If i understand now it is an efficacy issue from poorly converted N24 pushes my attention more to an alternate distribution method of the chemical. If temperature is the key to total amatraz N24 convertion seems like a no brainer to me that sublimation would be the go to. I know of one company that offers the product but it is not available on the small scale. As for my operation I will not use amatraz anymore but it will be interesting to see what the future is for the beloved chemical that has served us well for so many years.

So I used thymol 1/2 way through the apivar treatment, later in fall. It shut the brood nest down. It also immediately dropped off the phoretic mites. Did the synergy of the two products increase the efficacy of the amitraz or did the thymol activate the bee behaviour which increased mite drop?
On the Balkans they use it since varroa arrived. I think the Amitraz name is Tactic or something you put drops on your pets for ticks protection. They use thin cardboard strips to drop the Amitraz on it 3 - 5 drops.. put it on a piece of wire, light it like a cigarette and push on the bottom of the hive to burn out. And I think they do it a lot.. similar to vaporization of OA. Only thing that this is a poison. So you judge how good of a practice it is ? They have a say here that Amitraz saved the bees. I never used it in my hives

Yeah, I used this one in Bulgaria as well, very good results, but majority of beekeeping community here rely on Oxalic Acid dribble method.
