I was watching the games of the past World Cup qualifying window with some family. They have essentially no soccer knowledge but I kept on mentioning how Adams was making really important plays. I encouraged them to start paying attention to his play. They soon we're saying "Man, that Adams guy is everywhere!" and "I can see why you really like Adams!". He truly is fantastic at that Kante role; tireless work protecting the back line and snuffing out counter-attacking threats.
don't remember if it was the year Leceister won the title or the following, but finally managed to sit down and watch a game. Talked to my brother about it later and he was "wasn't Vardy great?" and i was like "that little midfielder Kante is amazing. he was by far the best player in the game" .... he's really something. When i heard Adams say Kante was his favorite player, i knew that Adams knows whats up... he will be one of the premier midfielders in the game in a few years
I've only just started paying closer attention to players and tactics, but after seeing many vids on how Kante might be the best player in the world (when he's healthy) I really grew to truly admire and appreciate him and his style of play. It seems to me that having a great central defensive midfielder is a lot like having a stud defenseman in hockey. Someone who can not only stop offensive chances by the other team but start counterattacks for his own team. I was very pleased by what I saw from Adams in this last rotation. He's relentless, smart and talented. If he can get close to Kante's level...
As a Leeds United supporter I really appreciate this video, it looks like we’ve picked up a great player who can replace Kalvin Phillips in our DM double pivot.
Great Video, FIFA! Really enjoyed the breakdown in the different categories. Tyler is an incredible asset to this team. I have not missed a single USMNT game since the early 80s and could not be more excited for the group we have now. Keep up the good work, you and the team.
With the desire to have Reyna as an attacking mid-fielder and Weston as one of our starting mid-fielders, what formation do you use and where do these guys play? You have to have Adams on the field but where do you get the best out of this trio? WIth Musah, you have an interesting group of 4 midfielders for a 4-4-2 or a 3-4-3. Greg did not get it right this last cycle in the mid-field and needs to come up with a better solution in the coming window.
I like 4-2-3-1 for that. Some of these spots are up for grabs, of course, but something like this might suit our strengths Pepi Pulisic Reyna Aaronson McKennie Adams ARob Brooks MRob Dest Idgap
@@RogerCh888 you do know that every player played "out of position" has actually played that position for their respective clubs. The distinction is out of position versus preferred or best position. However, that is just opinion. It didn't hurt Davies to be played "out of position".
Jake, a suggestion for you. I watched 3 and a half minutes of this video, and then quit. The problem: I cannot find the guy, that I am supposed to be observing. Suggest: Apply that highlighting video technique. a) freeze frame the action. b) Highlight the subject of your narrative. With a red circle, or that halo/aura highlight, or whatever. c) Then continue the video action, and your narrative.
To me, this guy and Weston McKinney are the heart and soul of the USMNT. Reyna is a very good player too but always gets hurt which is extremely disappointing. Pulisic is good too but he did not impress me much during the WCQs. Maybe it was him being forced to play with mediocre MLS players or he just isn't used to CONCACAF road games where the field is crappy, who knows, but he did not impress me much at all.
@@HopMadness1616 I actually forgot to include Fabinho and Rodri. Definitely not Declan Rice though. Now, there’s Locatelli. I hate the EPL. You should take a break from it and watch the big kids play in the real leagues.
@@colinreese You realize the two finalists of the last Champions League are EPL teams, right? The EPL IS the big kid league. @@HopMadness1616 The Premier League has won like 6 of the last 21 Champions Leagues, and Serie A is amazing right now. Also, Real Madrid have Vinicius & Rodrygo (and Isco, Benzema, Ascension, etc). Despite the headlines, Barcelona have a loaded squad including Pedri. They’ll be back playing well soon. They’ll try to get Gabriel Jesus if they’re smart. Crazy that he’d be Agüero again. The Premier League & Pep did him dirty despite him having the same goal rate as Agüero. Ligue 1 critics are a joke. I always watch Ligue 1, and the players and speed of play are amazing.
@@colinreese Serie A is absolutely not amazing right now dude, they just lost Ronaldo and Lukaku, and Italian teams haven’t done anything in Europe in years. Rodrygo/Isco/Asensio hardly even play for Real! Half of the top 10 best teams in the world are Prem teams. If you genuinely think the League 1 is better than the EPL then I’m not sure we’re watching the same sport.
The only problem with Adams is that he is poor with the ball. Teams especially in Europe pick up on this. PSG's whole gameplan was to press Tyler Adams.
I mean if we wound it down to top 5 for his age class it's not much of a reach. Hard to get recognition for the value you add to a team when that team isn't making noise on the biggest stages.
Yeah - I was definitely having a reactionary hot take kind of day when I posted this video... it was also right before the Man City game where he got torched but that' how it goes sometimes. If we do say U-23 I think he's solidly in that spot.
@@RogerCh888 being a fan has nothing to do with it. I am just being realistic. Adams is good and our best cdm, but top 5 in the world is laughable. Maybe top 15, MAYBE!

Phenomenal video. My favorite breakdowns were his use of the blindside and the chip passes.
Thanks Daniel I very much appreciate the feedback!
YESsSSS!!!!! The Dance returns!!!
That was an awesome video. Now I understand so much better why people say he's the one indispensable player on our team.
No doubt, he should be captain. Especially when against Honduras where he was shown directly arguing with Berhalter on positioning.
These kinds of vids are what make you different than Tact Manager or Yank Report. Had to subscribe.

These attributes of his game are easy to miss while watching but make a team so much better !
Secret: I go watch the dance at the end before watching the video.
love the video. Keep going man!
Ive already said Leeds have the better deal, Philips is an ageing injury prone player, and Leeds get a much younger player!
Him and Roca in CDM look a great partnership with Aaronson and Harrison blasting off them. Adams will be Leeds Captain in a few seasons time.
i like the blind side insight
Glad you learned something new Mike!
Looks good, here because of the links to Arsenal #coyg

When Adams is playing for the US and we are trying to qualify for the World Cup, are you sure you don't want him as a right-back? lol
No because he’s not a rb 🤨
@@theguyspodcast5782 I know, I was joking because Berhalter put Adams as a right-back in the Honduras game.
@@theguyspodcast5782 Tell that to nagelsmann. Seems like Adams can play there too.
Thinking about all the players Greg plays out of position gives me a headache, aside from recruiting I don't see what USSF still sees in him .

Being a defensive mid interception and spring an attack is important, well now look for that.
Thanks for the suggestion Roland I will start to include that in the videos. I truly appreciate the feedback!
Thick as mince you lad
Hmm I did not have that problem at all. Maybe cause I know Adams well
He is criminally underrated. As a defensive midfielder he is better than rice
How do you feel about there not being any US players at the top 22?
Who would be?
That’s fine with me I think it will take a few years for Pulisic, Reyna, Adams or someone else to start creeping into the high 80s.
The secret is out now! Give Aaronson another year to adjust to the prem and he will be up there as well

Everton linked to this guy now, hopefully it happens
Leeds United already got him
It didn't Jonathan.
he will come to man utd!
Maybe. Let’s see: Casemiro, Kante, William Carvalho, and Gueye (Gana) are all pretty nasty. He could be close.
William Carvalho belongs nowhere near the others on that list. Fabinho, Rodri, Ndidi, Rice, all so much better and that’s just the EPL.
