Good review but just a correction - The older gen white car has a 7 speed dry clutch which has been problematic (google mechatronic issues). We got rid of ours and bought the latest model in reef blue like your review. This is a completely different car with the 2 litre ea888 and 6 speed wet clutch dog. We recently lowered it on eibach springs and had a TVS engineered ecu tune and (because this dsg can handle the extra power) .It’s amazing.
I have the 2017 model dsg stage 1 tuned with dsg tune 250bhp 400nm got ram air filter back box and res delete had absolutely no problems so far not to say the dsg won't go bang but it hasn't yet runs lovely 💯👍
Once again dankie Mkhaya... Keep doing the good review... Since we are in this high fuel price crises... Try including the fuel consumption and common issues
The silver one is actually the 5th generation ( we can call it the 5.5 in a way) while the blue one is the 6th generation but a great review nonetheless.
Correction: It's the 5th and 6th generation. Polo doesn't have a 7th Gen yet. The siilver one is 5th generation facelift meanin 5.5 gen. It's codename is 6R/6C but that is not a Generation but a codename... A lot of people have that confused
@Lyon Lyda If so, we would be on Gen 15🤷🏽♂️ by now. I understand that the codename of this car messes with a lot of people, but we have to respect the car. Especially RUclipsrs who make car videos, No one ever mistakes the Golf Gens because it's taken more seriously (No one ever called a Golf 7.5 a Golf 8, everyone understood it's a facelift). Polos have come into their own now and deserve to be named correctly... Car content creators should atleast be the ones who get the shii right
The old one is the 5th generation not fifth. New one is the 6th gen. I understand how people get confused because the code is 6C, but that does not refer to the generation. Also old one is a 7 speed. The new one is the 6 speed.
Very good review. I’m caught in this dilemma right now. Around $18000 AUD (Australia) for 2016 polo GTI (around 100,000ks) or $28000 for 2018 GTI (around 50,000ks). New one is def prettier and I like the idea of a 2l for tuning but I think I’ll go the older model as the value is much better.
The older one is actually better for tuning...mod for mod it is slightly faster due to the less weight and having the traditional ea888.3 instead of the newer ea888.3B
@@johntracyb1 John, how were you driving this car to have issues on a 1.8L S-Turbo 7S DSG? It takes a reeeeaaaallly bad driver to damage that clutch. I have a Polo 1.4 GTi 7S. It had a mechatronic replacement at 87000KM (When i was a reeeeeeaaaaallly bad driver) its now on 230000KM and i've never had problems with the clutch ever since learning the right way of getting the most out of it.
yes but there are many restyiling, it actually changes a lot even in the same generation (told by a guy who had a 2018 Polo and now is waiting a 2022 Polo GTI, there are so many different things)
Regardless of the AW GTi and it’s Predecessor, I’m still a Died-Hard 6C GTi Fan🎈❤️

True 👍
Great to see them side by side in that review, amazing job you are doing

i always argue with people about this , they say the 6th gen is polo 8 lol
The silver one is the 5th generation or 5.5. The blue one is the 6th generation.
Great review my friend, thanks from New Zealand. I only have the new one but they're both great cars.
You’re welcome buddy🙏🏽
I just got the new one and they are fun cars!
Great review mate, Im driving the new 2021 polo gti and hey no regret at all
Brilliant car, enjoy all the miles
Your review are on point 🔥🔥🔥👌👌
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I have to agree!
The silver one polo Mk5 gti also called as 6R or 6C, that's the naming of chassic. The blue one is Mk6 gti, As SA called it polo 8.
Great review! Polo 1.8 gti has 250Nm and 7 speed dsg.
Emba , you gotta do one ya 2020 vs the latest one🙏🤭
I have one that’s even better coming soon, hope you’ll like it😎🤝🏽
@@embakubmotoring I don't regret my subscription 🙏❤️
I still love this model

they tend to say facelifts are other gens lol

You Hundred percent right.
I love the silver one. The 6c😂
Great Video mate!
Thanks a lot🙏🏽
Forgetting the 6C is the only option for manual and 3 doors. DSG has many issues after time and less torque
Great video G keep it up 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks a lot🙏🏽

Get the new one Gary we had major issues with the previous model 7 speed dry clutch dsg
Hope you went for a 2018 onwards model for reliability of the dsg

Lovely vid, very well done
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Beautiful review 👏👌
The new polo he is reviewing is specifically a gta+, which has keyless start and digital dash, but the standard new gti doesnt
imo the old one is more fun to drive
Only 410km range on full tank??? It's not friendly on fuel .
Great review bro❤
We were driving it hard, you can get 700km on a tank.
Thanks a lot man🙏🏽
its only a 40 LITER tank i can get around 600 km on a tank 7.5 compsumtion
polo aw with leather seats is this a standard option?
It’s optional, standard it comes with alcantara
The new gti 😍
Nice review, i had the 6R (1.4 twincharged gti)... worst car i ever owned. considered this new model, but changed brands completely and no regrets
Why’s that bro?
@roshaanghani1709 dynamically the polo is very safe. So tends to understeer. I wanted lift off oversteer and more dynamic chassis balance
Is this the pre face lifted version?
New model all together
Well now it is
So that led strip across the grill is an optional extra with the new gti? I’m looking all over for it
@@KPcpt I don’t think so, it’s standard
Unless if you’re talking I’m about the Polo because I’m talking about the Golf 8 GTI, with the Polo I have no idea
on point, but polo has only 6 generations
yes but there are many restyiling, it actually changes a lot even in the same generation (told by a guy who had a 2018 Polo and now is waiting a 2022 Polo GTI, there are so many different things)
I own the new one :)
excellent
The superturbo version was the best
The new one doesn't look bigger, IT IS BIGGER, The old one is useless
No polo 7 shem
The old one is better and much nicer and better quality designed by Walter Da Silva, while the new one is ugly
Polo gti 7 > polo gti 8
Mk5 better
