My mother lives in the desert part next to wrightwood. I went hiking a few times a week, or would go study at the lake. I just hate the fires and road closures due to weather. My biggest con is being stuck on the freeway just to get down hill. Cute to visit I don't think I could live there long term. I do have to say, it's a beautiful small town and when I visit I enjoy it.
My parents lived there for 25 years and we loved going there to visit especially the snow season. They lived north of town 2nd house at the end before North side ski resort 2 1/2 acres with a view that you couldn’t put a price on.
Wrightwood is awesome! I have a half dozen friends that live up there, but I'll tell you.... I will never go up there in winter with out a 4x4 again! Because of all the "flatlanders" going up there for the new fallen snow (like me and my family) and us being in a 2 wheel drive we had to stay on the main highway. It took us a full 8 hours to get home to the San Gabriel Valley one time! With normal traffic, hour fifteen tops. With my 4x4 I could have cut that trip home down to 4 hours! 🤣
The main town has fiber, I haven’t used it but according to the website it looks fast. I use starlink as it’s our fastest option and it works well for school.
The internet connection is good just during winter or if there’s a storm you may lose internet but other then that Wrightwood is amazing I live here and it’s great! ❤
Hi Debbie. There are clinic's in Phelan. Kaiser has a medical office in Victorville. As far as hospitals, Victorville has Desert Valley and Apple Valley has St. Mary's. There is not a hospital in Wrightwood. Does that help?
Hello. For middle and high school you have to leave the mountain and head to Phelan. Here are full details, www.niche.com/k12/search/best-schools/t/wrightwood-san-bernardino-ca/
Hi! So nice to have found a video for Wrightwood. Would you need the California Fair Plan insurance for this area? I experienced when I was looking in Crestline and it’s about $2600-3000 a year plus the normal homeowners insurance that bank lenders require 😳😣
Hi 👋🏻. Yes, there is required insurance for Wrightwood and almost all the mountain areas. If you would like details contact me and I'll put you in contact with my local insurance resource. Thanks for watching and think of me for all of your real estate needs. 😀
i lived in the antelope valley in the 90s and loved going up the hill about 30 minutes, if i remember correctly the san andreas fault line runs thruogh town.
Yes, that is correct. Many great things to do in and around Wrightwood IF you love nature (which I do!). I serve all of Southern California so hit me up for all your real estate needs. My cell 760-559-4805. Tks!
Grew up in Phelan thinking of taking my little ones up to Wrightwood tomorrow to walk around and grab lunch. Can you recommend a spot to eat at? Thanks
Thanks for watching! For a lunch with the kids check out Grizzly Cafe. Good food and service and then walk the kids up to Applewood Court for some sweets 🙂
Question...how often do you get snowed in? If it snows how soon after fall are the roads drivable? Do you think commuting to Glendora for school is unrealistic?
Hi Betty. Thanks for watching! We do get snow and there may be a day that you can't get out until the roads clear. It's about 1-1 1/2 hour commute. Know that the Cajon pass does get shut down with accidents due to thick fog..etc but it's not on the regular. Does that make sense?
Hello. I've been in the backcountry of Colorado. Most of the homes are in town on small lots but there are homes with larger lots and more remote areas. If you want details on that text me 760-559-4805 and we are happy to help. Thanks for watching!
Has wrightwood historically has been wiped out by a fire or a flood, I like that town to raise my 3 kids but I immediately did my research and found out that those 2 factors are high on the list. P.S. great video
There was a great mudslide that blew thru wrightwood at one time. If you satellite image the area you can see the stained desert for miles down the high desert all the way past el mirage, pretty crazy.
Whoa! Derek! Wish I could be young again and look as good as you youngster!! Don't waste a moment of life and get the real Jesus Christ NOW..not religion
I grew up in wrightwood and lived there for almost 20 years. I loved growing up there. It is an amazing place to live.

...one more question...how good is the internet? I work from home and require highspeed internet.
I would like to know too
Great question. Let us know if you find out!

And medical emergencies?

I lived in Pinon Hills for 4 years, just moved in May.
How do you like it? Where did you come from and why did you move here?
Thanks, I enjoy your videos. They are very informative!
Thank you Selene!

This year in february we were snowed in for around a week, now this hasn’t happened in years but it might be an issue if it continues yearly
Are there homes that are somewhat isolated...I.e. no close neighbors?

Hello. Wrightwood is at fire risk more than anything else as wildfires to threaten every year or every other year.

It's too bad there is no water up there. Would be of great value. Silverwood lake a bit of a haul.
Do u guys have ice skating
Hello. No, we do not.
