This is why live poker needs to be in a regulated environment. Even though there’s no 100% of there to not be any cheating, better to be safe than sorry. Such examples could be dealer palming chips from the pot and putting in toke box, deck possibly being stacked, or players introducing fake poker chips (Borgata tournament scandal).

75% of the players in the stakes games are scammers or people with dubious reputations. Some are poker pros, and others are businessmen.
There are many ways to set up a legit home game for any stakes the players want to play. Just find a legitimate dealer, there are hundreds all around in the card rooms you play at every day. And yes, some might say they can't because they don't want to risk their license, but you will find one that would be willing to deal. You all pay that dealer the same amount out of your own pockets and allow for a tip pool as well. Dealer brings the chips, the cards, and no one else is allowed to touch them. This scenario happens all across the country all the time, I know because I've watched and played in these kinds of games. Letting the "host" of the game manage the game, or someone that none of the other players has ever met is just a case for being scammed.
Mars is so shady. Nick and Wesley May have suspect backgrounds but at least they seem to have integrity. I don’t believe Wesley has personally lost $20m in 1 day. He was visibly shaken when he lost $1.5 to Dawn in that $3m pot.

only left 250k and you played super high stack poker. in that game you lost 100k in one poker hand. you know that you only left with 150k.

150k is still alot of money but if you lose quick from 1,000,000 you will feel really terrible and 150k feels like garbage.

If you play a home game for millions, you will be in trouble. Those poker scammers that just never go to jail and disapear from the scene are stealing millions and since poker is shady, there are no implications. Just think what would've happen if there was a collud between a dealer and a player in a casino and they found out the cards were marked! Everyone involved would be in jail or worse for much smaller amounts

It’s a pretty simple way to solve cheating situations like this. Whoever hosts the game has to provide the dealer and cards. The cards must be brand new and inspected before play… it’s pretty simple stuff. Everyone is adults nobody is saying you’re going to cheat it’s just to prevent it from ever happening. I mean at least you get to find out what kind of friend he is, not at the expense of a million dollars tho lol
