Hi Aavak, i think i remember some murmuring about a potential new cdda campaign, is it safe to assume that this has been postponed to an uncertain date, or am i just being a derp and missing an announcement about said series ; )
I can’t wait to see how zombies work. I know you looked at it when it first came out, but I wanted to watch your series sequentially (AS IT SHOULD BE!) and I just never got to it before I found other things to watch. 😅 I always thought it was funny that The Inquisitor was always so hung up on witches, innocent or otherwise, that he never noticed that his only friend in town was a confirmed necromancer! 😆
So I don’t know if you have “for science’ed” this yet, but in your first run you did try to sell raw sliced meat without the stamp and you couldn’t. That may have changed since then. I don’t remember if you ever sold cooked meat dishes at all, burgers were too valuable. Also, My partner, Todd, doesn’t normally get excited when he walks in on me watching one of my RUclips channels. However, he does like Aavak, and this game in particular. When I watched the previous episode he walked in and asked “Is this the game with Comrade Donkey‽” I will probably buy this finally (It used to be on XBox Game Pass but dropped off I think, and also I got rid of my GP.) It’s very charming and I know so much about it because of this series. (Now if only the game could include a running commentary in dulcet Welsh tones. Oh, well, I’ll have to settle for watching this while I play.)
I too remember that in his first run, I believe it went something like it being accepted “just once because it looked so good” and later you needed the stamp. In my own time with this game and this lp I have to assume that they changed it at some point

Dear Aavak, first thing I'd like to say is I love watching your vids. Very pleasant. Next thing I'd like to say is a little tip I learned with Graveyard Keeper. I don't know if anyone has said this yet but it's cheaper material-wise to break down the wood and stone headstones and just rebuild them instead of making repair kits. Plus when you craft stone/marble headstones, you get blue points for making them. I can't remember if you have to study them first at the study table in the church basement but I know crafting the stone/marble headstones really brings in blue points.
THANK YOU! - for calling blue skill points - "Spirit" - as it should be. You calling it "Faith" (which is something entirely different) in your previous play-through was immensely vexing, to say the least. In case you forgot, make sure you collect all the blood and keep it for speed potion purposes.
Remind dark aavak: your inventory is left. I think seeds is not fixed at 4, but varies by crop. Take a skull to the Astrologer one day. Take 5 hunney to the nice man one day. Make delicious meat pies for the hungry villagers. Don't feed bread to ducks, it is not good for them. Peas and corn work better, but defrost them first.
Skin is one of the /most/ useful pieces to take, as it's used to make paper (and is also needed to make armour). And removing bones doesn't affect red & white skulls (unless you make a surgical mistake). I do recommend making better tools asap, as not only can you then get more done you can also sell the rusty ones to Krezvold for a decent bit of cash.
while i enjoy the grind, what i really enjoy is the sound effects. with your editing, it's a nice summation where i can hear those, but you dont spend much video time on it. i like it a lot. i dont think you need to worry about the beam right now because once you get the church open you can access the basement library and get the blue points needed to make your own
Ahoi Aavak, great video. I'm so glad you picked the series up again :) So from one Keeper to an other just a little tip: You do not need to take out the skull of a body to add one red point to convert it by takeing out fat/blood, because blood and fat supress one white point while adding one red point, so by takeing them out you basicly add one white point anyway. Even if you have an all white point body, if you take out blood and fat you will still gain two white points. Bonus in this case will be that you are then supressing two red points so you can take out a skull and it won't have any effect on the body. You can take out the skull of course (and I think you remember why we will need them^^) but for now you still running the rist of "surgens mistakes" as long as you don't have "gentle butcher" perk. PS: Im so sure you will find the Stranger Sinns DLC most enjoyable, to Game of Crone I can't tell you anything. Still waiting for it to come out on the Switch version (which by the way is so annoyingly buggy -.-)
In the case of blood and fat, removing them will add one white skull regardless of whether or not there's a corresponding red skull. It's with embalming that it matters whether or not there's enough red skulls to replace.
I just started watching this, I know it's 2 years old. But this has helped me a lot so far with this game! I have a hard time in the beginning to get stuff started. I was so worried about talking to everyone and when you said in the last episode. You don't have to talk to the person you got all the time in the world made me realize oh. I can work on my graveyard and focus on repairs so thank you!
Order does not matter when removing organs. The way the game calculates the score is each corpse has a base score and then the organs add modifiers. In the case of the skull it adds -1 Red modifier. Blood has +1 Red -1 White as it's modifier. Removing the skull doesn't technically add a red skull, it just stops removing one. If the modifiers cause a number to go below zero, it just treats it as zero for the overall score. Where order does matter, and what you may be remembering, is embalming. Embalming modifies the base score, and the requirements for using an embalming fluid are based on the current total score, e.g. you can't use gold infusion if the corpse's current score doesn't have at least two red.
Ahh, yes that seems to be what I'm remembering wrong; I had clear memories of having to do certain things in a specific order (needing there to be red skulls, in particular) and that's probably the embalming.
Info about the white/red skull system. TL;DR: order doesn't matters and fat & blood will give white skulls even without the red ones. (Later in the game you will be able to see the skulls of each individual organ which will make this make much more sense) The important thing to note is that organs do not convert skulls but rather they add or subtract each type. Some of the body parts have a fixed value while others have random. For future reference: Flesh: 0R 1W Blood/Fat: 1R -1W Bone: 0R 0W Skin: -1R 1W Skull: -1R 0W Brain/Heart/Intestine: from -2 to 3R from -1 to 3W Surgeon's mistake: 1R -1W The total skull value of the body is the sum of all organs inside it. What is neat is that if you add up all of the fixed body parts you will get (0 + 1 + 1 + 0 - 1 - 1) = 0R (1 - 1 - 1 + 0 + 1 + 0) = 0W They balance each other out, so all of the initial skulls from the body come from the brain, heart & intestine. Note however that these are the values that each organ **adds** to the body, so removing it will subtract them. So let's run the math on the body you were working on this episode: Starting value: 1R 2W Remove skull: (1R 2W) - (-1R 0W) -> 2R 2W Remove fat but cause mistake: (2R 2W) - (1R -1W) + (1R -1W) -> 2R 2W Remove blood but cause mistake: same as above -> 2R 2W Remove flesh: (2R 2W) - (0R 1W) -> 2R 1W etc. The order doesn't matter. If we go back to the fixed organs that sum up to 0R 0W: a) if you remove skull then blood = (0R 0W) - (-1R 0W) -> (1R 0W) - (1R -1W) -> 0R 1W b) if you remove blood then skull = (0R 0W) - (1R -1W) - > (-1R 1W) - (-1R 0W) -> 0R 1W Note that in the example b) you briefly have negative red skulls. The game will still display it as 0R, however it does keep track of negative (since at that point there are two organs with -1R & only one with 1R). This is important because as you've noted, there is an option to insert organs back into the body. This means that *as long as you don't make surgeon mistakes* you could restore the body to its initial state - or more importantly you can create better bodies by inserting better organs into them (this becomes more important with the zombies). Once you are able to see the organ's values you can put away the good parts and save them up for later. In the mid-game (when you make fewer mistakes but still can't see skulls) you can remove brain/heart/intestine, see what effects it has on the overall quality, then put them back in if it's having an undesired effect. Once again, it can be pretty confusing at first - especially when you can't see the individual skulls - but it will make more sense when you get into the mid/late game.
Aavak, just wanna say real quick: I really like the small jumpcut-montage thing that happens whenever you're doing some grinding. I think it's a good middle ground between some people who enjoy watching you doing grinding and some who aren't
This is super late, but if you make stone or wooden repairs kit, you get 4 at the time, so the plank + nails = 4 repairs kits, not 1 and it's defiantly cheaper to repair than to make new once.
Aavak, thanks so much for starting up Graveyard Keeper again. I love your content and your commentary on this game way back when is the reason why I followed the rest of your content closely. Can't wait to watch every episode the day it's posted hereafter.
RE: corpse stuff - order of operation doesn't matter until you get to embalming. Then the embalmings that remove red skulls NEED red skulls to work (at least as of last DLC I checked). Organs can be removed in any order. Quality of the final corpse depends on the organs and embalmings (plus rot, surgeon mistakes).
Hey Aavak, have loved your graveyard keeper series for a long time so happy you're playing it again ^w^ real quick thing that i just wanna point out, its good to keep one of each grave decoration because when you study them you get a lot of blue points. Looking forward to future episodes!
Every time I watch one of these episodes I get a little disappointed this time it was right around 37:26 I was disappointed... I am glad you have brought this series back, I loved watching the first one, and am enjoying this one, the odd thing is like Stardew Valley I enjoy your lets plays but not actually playing the game myself.
you missed some apple tree stumps at the southern part of the lighthouse. Also you could plant your own domesticated trees which yield much more than wild ones which you can bake to for pretty cheap food renewable food A note regarding 35:00 you can know which organs are and aren't "sinful" with a perk but it does require you to reach a certain plot point to unlock it and then its priced like end-game techs.
Aavak body parts have built in stats they give to a corpse everything adds up to give the shown total, it will become important when you start making zombies. For your question, skull hides 1 red. Blood adds 1 red and hides 1 white.
Was screaming at my screen aavack you need 4 seeds to plant a field. You don't need to buy more later if you get the right perk there is one that increases the amount of seeds you get from a harvest
From what I know the amount of seeds you get back depends on what fertilizer you use so using only peat you will generally get less back but possible silver and definitely gold fertilizer will usually give back at least as many seeds as you started with and possibly more
@@nyxyn3109 that is interesting since that is not what I am getting in my current play through although thinking about it more that might just be for seeds that have a star since I do keep needing to buy more beet seeds
stones are also a solid choice for selling for early game cash. if you do all conversation options with the merchant you can get a 5 silver loan but it is costly. honey is able to be harvested after 24 hours
I just love watching your playthroughs! Your commentary makes a gorgeous game even MORE enjoyable :) Thank you Aavak for dedicating your time to making videos of us, I hope you can feel how much we (or at least I) appreciate it! So glad its back and can't wait to see the new content. Thanks, Aavak for All your hard work in giving us great content to watch and enjoy :D.
You don't need to add red skulls before turning them into white skulls *Or so the wiki seems to imply* But on that note, you might as well collect skulls. It'll be a while before you can make perfect bodies, and the skulls have some usesin the future.
From memory blood and fat will add a white skull even if there are no red skulls. There is reasons with enbalming to add a red skull, but it's been so long I don't remember the specifics. Really enjoying the series, makes me want to fire up the game again myself
You are the reason I brought this game and I now have it on steam and on my iPad too. I also have Stardew valley on steam and iPad too. I can not use my mouse that much anymore as I have got a cyst in my right wrist and problems with my bones in my right hand so I can not play games on my PC that much. I love playing on my iPad though. Keep up the good work
I'm really glad you can still game on the iPad, there are a lot of options for additional controllers out for PC, but I think in many cases we're still waiting for companies to get better at implementing them into their games. But we'll get there :)

Aavak, I want to tell you that I have been a fan of your channel ever since I saw your Stardew valley let’s plays. After finding out about Graveyard keeper yesterday…I have been doing my research on this game to whether if I want to purchase it or not. And I am loving this game. The creator of this game just made a dlc for it & it’s suppose to come out tomorrow which is called Better save souls. I truly hope that it comes out on the switch too

River sand and clay techs are given after the church opens, talk to the Bishop after first sermon for quests and abilities. 7 mins left of the video so not sure if this was done at the end or not.
The Order in which you remove and add body parts absolutely matters. Also you can recycle stone gravestones and fences like wooden ones. but you can't do it with marble gravestones. Oh and cremation was unlocked by not mort when you threw the corpse in the river... just look...
I guess there's going to be tons of disappointment if the "our church great" sermon gets retranslated to something grammatically sound but obviously less awesome. But I'm sure you'll still read it as such.
In his first play-though a couple of years ago, the on-screen text had already become less awesome by the first time he gave a sermon, but he read it properly nonetheless.
Skin can be used for paper, and is needed for both armor and furnace upgrades. I don't remember if it's required for books, but it at least can be used for that.
Aavak is probably not going to see this but why most people apologize when giving advice is mainly to other channels / steams timing you you etc for "backseating" and a lot of people feel that it ruins the game for them. For me I know communication online always leans towards the more negative side so I tend to just say something to set the tone of the message better.

In the case of blood and fat, removing them will add one white skull regardless of whether or not there's a corresponding red skull. It's with embalming that it matters whether or not there's enough red skulls to replace.
Ahh, thanks :)
Our Church Great! Hopefully soon!
Also, might be misremembering but I think skin is used for paper or books
@@Aavak a additional sidenote: there is a a perk unlocked later in the story, that allows you to see the values from those parts
I love this series and game
Info about the white/red skull system. TL;DR: order doesn't matters and fat & blood will give white skulls even without the red ones.
(Later in the game you will be able to see the skulls of each individual organ which will make this make much more sense)
The important thing to note is that organs do not convert skulls but rather they add or subtract each type. Some of the body parts have a fixed value while others have random. For future reference:
Flesh: 0R 1W
Blood/Fat: 1R -1W
Bone: 0R 0W
Skin: -1R 1W
Skull: -1R 0W
Brain/Heart/Intestine: from -2 to 3R from -1 to 3W
Surgeon's mistake: 1R -1W
The total skull value of the body is the sum of all organs inside it. What is neat is that if you add up all of the fixed body parts you will get
(0 + 1 + 1 + 0 - 1 - 1) = 0R
(1 - 1 - 1 + 0 + 1 + 0) = 0W
They balance each other out, so all of the initial skulls from the body come from the brain, heart & intestine. Note however that these are the values that each organ **adds** to the body, so removing it will subtract them.
So let's run the math on the body you were working on this episode:
Starting value: 1R 2W
Remove skull: (1R 2W) - (-1R 0W) -> 2R 2W
Remove fat but cause mistake: (2R 2W) - (1R -1W) + (1R -1W) -> 2R 2W
Remove blood but cause mistake: same as above -> 2R 2W
Remove flesh: (2R 2W) - (0R 1W) -> 2R 1W
etc.
The order doesn't matter. If we go back to the fixed organs that sum up to 0R 0W:
a) if you remove skull then blood = (0R 0W) - (-1R 0W) -> (1R 0W) - (1R -1W) -> 0R 1W
b) if you remove blood then skull = (0R 0W) - (1R -1W) - > (-1R 1W) - (-1R 0W) -> 0R 1W
Note that in the example b) you briefly have negative red skulls.
Thanks for the comprehensive info :D
Aavak, just wanna say real quick: I really like the small jumpcut-montage thing that happens whenever you're doing some grinding. I think it's a good middle ground between some people who enjoy watching you doing grinding and some who aren't
I love the editing. I wouldn't mind a few hours of grinding when you are in late game during a livestream
Really glad you like the editing :D
This is super late, but if you make stone or wooden repairs kit, you get 4 at the time, so the plank + nails = 4 repairs kits, not 1 and it's defiantly cheaper to repair than to make new once.
Finally! My daily dose of serotonin is here!!!!
Aavak, thanks so much for starting up Graveyard Keeper again. I love your content and your commentary on this game way back when is the reason why I followed the rest of your content closely. Can't wait to watch every episode the day it's posted hereafter.
16:22 Last Second Word Swap there, he was about to say something profane but his hiccups interrupted him.
And organs don't stack? That is rechid!
YESSSS!
I've been waiting for this the entire day :D
RE: corpse stuff - order of operation doesn't matter until you get to embalming. Then the embalmings that remove red skulls NEED red skulls to work (at least as of last DLC I checked). Organs can be removed in any order. Quality of the final corpse depends on the organs and embalmings (plus rot, surgeon mistakes).
Aavak, if you dig up the three tree trunks at the lighthouse they'll grow back apple trees that you can harvest.
Also, you get the tech for digging sand and clay when you talk to the bishop about the clay bowls
Hey Aavak, have loved your graveyard keeper series for a long time so happy you're playing it again ^w^
real quick thing that i just wanna point out, its good to keep one of each grave decoration because when you study them you get a lot of blue points.
Looking forward to future episodes!
Sand unlocks after you open the church and talk to the bishop afterwards .
I love this series! And I've missed your vids. If I may ask how is everything going!?
Oh you know, keepin' on keepin' on. Same as everyone else right now I imagine xD
Also you could plant your own domesticated trees which yield much more than wild ones which you can bake to for pretty cheap food renewable food
A note regarding 35:00 you can know which organs are and aren't "sinful" with a perk but it does require you to reach a certain plot point to unlock it and then its priced like end-game techs.
Glad you're uploading regularly again. I'm really enjoying your style.
Thank you ^^
Yay! More graveyard keeper!
Aavak body parts have built in stats they give to a corpse everything adds up to give the shown total, it will become important when you start making zombies.
For your question, skull hides 1 red. Blood adds 1 red and hides 1 white.
Don't forget to like the video.
How could one not?
But of course! :-)
Ah! A return of the series that made me love you. I look forward to seeing Dark Aavak again!
Was screaming at my screen aavack you need 4 seeds to plant a field. You don't need to buy more later if you get the right perk there is one that increases the amount of seeds you get from a harvest
have they fixed that? as i always got seeds back yes but always overall less so I would need to go buy more occasionally
Yeah, I always got a net loss of seeds.
From what I know the amount of seeds you get back depends on what fertilizer you use so using only peat you will generally get less back but possible silver and definitely gold fertilizer will usually give back at least as many seeds as you started with and possibly more
@@legonwood yeah i was using gold at that point and still overall got less
PS: Hope all that coffee you're drinking is decaf!!! We don't want Dark Aavak to prevent you from sleeping xD
I really love this series! Your voice is so calming
This game being played by Aavak holds a special place in my heart, it got me through the most stressful uni paper of my existence, by being the only thing that was able to help me to relax. So glad its back and can't wait to see the new content. Thanks, Aavak for All your hard work in giving us great content to watch and enjoy :D.
You're more than welcome :D
Aavak you can look at your tasks and stuff in the tabs next to technology
Loving the series! These episodes always seem too short!
Loving this, it has gotten me to give the game another chance.
You don't need to add red skulls before turning them into white skulls
*Or so the wiki seems to imply*
But on that note, you might as well collect skulls. It'll be a while before you can make perfect bodies, and the skulls have some usesin the future.
That changes during embalming. You need red skulls to allow you to use gold and silver injections
From memory blood and fat will add a white skull even if there are no red skulls. There is reasons with enbalming to add a red skull, but it's been so long I don't remember the specifics. Really enjoying the series, makes me want to fire up the game again myself
you get technology for shoveling riversand after you hold your first sermon, I also forgot that and went on searching in the techtree
You can use skin from the corpse to make paper once you’ve unlocked the paper technology
The fat has been creating new white skulls when you take it out so far
removing a skull but leaving the brain?! diabolical!
i cant wait to binge this series 6492 times like i do with all your other series c:
If I remember correctly skin makes paper, and possibly bat wings as well.
I remember getting stuck on sand to. It was story locked behind something. I think I had to burn a body first
Thanks for all the info, that would have bugged me so much XD
@@Aavak No, you get it from the priest. He gives you the tech to work with clay and sand after unlocking the church.
Feed me
Feed me
Feed me
Feed me, Mortimer
Feed me all night long
"That's right, boy!"
You can do it...
Feed me, Mortimer
Feed me all night long...
Need more of this.
River sand and clay are available through a quest with the bishop after you unlock the church, he asks for pottery which unlocks the ability to gather clay and river sand.
I truly hope that it comes out on the switch too
I hope this series can help you decide if it's right for you :)
@@Aavak you have helped me & I am very proud to say that I purchased the Collector’s edition yesterday after watching your Graveyard keeper let’s plays🥰🥰🥰
Skin is used to make paper and more importantly for armor.
Our Church Great!
I usually rush upgrading my tools so i can be more efficient xD
River sand and clay techs are given after the church opens, talk to the Bishop after first sermon for quests and abilities. 7 mins left of the video so not sure if this was done at the end or not.
2nd! Also, :O wow aavak spoiling us
Also, maybe you can get the sand from glass blowing?
The sand (and also clay) unlock you get from the Bishop story line after fixing the Graveyard.
@@GeorgePantel84 I believe sand is just northwest of the church, beside the river?
The Order in which you remove and add body parts absolutely matters. Also you can recycle stone gravestones and fences like wooden ones. but you can't do it with marble gravestones.
Oh and cremation was unlocked by not mort when you threw the corpse in the river... just look...
The tech was made available, but wasn't unlocked, as that required spiritual skill points.
Thank you for another great video. Cheers :)
Aavak did some Audio Wizardry it seems...
@aavak later on you get a perk that let's you see the skulls on each body part but that is late to end game
the skin is good when you get is for paper/ parchment. Can't quite remember.
Skin can be used for paper, and is needed for both armor and furnace upgrades. I don't remember if it's required for books, but it at least can be used for that.
Rush zombies and quarry if possible. It will drastically speed up tech point gathering by polishing stones and you can sell excess to cory
u can also break down your stone things :D
later on
Was that a metric wallop load or an Imperial wallop load?
I’m so glad you’re playing this again! Loved the first series!
the wiki has a step by step guide on how to get a perfect body. I highly recommend checking it out if you want to get your graveyard up to max.
Ah, a fellow Welsh person. Bendigedig ❤️
That makes sense.
