed bomber that deploys these nukes as parasite craft would be a good way around the damage not propagating when the last nuke dies.
Then you just sprint around the map sprinkling nukes on everything.
Bonus points: call the bomber Oprah Winfrey, because _everyone_ gets a nuke
I definitely recommend making an alternate version of a nuke which just circles around the enemy at like 2000 m without the warhead while the actual nukes ram the enemy
The Lightning Hoods watch on with Interest...
"You can't just use nukes," you say!?
I say nay! You aren't using enough nukes!
Finally, a from the depths video that gets straight to the point
Hey lath do you plan to use the sea floor crawlers you made in that one video? I think the concept was really cool and I’d love to see it in the campaign!
Lath: "You can't just use nukes"

*Laughs in ICBM player*
One of those vehicle holding blocks (the long ones) holding an ai on the nuke which drops it before impact, should mean you have a vehicle alive for a few seconds after impact, and cheaper than a second nuke.
Now imagine if there was a faction (maybe the Atom Pact) that relied almost exclusively on missile ships as well as these things. Oh, and they almost exclusively target your resource zones.
*@Lathland*
4:12 Can you "detach" the AI-core of the nuke (or decoy AI?) just when it switches from Cruise to Attack mode (meaning it's in range), that would let the AI survive the battle at almost no extra cost (it flies using control blocks anyway then?). (is there parachutes in this game? Might want to add one of those onto the Core, just in case of fall damage) (OR, the opposite, add a bomb/self destruct, on a timer, just to not polite the game with active AI cores allover the map after the nuking)
I do have a suggestion for your nuke design - have it drop a module of itself at the beginning of combat like an escape pod. That'll remain in combat to ensure the win
I want to see the return of the "bunker" ships he made many moons ago.. they were thw first build i saw and got me hooked
