You ARE a musician. You are. you are are are are are. You dont get an album that continues to be hugely magnificent for 10 years without you ALL being great musicians.
@@sammieslaterjr.8982 JACKASS, wildlife was the second album, the sophomore composition(s), in all reality... they have a lot of stuff older than their 'first album'
I love this man and this band with all my heart. They got me through high school and college and helped me fight through days I never thought I could. They’ve stayed in their lane, haven’t ruined their reputation with awful actions/choices, and have made some of the best art for ears out there
he seems so much happier and more comfortable speaking in this interview compared to the old ones. and I don't think la dispute could ever put out a bad song, or something that would make you think 'jordan isn't a musician' lol this band and his lyrics changed my life.
I pray that everyone is solid on their journeys nowadays. La Dispute left a mark on my soul and I will never allow myself to lose sight of the mystic poetic magic this band has created. Thank you and your crew, Jordan. 🙏🏾
Thing is, I've been listening to La Dispute for about 5 years now. I was gonna see them live in May 2020 in Cologne, Germany, until Covid came around. I've never heard an interview though. I was always sure Jordan was gonna be some crazy junkie, always on the bad shit, because how are you gonna write those lyrics being sober? Hearing him talk like this made me change my mind. I feel like he's completely aware of his words. This dude might be among the best lyricists of the 21st century.
I never got that vibe but I see how you'd see it. From my perspective I sensed a man/men who knew how to translate a truly broken heart into sound. Pain into healing, from their hearts to ours as cheesy as it sounds. Truly peak lyricism in this day and age you're spot on there
I wish more people could hear La Dispute and truly listen to the lyrics and the music. It’s such an emotional trip in every song. Thankyou for making more music. I can’t wait for even more! ♥️ I feel such sadness in his voice just listening to him here. I hope he is really okay. Stress to create is overwhelming. Time is important for new experiences and new music. 3 years was a much needed break! Love the vibes on this new album. 👏🍄🦌
So about 3 days before Panorama came out, someone at my school had killed himself. He was in my year and although we weren't friends or anything (in fact on occasions we had been the opposite) it still hit me hard. Panorama had helped me so much come to terms with it and helped me carry on with life.
Whether you were mates or not - it's awful to lose someone you know like that. It's traumatic and jarring. Sorry you had to experience it but I'm glad the album to help you through it. LD helped me through something pretty similar. They're an amazing band.
@@hrhoniball7814 thanks. I never thought something like that could impact me that much. They are such an amazing band and this album came at just the right time.
The album is wonderful, Jordan. Every album you guys put out reinvents your sound and I get to fall in love with you all over again. RHODONITE AND GRIEF is your magnum opus.
Your music has saved my life. For 7 years now. Also, we have the same birthday. (Date) 9/3/96. Thank you. Your poetry reminds me of the suffering of addiction I've seen my entire life. You remind me a lot of myself. I love hearing your thoughts!! Please come to Tulsa. Vanguard. La Dispute is the one band that has seriously saved my being, healed me in ways, and ive never gotten to see you guys live.
La Dispute (Jordan Dryer’s *floating head and hands*) About New Album.. I can’t wait to catch them on tour, just saw TA with Balance last weekend, this is going to be a good year. 🤘🏼
IM SEEING THEM LIVE THIS DECEMBER AND JORDAN AND JEREMY ARE BOTH MY FAVORITE ARTISTS EVER. I am going to cry so might as well not wear any makeup. If you guys catch me at the ATL concert I wanna meet you :). Bless!!!!
I wish you'd come back to Calgary. When you opened for Alexisonfire someone choked a dude out in the moshpit of your show and you stopped as a result of it. That always stuck with me, and I feel like might influence why you don't come back. It's really not like that here and I hope one day you consider returning.
this deserves so much more attention, i’ve seen la dispute more times than i can count on my hands, & i’ve sobbed more often than not. la dispute means so much to me, the lotus is tattooed into my arm. i have so much appreciation for everything they have put out, THANK U JORDAN for making me feel like i maybe never was entirely alone, for years.
I love how concise and soft spoken he is.
La Dispute helped me through some of the worst days of my life, I have so much love for these guys, superr stoked they're back and making new music.
same here. adore em
I second this statement with my soul
You ARE a musician. You are. you are are are are are. You dont get an album that continues to be hugely magnificent for 10 years without you ALL being great musicians.
Love this and sooooo agree. It was proof he is a musician when he described how he tried to make the spoken word parts of each song climax.
Wildlife is only 8 years old tho

This may sound really stupid since they’re a spoken word band but I’ve never actually heard him talk
If you're a big fan of wildlife, I'd recommend listening to "conversations" really cool to hear him explain every song.

Their first EP came out in 2006, that birthdate would place him at 10 years old. He's much older than that.

I love these guys, very nice new album althought nothing will match the genius of Wildlife which is in my opinion the best written album of all time.
Love the background music. It is reminding me of an old school video game. Super Mario 64 maybe?

Hope you guys come to KCMO
