The Vine is like a high rise hotel. The other ones are spread out with lots of different pools and different areas. At secrets akumal you can swim with sea turtles.
Great, thank you; we are going in October (2023) and have never been to Cancun. With such a high level of service do we need to tip for every person every moment they do something for us? I don't want to be uneducated in this arena. We have no car; is it within walking distance to shops, or is there a hotel shuttle...? Should we make spa reservations or evening restaurant reservations before we leave Canada? (hi from Canada) These are those little details that i look for in videos; thank you!
As far as tipping, we would tip our servers at meals and bar tenders. The difference is that you don't need to tip a percentage. Just a couple bucks. I was told once that if you leave the tip on the table, they all split it. If you put it in their hand, it's theirs to keep. If we had an exceptional server, we would tip directly to them. As far as housekeeping , sometimes we would take travel size bath and bodyworks products that we get on clearance. We will leave them to housekeeping and they seem to love it. As far as reservations, we never needed them at restaurants. Just show up. You would need a spa reservation, but we always waited till we were there, as they would come around the pool and offer special deals. You don't need a car. You can schedule excursions which will provide transportation. Or get a bus, ect...
We book through apple vacations and transportation is included. Check with who you book it through. If it's not included, check out Canada transfers. We used them once and they were very reasonable.

Heck, no. No specific restaurant. It's amazing. Food food food. 24 hours a day. Amazing breakfast buffet plus a sit down breakfast. Lunch buffet, lunch sit down restaurant, plus poolside grilled feast daily. 6 restaurants for dinner. Order as much as you want. 24 hour coffee shop w pastries and sandwiches. A sports bar with burgers, wings, etc... oh ya and 24 hour room service. All inclusive means what it says. Eat what you want. Whenever you want. As much as you want. Pay for nothing. Just need money for tips. They will have special bottles of wine for an additional fee, but all alcohol is also included. Top shelf liquors too. You will love it.
Few questions for you -I know the name comes from the wine theme and looks like they have a ton, do they have more free wine than other all inclusives or is most of it an up charge? -Have you been to Live Aqua, Unico 2087, Secrets Maroma Beach, and would you recommend any of these over Secrets the Vine? -Are there many free activities? I dont think they have more free wine than other resorts. I have been to Maroma and would choose Maroma over The Vine. It depends on what you like. The Vine is a high rise hotel. Very compact. And Maroma is more spread out with many pools and beautiful grounds. As far as the free activities, they have what all the other all inclusive resorts offer. I think Sandals is the only one that offers more activities, but it's very expensive. Go hope this helps.

The food at Secrets is pretty darn good. Now, it's not Las Vegas food. Which is amazing. As far as the bars closing at 11, I'm not sure. We are usually back to the room after the shows.
Congratulations 🎊 You will love this place. We did not do any excursions. If you want to do excursions, I would book them at the resort. NOT THE AIRPORT. Great video. What made the other resorts so much better? Me and the wife are going to Secret The Vine in 2 weeks. I would really appreciate any of your suggestions
The other resorts were brand new and more spread out. We like the high rise look for Vegas, but when we go to the beach, we like the more spread out resorts with meandering pools. Remember that it is all inclusive, so when we go to eat, we order many different entrées so we can try more items. Also, if you bring your own Yeti style cup, they will be happy to fill it w your favorite beverage. 😉
at 14 minutes shes says not a very big beach?......Its bigggg....like 10 kilometeres long. Is there a better beach in Australia?....because its the best in the western hemisphere.
Great video but would recommend investing in the gimble or some type of stabilizer. Wanted to show my wife but she got a headache from the video being too shaky :(

Ok. You do not need to exchange your US dollars. Also, if you need change for tips, they will make change for you at the main desk. You are in for a great trip, and if you have never done all-inclusive before, you will be hooked. The best way to vacation.
Thanks for the comment. The sargassum wasn't awful when we were there but that was 1 year ago. That seems to change with weather. I would recommend going on TripAdvisor. Read the current comments and Q&A section. They usually ya'll about the seaweed.

As far as kayaks, or water sports at the beach area, I think they do have them at a desk by the poolside restaurant Sea salt. I didn't see any out when we were there, but the water was extremely rough. Red flag the whole time.
Hmmmm. We did not get preferred club. It does give you access to the rooftop pool. I guess you should decide if it is in the budget or not. I don't think you will miss out if you do not get preferred club at this Secrets Resort.
We just got back home from 10 days at the Vine (Secrets). We took the preferred guest package for $250.00 per day. Was it worth it? NO....nothing special there at all. The hotel is beautiful and everyone was polite. There really are no special perks for that kind of money! We found really no entertainment except for piano music and kareoke. That's not entertainment to me. Thought they would have some shows. I would not call this a resort. It is a hotel on the beach. Pools are nice, but the private pool had a ladder, no steps. The private bar was open to anyone. Again. do not get the preferred package..waste of money.

Sandra Cain - When I stayed the best spot for seafood was the beachside bar/restaurant. It was almost all that was served - from ceviche, oysters, etc. You’ll have to hit that spot on your next visit. :)

We have never been required to wear a wristband at any secrets resort. In not sure a to how strict they are about guests coming in. 🤔

STV is top notch in many ways. Just a sexy resort. Quiet. Beautiful ocean, very rough. 10 miles north is much more calm

We have never been to breathless. I heard that it is more of a party place. Everyone that I've talked to says that it is very nice.

Its a tie. We loved Secrets Akumal. You can swim with sea turtles there right off the beach. And Secrets Cap Cana in Punta Cana was AMAZING.
