Luther is one of the most complex character I've ever seen. The movie is also tense, always keeping you at the edge of the seat. The antagonists are smart. Good film.

Right, but it was during the Oscar so white years back in 2015-2016. All the nominees in the acting categories were exclusively white. He won the SAG award which is voted by only actors

Yep, the man's done a lot of great things, tackling knife crime being no small part of it. I can see many actors playing James Bond, but I can only see one man playing Luther.

The wild part about "Luther" is that the BBC (UK TV) had some bomb episodes of that show, that I got to see years back!
This was before Idris Elba blew up internationally, and so if you can still find old episodes you'll see a young Idris giving 100% on every case. His character had a wild cockney accent (his real voice), a long detective coat, he had sex with chicks, he had a crack head sister, and a huge intensity that kept you coming back as a viewer. Now it's a movie finally!
The Wire and multiple movies made Idris a global star. 6:15 Stop with the revisionism. You feel me?
