As someone that just started this game, this video answered basically all the questions I didn't even know I had, and that in 4 minutes, amazing video.
Now this is really helpful! Awesome to know there's mechanics like: being able to heal another team member via QTE and getting out of combo locks via switching.
EXACTLY THE TUTORIAL I WAS LOOKING FOR!!! THANK YOU!!! When I started PGR I was freaking brainstorming alone about what's the purpose of switching if the other characters could just support with QTE and what other perks does QTE have other than triggering the QTE skills. Glad to know the healing technique.
Thanks for the guide, I finally managed to beat Aife Memory Rescue by switching constantly. It really break me out of my habit of staying at one character and clicking the QTE as soon as it's available.
Another important note about the Da Vinci 4set: the 4set effect also allows/forces the other off-field character to do a qte EVEN when they're still supposedly in qte cooldown disclaimer: dont know if this will get nerfed in the future or not, but for global, it seems to be the case atm
Add some other tips that might help fellow players (as I recall that Rex didn't cover it on the video, but maybe I'm wrong and missed it, LOL): 1. You can also trigger qte, by matrixing and tap one orb color of the construct you want to call in. For example: When I dodge enemy attack by using Lee (Red), I will enter the matrix. And if I attack enemy by using 1 single blue orb and yellow orb, I can QTE two construct at once. So the next time I use Lee's combo, I got all the necessary buff from qte. 2. Switching not only needed for the Switch Effect and escaping the Bind/Stun/CC; but also for escaping dmg and do rotational damage. We all might have situation when our construct is out of step and seems like it'll taking dmg; as many players sometimes panicking and overdodging, so quick switch then dodging could be a way out . We also need to understand that weapon & memories' has cooldown on its effect, sometimes we feel that our construct suddenly losing or lack of dmg. It's probably because we runs out buff from qte, weapon, or memories, and enter the cooldown phase. So switching to other construct could help us refresh our overall damage and keeping our momentum. It's important to switch as I see some is reluctant doing it. --- Anyway, great content as always. Found some new things too from the video. Thank you so much! Hope I can improve much better from this. :)
QTE on Honkai is more like switching, I could say that it was a special switching triggered by some effects or synergy; like with Ignite etc. etc. QTE on PGR is more like calling your team to field and mostly triggered by combo or orb. So yeah pretty different. Either way, it's fun. ^^
Actually Honkai has one character that works like this where the QTE stays on the field, I think she’s called starlight astrologos or something, one of Theresa’s battle suits.
Idk you can heal all characters at once just by activating their QTE and you can dodge attacks just by switching, it's really useful against Roland when he hits you with his yellow pillars. Thank you PGR god, I learned something useful again❤️. Hmmm maybe do some In-depth guides with each characters in every class next time like beginners, mid and end game builds, teams, pros and cons in every game modes.
dunno how to dodge when many flashy atk animations are running in the screen while I atk to an enemy..normally, I try to dodge checking with red flash, sound, enemy atk animation..but I can't do this when my screen is full of flashy atk animation cuz I can't pay attention anymore to my checking points at that messy time...any advice for that ?
for me , with alot of mobs situation. I just need to get into Metrix once and make sure im not in the area/line of their atk. You can like move or dodge a bit just to get to a safe place. Also , almost all enemy atk can be cancelled if you stagger them. As long you can kill them quick , its only matter of time.
Just wait till one enemies attacks turns into red flash then dodge since you can easily dodge others cuz it will become slower. Also knows the enemy attack patterns so you will know when to dodge. Also since that slow-mo has cooldown, you also need to train your reaction speed and always stay calm and think what the best ways you can do like switching characters since PGR is all about skills. So my best tip is just practice though I hope PGR include all enemies at training area so we can practice how to dodge every enemies. Rn there's only one enemy I can practice with though I'm already lvl.52 so I hope they add something like that or I just didn't know that there's a way to change the enemy in practice area.
My advice is, first you need to stop panicking and over dodging, sometimes it's good to let your construct stop moving at the moment to assess the situation. So far, it works on me and I believe you will too. Second is, there's three way to notice the attack, Red Flasher always comes early so you can dodge a lil bit later. Sound is more quicker, sometime you need to dodge right away when you hear the sound. Last is Gesture, if you notice the gesture you might even respond the attack quicker than the flash and sound. I usually focus on one, usually the sound. Hope that helps. Don't give up! :)
I know this is 3 years ago, But i encountered a situation where i can't trigger Da Vinci 4 piece passive. I tried to put 4 piece on Lucia CW and Noctis but idk why i just can't seem to trigger another QTE (no flashing indicator). Is the memory broken atm? I'll try again to confirm if im just seeing things Finally know how to Da Vinci works lol i wasn't supposed to play the one who use it
If I have to switch characters, do I have to build all 3 of them with some damage output? For example, I often build healers with healing buff memories, tanks with memories that reduce defence and elemental resistance in enemies and attackers with damage and elemental memories. Thus, If I have to switch characters, should I also put some damage memories for supporters and tankers?
Question about Super Armor breaking on enemies; Can Nanami B break super armors? Do I need to actively use her or her QTE is enough to break super armors?
Hey guys what stage on the story I can stop? For example, I completed the stage 6 and now I'm farming memories 6, I need to complete the story until the chapter 8 or I keep farming?
so after switching in you can ping one orbs and trigger the special move of each character? (like switching to lotus then pinging red will make her wield dual blade?)
Question so if you use Da Vinci on a healer and use a heal QTE, the other character's automatic QTE right after won't get the heal cuz it enters after the initial QTE right? But if you reversed it, and had Da Vinci on the other character and used their QTE, then the healer uses theirs after is the previous character on the field long enough to benefit from the heal? Sorry if my wording is confusing lol
@@Rexlent Ahhhh I think I misunderstood the 4 set bonus, I thought once you push the QTE it will do the other one automatically after a short delay, but you actually have to press the button. It just preps the other QTE for you but the phrasing of the text says "trigger" which confused me.
@@Rexlent Thanks for the quick reply! Someone I know in discord was asking a question about it. If you don't mind answering another question; There was a discussion in a discord I'm in about S Lee vs B Liv to use as a phys buff. S Lee captain skill gives 15% physical buff while B Liv at SSS gives passive 10% physical buff, we want to know why there's a lot of recommendations for B Liv if S Lee gives a stronger passive physical buff. I was thinking it was due to the Liv's Blue orb physical buff.
Well in 5 star memories there's no unique ways to trigger QTE of all characters so just use the common sets for each characters like if you have healer then used 5 star memories that can increase healing and for tanks just use someone who can reduced physical and elemental defense, for main dps just depends it in who's your playing with if the characters consumes a lot of orbs then use Aife, if you can dodge well then Mozart, for physical then Erwin and etc. Edit: Mistyped it's Erwin who can increase physical attacks and not Mozart...
surprisingly the only new thing i learnt was how to set which color triggers what xD i am not flexing but all the rest things you said, I have been doing already and thought it was basic lol xD, especially that aife memory switch dodge is so pog, which i legit had to use so many times when i couldn't dodge that

Interesting. I was never sure whether AoE heals affected constructs during their QTE, so thanks for finally clarifying that.

Congrats for the video! Very well explained and the first one that I have found that explain the benefits of switching! bravo!

Tysm i needed to know how to properly switch between chararcters during battle
Amazing vids dude. After you have done all the game mechanic guides you should do character guides with biS memories and such. Ty for the vids.
This is very helpful, too many times where I stay on a character to spam attacks to get orbs when I should be swapping and triggering my QTE’s.
Awesome thanks for the guides, I really appreciate you taking your time with theses, as there extremely well made.
Thanks for this guide, i thought the qte mechanic was same as Hi3 but it's completely different.

Characters in QTE animation ARE NOT INVINCIBLE.
My Liv kept dying to the Spear guy in Aife memory rescue while mid-animation.
Only in very rare cases in the current version, but in the future they will all be invincible.
so that why when switching to live and press red orb she fire the laser cannon enhanced

Question about Super Armor breaking on enemies;
Can Nanami B break super armors?
Do I need to actively use her or her QTE is enough to break super armors?
everyone in the live chat rn
I used B Liv's QTE once in pain cage and she got hit and died, is that a bug?
wait if qte is invulnerable did they can active the memory that triggered by getting hit?
Does 2 set of Da Vinci stack like 4 memory of Da vinci on B Liv and 4 on B Nanami?
Hey guys what stage on the story I can stop? For example, I completed the stage 6 and now I'm farming memories 6, I need to complete the story until the chapter 8 or I keep farming?
Is switching still recommended even when the dps has much higher bp?
If the other characters are geared too, yes
Does Bastion counter also counts as a QTE?
With 3 yellow it will activate QTE of yellow slot. I usually use Kamui - Bastion + yellow support to offset the damage received upon using parry.
Lee on Red and Liv on blue is my basic team XD I main the A rank lee hehe
Lee is love!
please make a guide about the effect of 1 team with the same element, is there any advantage and where can we see it?

Yes

so for beginners which 5 star memories good for qte ? , since not a lot of beginners had 6 star memories like da vinci .
i would say Aife set, this is because you can abuse trigger 2 qte at the same time. If you keep playing , you will have a lot of 6* eventually.
