I know there's a lot of criticism for FFXV, but i thought it was a great game with wonderful music. Kara, you did this piece with such passion and emotion. I'm grateful as always!
I had to change the rhythm in the penultimate section to get it to click. I love your interpretation. This composition by Shimomura-sensei, is truly a S-Tier work of art.
Fantastic interpretation of this piece. In general, I feel like the FFXV soundtrack was under appreciated. There are some incredible pieces there. Keep up the good work!
It is sadly much too rare to discover a channel such as yours on youtube, and i am glad i finally did. Your technical skill is very good, but what really rams it home is how much emotion you pour into all the pieces you play. Very happy to have found you, impressed so far and looking forward to what comes to your channel in the future! :D
Thank you!! :) And thank you for subscribing too and waiting for more. I have sooo many more planned in the future. My next up is The Other Promise from Kingdom Hearts!
Just starting out learning the piano. Stumbled across this channel and it’s fantastic. You ma’am are incredibly talented! Keep up the good work! You make it all look so easy!
Amazing work, this was probably the best one you've recorded so far. While your playing is always quite precise when it comes to the technique, this time you also managed to deliver such a great deal of emotion with your interpretation. Thank you for this.
Thank you Joel! I struggled with this one at first, but somehow I was able to transform it into something that worked and something I loved. I'm really happy with how it turned out too!! Thank you again :)
I don't know which song I like better for a piano piece, Somnus or Zanarkand. You played both, and I think they are still tied. Although there is an inherent sadness to both, you play them with such passion that I can't help feel both the sadness but inspiration to rise above it. Thank you.
I love the way you touch the keys. It's simple yet emphasized. Especially the 2nd page of the score. Good work! Hope to see other works coming on your channel!
Thank you Martin! It's kind of neat to hear you say that, my dad also said similar things. He listens only to classical music, yet he really love this one. It is very emotional for sure! And I love how the arranger builds the theme :)
Karaaaa this is absolutely amazing :O I don't think I'm ever going to like, fully get used to how good you are at piano XD I mean I already thoroughly know it, but the awesomeness still catches me off guard each time :p those epic hand jumps!!! Speaking of which I need to rewatch that part, brb, ahhh its sooo good XD it sounds like an epic march into battle! I've never heard this song before (except possibly a small preview on one of your streams) so it was cool to hear something completely new, and you played it with such emotion and intensity! Since I haven't heard any other versions I have nothing to compare it to, but I don't think I need to compare it to anything, it stands on its own :D
It's almost better to have no bias when listening, so I'm glad you weren't familiar with it! I think by the time I got a good take on this one, I was in a mood----maybe that mood translated well in my performance of it hahahahah I think you know the feeling :P
I've only just discovered you, and have (so far) just listened to a few of your pieces. I've got to say, your command over the dynamics in your performances is phenomenal, to the point where I don't even want to use words like precision or articulation because they just sound too... 'clinical'... for your playing. When you're moving through a slower section and you push down into some of those lower notes you can just FEEL the sound, and it's awesome seeing your eyebrows and head twitch all over the place when you know you got it right ^.^ Anyway, you've earned a subscriber and I look forward to hearing many songs to come :))
Wow this means a whole lot to me, thank you! I have actually had issues when it comes to dynamics actually, because trying to record dynamics accurately is one of the hardest things. Plus the room my Steinway is in is very small and doesn't resonate much. But I do understand the huge importance of dynamic fluctuation, so it's a big focus of mine. Thank you for subscribing! I've been on vacation for two weeks and am coming home Saturday and back to the business of recording new covers for you all!
With all your Final Fantasy music, i don't understand why I discover your channel only now! I checked a lot of your videos, I love them, I hope you'll go far you deserve it :)
Aw thank you!! Yes I have to say I've picked a lot of the great ones to record, BUT I still have many more to go. I hope you'll stick around, thank you again!!
Excellent performance as always, your playing always has these subtle tempo discrepencies that make it so much more human rather than the mechanical approach so many others take, like you actually capture the emotions of the piece rather than merely recite the notes verbatim. Or perhaps put a bit of yourself into the piece.
Thank you so much. Sometimes I discover something I want to do or change the day I record it. But music is sooooo versatile, and one way isn't necessarily better than another. That's what makes it music!
Not necessarily better, but surely more soulful of an approach, like singing written words rather than reading them in monotone. Youve got quite a talent for it. Though that talent of yours is backed by seemingly well refined technical chops (the flourishes ive seen in some of your videos showcase that aspect quite well) which when combined with the "human" element makes for a force to be reckoned with in music.
More FFXV songs!, maybe the story was not what I expected, but the music... oh! the music in it was so perfect. Probably the best FFOST. Departure, Veiled in Black, Apocalipsis Noctis, Nox Aeterna, Invidia, Luna, Dawn and Magna Insomnia!!!
Might not but from Nobuo Uematsu but it still goes along with the feels of the final fantasy franchise, Beautiful and deep, with a mix of joy and sadness. The perfect reflection of a FF's theme
Yes! I liked it for the most part, but the ending felt rushed to me, like they ran out of development time. I liked everything well enough in regards to the story, just wish there was more of it.
What a beautiful performance! The way you played it, so emotional! It would seem as if the FFXV soundtrack was written for you to play it :P Seriously, I loved this one! Can't wait for you to play Valse di Fantastica =D
I have been working hard on the Waltz, although I've been away on vacation 2 1/2weeks, I'm gonna be quite rusty when I return home, but the waltz should be coming up very shortly!!
Now I do really want Luna's theme mixed with Luna's thoughts theme, if sheets exist for the second one. You are so talented. I am amazed by your existence
Marvelous! You deserved more subs, such a hidden gen! If you have time, please consider covering the final fantasy 14 songs. They have lots of great songs, such as revenge of the horde.
Very good! Nice interpretation. I'm also learning this piece; loved the game and especially the music. It depends on your instrument and style, but I think it'd be better to play the crescendo that starts in 1:27 a little louder at the end, taking advantage of the bass notes, followed by your dynamics ending at 1:36. To me, that part is like climbing a hill to find a captivating view at the top.
WOW this is ............., is this your arrangement? I'm almost crying ............... this worth more than a like and a sub. great job!! such a shame the game theme itself have been change from Romeo & Juliet , but the current one is not bad either.
Just wanted to shout-out, just discovered your channel looking for FF piano pieces to listen on my new HTC U11. Piano and a beautiful elegant lady, my 2 favourite things.
Kudos kupo! That middle section is very Rachmaninoffian dont you think ? Glad you were able to find the book after we talked about it. I still have mine here on my music desk in the envelope it came in from Japan....so busy lately with music from IX , XIII, XIII-2, and of course because I'm a glutton for punishment I just added a piece from FF Reishiki ["Type 0"], but I hope to move into this collection sometime later this fall. Your playing here is in top form and the video is super motivating. Nice overall presentation, nothing I can really critique except maybe look for places to play soft even softer and deliniate textures even more. Here is an avocado of approval 🥑.
I have you to thank for directing me to the sheets for XV, so...thank you!! :) And snap....I really think the lack of soft dynamics comes from the inability of the mics to pick it up perfectly, and the acoustics in the room. I only say this because I'm hugely conscious of dynamics and it's a big part of what I focus on when I play. Ah well...can't have it all I guess XD thank you again!!!
Omg, you should totally do The Bladed Tactician from Final Fantasy XV Episode Ignis. It’s composed by Mitsuda, so it would go well with all of your Chrono Trigger and Cross content.
where did all your puffy sleeves go!? so, this is the first time i've heard this song, so no preconceptions of what i thought i'd hear or want to hear. ...and actually, i don't need to hear anything else! damn, this is powerful stuff. you play it so dynamically, such douceur and then such intensity. this song really showcases your talent. also, i bet you'll play FF 15 before i do :P
That's cool, when I'm teaching my students, I often try to put myself in the shoes of someone who has never heard the piece before. Sometimes that's a better way of getting a good overall impression- coming in with no bias whatsoever. I'm glad your response was positive!!
Really nicely played and dynamic, givin' me the chills! Love the facial expression at 1:53. A few quick questions, if you don't mind: 1. What camera(s) are you using, besides the iPhone? The quality seems pretty consistent between shots. 2. I think you said somewhere that you haven't play the games. Out of curiosity, how did you discover FF music then?
Thank you! I was really feeling this one XD I use the Cannon DSLR with a 1.8mm lens :) And I have played some of the games actually! I completed 1, 9 and 15, and have played tons of hours on 14 hahaa. Otherwise I grew up watching my brother play most of the other ones :)
this is such an underrated channel jesus christ
Hahahaha
Ahhhhhhhhhh♥ ❤, I could stay here forever on your channel
I know there's a lot of criticism for FFXV, but i thought it was a great game with wonderful music. Kara, you did this piece with such passion and emotion. I'm grateful as always!
Coming back here 7 years later, I still think your performance here is absolutely amazing and the tears from my past self were well-earned :D.
I had to change the rhythm in the penultimate section to get it to click. I love your interpretation. This composition by Shimomura-sensei, is truly a S-Tier work of art.
After years of listening to this channel, I just today noticed how much effort goes into filming the piano. It's beautiful imagery.
It's no exaggeration to say I have been listening to this 20x times a day. Yours is better than any other interpretation. Phenomenal
I shed a tear during the climax of this piece, you played it beautifully and with passion. Thanks!
Thank you for this!!!
yeah I just cry everytime I hear skilled piano play for FF.
Fantastic interpretation of this piece. In general, I feel like the FFXV soundtrack was under appreciated. There are some incredible pieces there. Keep up the good work!

I'm always so amazed by your flawless technique. Your sound and emotion were also absolutely PERFECT. Easily one of your best performances.
Thank you Barrett! My dad said something similar, and he tends to be quite picky when it comes to music hahaha XD
thank you for this.was a pleasure to witness your craft
I've had so many chills.
Absolutely astonishing armony between visual and music spheres.
Subscribed!
OMG! Amazing! I love what you just did in this video, thanks for getting excited about this sound.
Divine!
Thank you!! ❤️
Just starting out learning the piano. Stumbled across this channel and it’s fantastic. You ma’am are incredibly talented! Keep up the good work! You make it all look so easy!
I clicked because you look just like a FF character. And after watching your performance, I'm so glad that I've found a true artist.
aww thank you :)
Your Kingdom will follow you and be wherever you go forever in peace
I can't believe she doesn't have 1m subscribers or more, a hidden gem indeed!!
If only more were interested in the Final Fantasy piano collections there would be much more following.
Thank you for this!! You captured all the emotion from that song! You don’t understand how great you just made my day! The universe appreciates you!!
Omg Kara you were blessed with such magical hands... thanks for ur love... may your channel goes up.
Thank you for playing this beautiful song. It helped put my mind at ease.
Ever since the Versus XIII trailer to the point of getting to the city in FF15 and hearing it... the feeling of it encapsulated...
A fantastic cover of a fantastic piece of music, I can listen to it on repeat non stop :)
I really love your arrangement of this
Easily my favorite cover of this piece. Thank you.
This gave me chills. So freaking amazing!
simply amazing, thank you for this moment
I would spend hours listening you play.
Yeah wow underrated channel as some others have said. Amazing work from a much more insignificant pianist ;)
Awesome Somnus Piano Collections Final Fantasy XV Video.
WOW Kara! This is so deep, my new fav of your FF series!! PS there's at least two tones of emotions.
Thank you Martin! It's kind of neat to hear you say that, my dad also said similar things. He listens only to classical music, yet he really love this one. It is very emotional for sure! And I love how the arranger builds the theme :)
Perfect... my ears have never been this happy
Absolutely marvelous! I love the variation of tempo and intensity in your version!!😊
Karaaaa this is absolutely amazing :O I don't think I'm ever going to like, fully get used to how good you are at piano XD I mean I already thoroughly know it, but the awesomeness still catches me off guard each time :p those epic hand jumps!!! You play so beautifully!! So nice to watch 😍
Thank you Nathalie!!

Departure, Veiled in Black, Apocalipsis Noctis, Nox Aeterna, Invidia, Luna, Dawn and Magna Insomnia!!!
I'm working on the Waltz di Fantastica, that will be my next cover, but I'd love to do some of those you suggested in the near future too!!
This is a great music and you played it so beatifully! Love all your videos, mainly the ones from FF IX
Thank you! IX is my favorite too!
A great performance once again and I like your expressions in playing each piece! Sachiko Miyano is such an amazing arranger!
Ahh that's the arranger! Haha I felt I searched all over and couldn't find the name. Thank you, and thank you for you compliment!
Absolutely brilliant - I love it
Perfect speed in the middle!
Absolutely beautiful! I'd love to hear you do Sorrow Without Solace. It's by far my favorite of the piano arrangements.
Might not but from Nobuo Uematsu but it still goes along with the feels of the final fantasy franchise, Beautiful and deep, with a mix of joy and sadness. The perfect reflection of a FF's theme
I like how you described that!
Love this theme so much, thanks for sharing!
Thank you Jake!!! Did you ever beat the game?
Yes! I liked it for the most part, but the ending felt rushed to me, like they ran out of development time. I liked everything well enough in regards to the story, just wish there was more of it.
another beautiful masterpiece. love it!
Truly amazing job, Kara!!
That was amazing.
I've traveled through dimensions to give you this rose 🌹
-hair flip *light glimmers off my smile *
Thanks for the music
Love Kara wtf this is intense.
What a beautiful performance! The way you played it, so emotional! It would seem as if the FFXV soundtrack was written for you to play it :P

PHENOMENAL!
Excellent

Amazing
Amazing talent 😱
Simply the best 💖
WOW this is ............., is this your arrangement?
I'm almost crying ............... this worth more than a like and a sub. great job!!
such a shame the game theme itself have been change from Romeo & Juliet , but the current one is not bad either.
Aw it's not my arrangement! It's from the piano collections. But I'm so glad you liked it!!
Nailed it as usual 😍
Just wanted to shout-out, just discovered your channel looking for FF piano pieces to listen on my new HTC U11. Piano and a beautiful elegant lady, my 2 favourite things.

Actually, I've commissioned my dad to voice the hammers on my Steinway! They need it desperately- he's just gotta find time to do it!
love it, you should also try Noctis' theme
Oh don't worry, I will be doing Noctis' theme in the future!
I feel sad whenever I hear this song. Thanks for sharing this though.
I take it you've played the game? Soooo sad and emotional :((
Kara Comparetto Yes, overall, I would say it is bittersweet.
It 's more than i can take 😢😢😢
Omg, you should totally do The Bladed Tactician from Final Fantasy XV Episode Ignis. It’s composed by Mitsuda, so it would go well with all of your Chrono Trigger and Cross content.
What a wonderful lady!!!!
God I hope one day I'll play as good as this I've only been playing for a year and a half XD
Keep it up! Music is a daily journey, enjoy where you're at, and keep playing every day!!
where did all your puffy sleeves go!?
so, this is the first time i've heard this song, so no preconceptions of what i thought i'd hear or want to hear.

Lovely
Really nicely played and dynamic, givin' me the chills! Love the facial expression at 1:53.
