Imagine iron man shooting a laser from his hand. A circle would be where the laser originated, in this case the palm. Then draw a center line along the direction in which the laser is going. Now depending on what type of laser, the beam width will be different. Usually I like a laser that grow gradually in size, with the thinnest at the origin. The steeper the line the more powerful the blast will feel. Back to the origin of the laser. If your laser is smooth and streamline and direct (like silver surfer) you’ll connect the circle to the width of the beam using a curve and connects the two and streamlines them. If your laser is explosive from let’s say a laser machine gun, you’ll have have to draw lines or triangular shapes that stem out from the origin, you can now erase the circle and the center line. Usually I leave a hint of the circle left to suggest the source. And from there you simple add the necessary effects, for example for explosive lasers, I like to put outward shooting speckles around the source to give it more character, really darken the source object, cuz the laser is so bright, everything behind it will look much darker in comparison. If the laser is second light source, remember to take that into consideration when shading the rest of your character/thing.
The first guy's art is like meeting that level999 boss and thinking "I can do it, I can work hard and eventually surpass him!" Then the second artist shows up as the level9999 boss and you realise you've barely begun your journey. It's both scary and exciting that the skill levels are so far apart between these two, and yet both are way better than me. Art, it takes a lot of grinding for levels. But reaching those points where you can see how far you've come, it always makes it worth the journey. And every milestone counts, each one deserves celebration. From hitting level 10, to 100, to 1000. A long journey is not a reason to give up. A long journey is a reason to be excited. I hate endings, so perhaps I am biased. To know that I will, so long as I put in the effort always improve, makes me know that every drawing I do was worth it. Even the failed drawings were worth it. Where I am now (Level 207 probably) is a place I feel proud of. It's such a low number really, but so much higher than it was 2 years ago. Back when I was only able to do stickmen. I know I can only get better from here, and that's just what I'll do. Giving up is the only way to stop yourself from becoming a pro. Giving up is the only way to fail.
How do you define what "level" you're at? 😂 That's funny. But I really like your message. Art gets me excited. Lately, I have been in a place where I'm pleased with my style and results most of the time, and I'm becoming faster now. I aspire to be so fast that a 1200 page comic project won't be an issue. It's exciting.
I'd say I am around level 3/1000. I honestly don't understand how to practise since my drawings look like Kindergarden drawings and I am not sure if drawing completely wrong will make me any better.
GermanSniper Are you still drawing? If so, then there are different ways to practice without being able to draw well yourself. Tracing drawings is actually a good idea as you can get a feel for why some things were made in a some ways, while also being more confident in your lines to make the work cleaner. There’s also the ‘DrawABox’ course online. It’s free, and takes you through the basics of traditional (realistic) drawing. The first few lessons are invaluable to any type of drawing style, so try to go through those when you get the time. However, DrawABox has no humans in the drawing exercises, but rather mecha and vehicles. Thus, try to trace gestures and skulls in your desired style (realistic, manga, etc..) and keep practicing! Drawing will take a lot of time and dedication, and will be frustrating at the start. But you can eventually improve the drawings at a steady and consistent pace. Remember, drawing’s main purpose is to de-stress you, not pile on more. If you need to take a break or just don’t want to draw for a while, then stop until you’re ready to draw again.

That's not a sample of real cyberpunk but still for artists who don't actually know the specifications of this genre well it seems to be quite good. I can even admit that the amateur's work was a bit closer to the standards of cyberpunk at least due to the circumstances of the appearance of this genre. Amazing!! Mikey has some serious competition on this channel now But in terms of entertainment only the Stream you did with Tony and Carlos comes close to this More content with Uchida-sensei please!
He did extremely bad, i think. I'm an amateur and an amateur is actually almost at the same level as professional. Only difference is amateurs don't get payed and professionals are naturally a tad bit better since they invest in art as work. He's at beginner level, in conclusion. Nonetheless, yes he does have potential.
When I was a bad drawer, I tend to draw characters small and one time, I drew them big then it turns out that when you draw bigger, you can draw lines more specifically, it's tiring but worth it. Also, it's a good way to start when you're a beginner. Starting small( when you draw the head big, the rest of the body will not fill your paper) may not seem effective but it really is.
This girl just intensifies an opinion I already had. All the professional artists I know are humble. Probably because they recognize that to get where they arrived they had to go through the amateur stage as well. Attacking artists in training is a beginner's thing.
Cyber punk isn't dead yet! A recent french manga went a bit famous, it won a famous "concours", it's called Green Mechanical. It's more of a cyber-mecha genre lol but it's still in french manga trends

*When you're scouter breaks from reading someone's power level*
"Yeah I got it from a cereal box"
Okay but Ushida’s drawing was lit, the guy actually looked hot
*crying in japanese*
no longer crying in spanish
WE HAVE EVOLVED
"Amateur" if HE'S an amateur, that puts me in a very bad place...
i just discovered this channel + pro vs amateur series, and i LOVE this guy's character designs!! of course when the pros do it it looks more refined but his character ideas are sooo unique, so cool!!! *_*
This cyberpunk Rohan kishibe is looking good
s-h-i-t
I wonder how will look Heaven's door
WOW, she just draws fast with no real helping lines and the eyes come out so perfect, i have a really really hard time drawing eyes so they look the same
Amazing!! Mikey has some serious competition on this channel now
But in terms of entertainment only the Stream you did with Tony and Carlos comes close to this
More content with Uchida-sensei please!
This was so much fun viewing! Thank you!
Excelente video muchachos
Dante Lowell creo que los japoneses pensaran que esto también es inglés
@smellyweeb ¡HOLA CHICA!
Look on the bright side, she said she might use your character in a future manga.
That's going down in history right there.
I didn't think the first one was bad at all, but dang when she started drawing hers I was extremely shocked, how does one become that talented
"JoJo...was that cyberpunk?"
Bruh 🤣🤣🤣
theallaroundnerd UNIQUE
全く違うね
I don't know this artist, but she's very entertaining and likable, great art too.
"*Jojo is a unique genre*" accurate
He's like the type of guy I think about when I read fanfictions
When the pro started drawing it felt like *the pencil was moving the hand not the opposite*
*cries in japanese*
"Imma go faint"
This guy is such a big mood
I think they both did a great job.
That is not bad for an amateur. He's got potential!
Wow! it really amazing to see the difference in skill in the drawing one made by a amateur and a others made by a professional
Amateur draw the eyes bad but he did the head really good
drew*
"When there's people like this around, we should all just give up" XD
She's so damn good, I think I'm in love ^_^
To me, her character design sense feels a bit like if Hirohiko Araki were into cyberpunk
I thought the dude was NihongoGamer lmao
Edit: upon further inspection, I realize he IS NihongoGamer which is cool too.
i like how when he said jojo i was literally reading jojo on my phone
When I was a bad drawer, I tend to draw characters small and one time, I drew them big then it turns out that when you draw bigger, you can draw lines more specifically, it's tiring but worth it.
Also, it's a good way to start when you're a beginner. Starting small( when you draw the head big, the rest of the body will not fill your paper) may not seem effective but it really is.
The commentary is a bonus with the art
And treefus XD
"I like dirty elevators"
I'm not sure why I laughed so much. You guys are great! I love this channel and she is so humble and adorable!
NIHONGO!?!?!
Both drawings were actually good tbh
Love your channel
This girl just intensifies an opinion I already had. All the professional artists I know are humble. Probably because they recognize that to get where they arrived they had to go through the amateur stage as well. Attacking artists in training is a beginner's thing.
The girls name is close to *Sasuke Uchiha"
Just a sketch but already looks amazing
The first one kinda looks like someone cosplaying as the one the pro drew.
Even after a couple years trying to improve my own art (casually), it's still only about as good as the "Amateur".
When I was LISTNENING to the vid,i didn't need subtitles and I was already laughing!
OTAKU ALERT.
I thought he was tengen from the thumbnail. When she started drawing my jaw just dropped, she's so talented. I'll go and check her manga now
me after watching this be like: *gets inspiration* aight imma try drawing now :D
Also me: i give up.
Cyber punk isn't dead yet! A recent french manga went a bit famous, it won a famous "concours", it's called Green Mechanical. It's more of a cyber-mecha genre lol but it's still in french manga trends
Guys just so you don't know she is wearing that because she has a cold
