Hey man, nice guide! I was struggling while scavenging cause I didn't kill any one, being afraid my survivors would regret it and become depressed... Now I know I can do it.
Ugh. I seem to accidentally have deleted someone's comment that asked wheter you should bring materials when scavenging. Try to plan your scavenging with advance, so you can leave your crowbars/hatches at the scavenging place and save 2-3 slots of inventory every trip in order to get more materials.
By day 8 I got both workshops fully upgraded, all the holes boarded up and the door alarm upgrade, a healthy supply of meds and food, but no weapons, and going onto the 9th day I was raided, the bandits killed Pavle, then on the 9th scavenging Marko life was suddenly took by the hand of a AK-wielding bandit. on the 10th day food supplies were low and the last 2 remaining survivors started to starve, I decided not to scavenge and let them sleep to help cure there illnesses, but alas, on the 11th morning my last 2 survivors lost their lives, shot while they were sleeping, gunned down like dogs. anyways I think I did ok for my first time ever playing this game and I would highly recommend, a solid 9/10
MegaRedrum96 you should have one person guard with a knife ( probably Marko) and one person scavenge. I would go to the military base and get weapons from them
On my first playthrough everything was going great until Bruno and Pavle both got wounded during a raid. I only had enough bandages for one of them so I gave them to Pavle since he was a fast runner. I sent out Marco to scavenge for more medical supplies, but I couldn't find any in the safe locations. Then Bruno's wound got really bad and he was dying. I decided to risk it and went to a danger location to find medical supplies. But, unfortunately, Marco was shot and killed. So I sent my wounded Pavle out to scavange and managed to find a bandage. I was really happy until he came home and found that Bruno had died in his sleep due to his wounds. Pavle got broken from the news and refused to move. The next day he killed himself. I made it 23 days.
Another couple of tips: - If you're afraid of losing the last of your meds/food to being raided, take them into a scavenge and leave them in the first loot spot you see. - NEVER FULLY LOOT the FIRST STASH. This allows you to run around the area collecting full inventories and then dumping them in the first stash next to the start of the level Makkes backtracking alot easier. (This also helps when stealing, if you get ALL of your stealing done in one go and then leave the stuff in a stash that isn't considered theft, then you've technically only stolen once) - Leave smokes in areas OTHER than your base, otherwise people will smoke them and they're much better off being traded for useful stuff.
To date... the most epic battle i have with Arica is in the hotel.... stealth kill thug on top floor by walking from door... then stealth kill 1 other thug from the shadows following the first kill... then 1v1 the next thug who was rushing in... 4th thug was killed when he got up the stairs with me waiting in for the kill... The shovel strikes twice... knocking back thugs then Arica rushes forward with another 2 strikes without them every attacking back.
Just my opinion, but on day 4-5 you should raid the house where a son is protecting his parents - you only need to kill the armoured son (then the old folks will be afraid of you and won't attack). This nets you a body armour, a rifle (+maybe a pistol), lots of meds and gun parts - at the cost of only 1 kill (Sad state at most)
I use shovel. You can use the shovel to dig under the house then sneak up behind him (or hide and wait for him to come to you but that takes more time and you might not have enough time to loot the rest of the house).
One thing you forgot - STACK FULLY - makes me crazy when i see lets plays with people leaving a location with stacks only 3/4 or even 1/4 full! WTF! Too many people just do not understand the importance of that as it is CRUCIAL to make the most of your one trip out per day! Also - people need to know that at the start of the game stuff like gunpowder; shells and broken weapons are just a waste of valuable space.
Awesome! You seem to be making useful and good stuff. Why dont your try making like playlists with series for the games? What I mean is make more connected videos. I suppose this might increase your subs because more people will wait on the next video of the series.
Super helpful; I'll try going for valuables as opposed to materials on my next run. What do you recommend building and upgrading first? I wasn't impressed by the vegetable farm.
I usually go for the advanced cooking stove and rat traps, because they seem to pay off fairly quickly. Also getting the hatchet from advanced tool workshop helps a lot in the beginning, since chopping up your house nets you lots of wood.
Nice Guide, helped me out loads! Quesiton: Should I kill people? I mean, In the house with Emil and the female, should I kill them? How much would if affect my character?
Try to avoid killing people that aren't bandits, eg. the old couple, the people at the hospital. Usually if you're carrying a weapon they will run away and you're safe to steal, but if you kill them you will have to deal with depression with your characters, which is a real pain in the ass.
I just started this game and I wonder how you even get the basic tools like crowbar, shovel and knife?? Can't find info about how to make them or find them.
Harry P. Only utility actions, not combat, cause equipment to degrade. Therefore, knives never break but hatchets will after chopping ten pieces of furniture. Both are capable of instant kills from hiding places, but the hatchet deals slightly more damage in open combat. However, the knife can be crafted more easily. In my opinion, the hatchet is the superior choice for virtually all situations.
Is there any use of coffee besides trading like how to brew it and also if its possible make a list of places to scavenge with like marko like go to shelled cottage, quiet house, garage etc. Because after those 3 places i get kinda stuck and dont know what to do after that.
My friend told me with markl first thing to hit up is shelled house, then second night repeat, third night go to the quiet house scare off the old people then loot, fourth night repeat if needed, if you choose to kill the old lady which is recommended she has 2 diamonds on her you could trade that with any extra mess you find to the guy in the garage get an axe then the following night go to the super market kill the raider with the axe trust me it's possible then I think at the church I saw 2 broken shotguns loot that there is weapon parts and the guy at the garage has weapon parts to buy. This is pretty good that my friend said too do.
+Roman Bartley coffee is best for trading when the economy crashed down refer to the radio and it will stop the sadness of coffee drinker (katia, marin and the likes)
I'm using my alcohol mainly for trading. I only let my people drink it when they are so depressed that they don't move at all. But it's always a good idea to have 2-5 bottles at home.
Do you mean how you can't go out to a spot for scavenging during the night? Location availability changes depending on how far into the war you've been. Sometimes waiting for a few days will remove that limitation.
+Cantaretii Zilei so wait for the trader to be called back, after climb up the tower (near the entrance) and backstab the soilder after that (use hachet knife or shovel no crowbar) be sure use arica 'cause she can backstab form behind not the hiding backstab
+Cantaretii Zilei if you have a rifle, or a shotgun ( i recommend assult) and pew pew the soilder, the will get up the tower via the ladder, you can easily kill them by melee or the gun beware sometime they will not use the ladder so gun them down
+Cantaretii Zilei there are maybe 4 or 5 soilders at the entrance so go back to the shelter. the next night sprint towards to the second building/ go the 2nd floor to the leftmost room, there will be a window that you can shoot and a hiding spot nearby.
+Cantaretii Zilei gun a soilder (please allow the recticle to go orange for maximum effeincy (sorry for the misspell)) hide then repeat after that you can freely loot the place
In order to fix weapons you need to have the tool workshop at level 2 from what I remember. Though in my opinion it's a lot better to just get already working weapons from bandits/military guys.
1:58 "and alcohol to cure severe depression" LOL yet another piece of advice we should not get from video games.
Hey man, nice guide! I was struggling while scavenging cause I didn't kill any one, being afraid my survivors would regret it and become depressed... Now I know I can do it.

i survived 21 days but wow it was brutal
What happens if your character doesn't smoke or drink
MegaRedrum96 you should have one person guard with a knife ( probably Marko) and one person scavenge. I would go to the military base and get weapons from them

my deepest condolances. i have just started and I can't find any food already
Great analogy for the depression bit

Arica + shovel = epic pawnage!
She can 1 shot stealth kill and almost kinda stun lock 1v1 battle!
To date... the most epic battle i have with Arica is in the hotel....
stealth kill thug on top floor by walking from door... then stealth kill 1 other thug from the shadows following the first kill... then 1v1 the next thug who was rushing in... 4th thug was killed when he got up the stairs with me waiting in for the kill...
The shovel strikes twice... knocking back thugs then Arica rushes forward with another 2 strikes without them every attacking back.
I got this game yesterday and it seemed deceptively easy but as I watch some tutorials I realise it is actually quiet deep.
Great video and Great Guide. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the tips buddy.

Can you kill him bare handed? What weapon do you use?
I use shovel. You can use the shovel to dig under the house then sneak up behind him (or hide and wait for him to come to you but that takes more time and you might not have enough time to loot the rest of the house).
+GV oh. Cool, thanks! I just bought the game today. lol
You have my like and gratitude friend!
I've only killed one person in the game but it made my character depressed so its nice to know t that you can kill bandits and not be depressed
Not be depressed when you kill bandits is fake. It is less, but there is a depression too
Well if you kill bad people your character doesn't get upset so kill em all at your hearts content, well if you still play at this point😄
One thing you forgot - STACK FULLY - makes me crazy when i see lets plays with people leaving a location with stacks only 3/4 or even 1/4 full! WTF! this is great help appreciate it
This video works. Im a madter at scavenging and stealth.
Nice Guide, helped me out loads!

FruitPanda Thanks dude, helped me out so much here, was unsure about killing innocents but now i know for sure:) Subbed!
I once tried Pavle with knife head to head combat on the Hotel location... never again.
Is there a difference which survivor we use?
What if I dont give any cigarettes to my characters? And should I steal a lot? Or not?
I just started this game and I wonder how you even get the basic tools like crowbar, shovel and knife?? Can't find info about how to make them or find them.
In the metal work bench which you craft in the work shop
Funny and useful Thanks!! :D
how do I keep use of my storage in my backpack
Why is it so easy to kill soldiers with a knife for me? I just run in and press R2 rapidly and Roman never died
thankss for the trick
When my people are sad, what should i do?
Get them to drink alcohol.
Or do good stuff for others.
Thank you very much!
How you recommend starting with main story or personal. Also which is better A knife or an axe?
@@dylandugan76 YES!
marko is broken as fuck so good
Is there any use of coffee besides trading like how to brew it and also if its possible make a list of places to scavenge with like marko like go to shelled cottage, quiet house, garage etc. Because after those 3 places i get kinda stuck and dont know what to do after that.

With marko*
+Roman Bartley coffee is best for trading when the economy crashed down refer to the radio and it will stop the sadness of coffee drinker (katia, marin and the likes)
is pure alcohol best for trading or using to cure depression, surely moonshine would be a much easier alternative but i'm not too sure :P help?
I'm using my alcohol mainly for trading. I only let my people drink it when they are so depressed that they don't move at all. But it's always a good idea to have 2-5 bottles at home.
cool! thx bud!
Am i the only one luring enemys by running then shooting them from cover?
How do you get items like the Mixer, thermo-regulator and heatlamp? I've been looking for them but haven't been able to find them.
***** :)
It has been some time but i'll answer xD U can build those from the workshop
workshop level 3
Is there a way to remove the “can’t get to due to fighting”?
Do you mean how you can't go out to a spot for scavenging during the night? Location availability changes depending on how far into the war you've been. Sometimes waiting for a few days will remove that limitation.
@FruitPanda
Thanks, btw you are so funny!
Wait so running doesn't alert people on my floor? So I could run right up to a person?
It does, but if you're close enough to an enemy you can run up to him, he won't turn around fast enough to act :)
Now, what's the point of creating a knife? It looked like I could do the instant kill thing from a hiding spot with a crowbar.
You can do it with any weapon, it's just that knife is a workshop tier 1 weapon, so you can get it very early in the game.
And can you make a guide named:How to infiltrate the Military Outpost
+Cantaretii Zilei just use arica dont use roman, roman will get sad or broken due to his service at the military

+Cantaretii Zilei gun a soilder (please allow the recticle to go orange for maximum effeincy (sorry for the misspell)) hide then repeat
after that you can freely loot the place
good tips but my survivors are always starving and depressed after that i kill the couple in the quiet house lol
I let them live.
+Nave Mizrahi don't kill at quiet house it will induce sadness to all, why? its all down to the sympathy mechanic
i have a question.How you fix a gun?
In order to fix weapons you need to have the tool workshop at level 2 from what I remember. Though in my opinion it's a lot better to just get already working weapons from bandits/military guys.
Thank!
more more pls :D
When you steal from bandits and soldiers does it make your party go sad panda mode
Not at all, you can murder soldiers and bandits and noone bats an eye :)
FruitPanda thanks
This game is great but it hits you with random events and illness too much that it just becomes pointless
no that makes it fun! lol
