Lion Dance in China Town, 2011, Part 1

Taken on Feb 6th, 2011 when I went to see the Chinese New Year celebrations in Trafalgar Square, London.
Having attended the pleasantly entertaining stage show at Trafalgar Square I went off to see China Town. What seemed like the dull side of the festival suddenly turned into a crowd puller when the Lion Dance took to the streets. I was bewildered to find myself a few feet from the performers as they drew near the final leg of their performance having gone from one store door to another. I apologise for the unsteady hand. The drums and the performers enthusiasm left me chiding myself for missing all the pooram festivals while I was in India completing my degree. Towards the end, the swaying flag nearly hits the head of one of the performers handler-if you can call him that.
