    Body parts is now on Blu-ray! Cemetery man or del amore del amorte is on Blu-ray by shameless region b but works in the us! Death machine extend cut is on a region free Blu-ray on eBay from another country

    • @theboredcyborg

      Thank you for the heads up on these! I actually picked up Body Parts on blu-ray recently. I'll likely show it off in a coming "What's in the Bag?!". I'll have to look into the other two. I really liked Death Machine the first time around, Cemetery Man not so much, surprisingly. I think that'll change the next time around to be honest. Thanks for watching!

    • @MentalDeviant

      @@theboredcyborg cemetery Man is really weird and twisted but I love the movie! Its poetic. I would look at the movie in a figurative way. But I can understand if you're not into gratuitous nudity. but I thought I'd let you know about that released because a lot of people don't know about it. You can find info on blu-ray com . I understand it's hard to upgrade everything. that movie is kind of worth an upgraded because it comes with the English dub and the Italian with English subtitles plus it's uncut. And it's called by it's true name Delmore dellamorte which means of the Love of the death.
      Cemetery man does not do it justice.
      I would actually check out everything from that director and he only has about five movies. Two of them were written by Dario argento demons 1 and 2. If you really like death machine it's worth upgrading because it has a lot longer extended cut but sadly it was never released here, even though it was the director's intent and here's the link for eBay. It's region free. Now you might find another better release in another region if you're using a region free player. This is the only release I can find of the extended cut. But I heard about it, I've been looking for a while

    The hitcher, excellent, one of the best, was just listening to Mark Isham's soundtrack... superb! Nice collection Mike, you bear an uncanny resemblance to the guy out of the Spanish horror 'Tesis', another great film that scared the shit out of me when I first saw it. What about Giallo movies? Didn't see 'Blade in the Dark' or 'Stagefright' or 'Inferno' or 'Profondo Rosso'... And have u seen the BBC TV productions of MR James's ghost stories, esp. 'Whistle and I'll Come to You' and 'The Signalman'? The scariest things I have ever seen. (Oh, and 'Pulse' (aka Kairo)) Thanks again for an interesting channel.

    • @theboredcyborg
      @theboredcyborg  2 года назад

      The Hitcher is one of the best from the '80s, no doubt. Such an underrated film.
      I still need to see Tesis, especially since it stars my doppelgänger, apparently.
      What's in the video is only a portion of my horror DVDs at this point, maybe 50%. With that said, I do own A Blade in the Dark on a double feature. I do not own Stagefright, but would like to. I have Inferno on blu-ray.
      I'll have to look into those BBC TV productions of which you speak... They sound interesting. I do have Kairo, have seen it, and really enjoy it. It should be in the video somewhere...
      Either way, thank you for the recommendations, and thanks for watching!

    I like ghosts of Mars too . Even considered upgrading to Blu-ray. Since it's like $8 on amazon. John Carpenter's The worst is still pretty damn good! Plus it's got a grey cast! It is a travesty that The hitcher does not have a Blu-ray. It deserves a 4K or a criterion collection or at least a damn scream factory! what the hell are they thinking!

    • @theboredcyborg
      @theboredcyborg  4 года назад +1

      Great question. In terms of quality, on my 4K TV, blu-rays undoubtedly look the best. Some older DVDs don’t look as hot on said TV, but it doesn’t bother me: I just want to watch the film. My rules are as such: if it’s available on Blu-ray, I’d prefer the Blu-ray; if it’s only available on DVD, then that will suffice, and the same goes for VHS-if the only way to physically own the film is on VHS, that will do. I hope this answers your question! Thanks for watching.

    • @theboredcyborg
      @theboredcyborg  5 лет назад +1

      Great question. It really, really depends. If a movie sucks, but it's fun, I'll usually hold onto it. If a movie sucks and is boring, and, say, I rate it something like 1 1/2 stars out of 5, it usually goes. I remember watching 'The Passion of Darkly Noon' a year or so ago, and I knew as soon as the credits rolled that it was exiting the collection. Fucking boring, unimaginative, and shitty. It's gotta go. It's a very subjective decision and to be honest, not too many films end up leaving the collection. However, every once in a while, I "purge" the collection. I find I pick up things impulsively sometimes, then ask myself later: Why? I pick up movies for so cheap, that in my mind, it warrants it. But, it's good to go over your collection once in a while and see if there are movies that you'll frankly never watch. It actually serves as a de-stressing agent for me, lol. I call it curating. Great question--that was fun. What are your thoughts?
