As travel vloggers, we've often been asked why we left our high-paying advertising jobs and our home in Bombay to become digital nomads. In this vlog, we'll share our reasons and give you a glimpse into our adventurous lifestyle.
After volunteering, we set out to explore Seoul. Our itinerary included a visit to Ikseon-dong, but on the way, we were drawn by the sound of traditional music and ended up witnessing a beautiful Korean wedding ceremony organised by Korea Tourism. Korea is doing a lot this year to promote tourism, and events like these can be seen throughout the country.
Continuing our journey, we encountered a group of Ajushis (elderly men) and joined them for a fun game. A little further along, the delicious aroma of fried chicken led us to a cosy local restaurant filled with Ajushis and Ajummas enjoying chicken and drinks. We ordered chicken, and a friendly uncle suggested we try the famous makgeolli.
Nearly reaching Ikseon-dong, we stumbled upon Bungeoppang, a treat we'd only seen in K-dramas. Finally, we arrived in Ikseon-dong and found an adorable photobooth. Reetu straightened her hair and got creative, thanks to the makgeolli.
Our next stop was the Instagram-famous Cheongsudang Cafe, with its out-of-this-world interior. Although we had our itinerary, we realised we were living our dream in Korea, not as tourists but as locals. As digital nomads, we enjoy the freedom of slow travel, making our own itinerary and experiences.
We ended the day feeling proud of our journey and the courage it took to embark on this adventure.
