G’Day John :) Thanks mate, awesome as usual, that Bxh7 pattern was a great learn for me, I felt a little sorry for Magiknight, but they certainly did well and gave a great game
Hi John.. Great videos, very educational.. A friend suggested you play 18. Ng6 (check), and if Ke8 then Bxb5 with a discover attack on the rook? And if 18. Ng6 and then fxg6 Rf3 check and then when Ke8 Bxb5 check with a discover attack on the rook again? Would love some resposne from you on this, to see if we're missing anything.
calvinandhobbesdk 18.Ng6+!? would have been very interesting. I'm looking at this game again, and the comp approves of that move! Best is apparently 18...Nxg6 19.hxg6 Rxd3 20.gxf7 Kxf7 21.Qg6+ Ke7 22.Rxd3 Bxd3 23.Ba3+ Kd7 24.Qf7+ Kc8 25.Qxe6+ Kb8 26.Bd6+ intending 27.Bc7! (Black's rook would be hanging on g8 if he captures the bishop). Crazy line! Thanks for alerting me to this possibility.
hey john, interesting game...shows how being too focused on one aspect of the game (attacking king side) can really get you into trouble...luckily your opponent misplayed it this time :) this may be presumptuous but could you play a dragon sicilian as black? i've been playing it but i've been having trouble gaining advantages...it would be instructive to see you play it
Gabriel D Hey, GabrielD - thanks for your comment. I've played the Dragon only once or twice, but I'll try it again some time! Appreciate the suggestion.
I'm not gonna lie, I always root for you, John, but I felt bad for this guy... he should've won... :-(
ThinkingSk3ptically Haha, no worries. My opponent did play a strong game.
That blind spot was amazing. It really shows what even the top-tier can miss.
TheWheatOne Yes! It wasn't a simple move to find, but I would expect myself to get it right the vast majority of the time.
Most interesting game. In common with others felt sorry for this bloke. Losing when he was ahead on the clock too; harsh!
number94 Thanks for watching.
I miss the triple upload! Haha. Great video my friend, the Sicilian is my favorite defense! very instructive. :)
ByRTD yO Thanks!
I'd have to say, this guy played pretty well for being 1700. Too bad he slipped up at the end!
sharpears He played a solid game indeed.

Patrick Oliver Thanks, Patrick!
Felt like I was watching kingscrusher with you playing such absurdity.

French Defence... boring! =P
ThinkingSk3ptically Man, sucks that you were forced to watch it :P
No, no. The game was pretty nice, actually! That was just my general thought on the French Defence...
ThinkingSk3ptically French Defense hater :P :)
