@insaneafp08 he felt like he had to move on from being Conan's sidekick and tried to venture into television with several different TV shows. Its too bad because they were funny, just not amazing or able to really succeed as much as he had hoped. Nice to see him back with Conan though. It shouldn't be seen as a step down as they work so well together and I would say its better to have the steady job as a sidekick as opposed to going from failed sitcom to failed sitcom. Gotta love Andy Ritchter!!

He was looking to branch out, and he did: there was a show called "Andy Richter Controls the Universe," which I liked because I like Andy, but it got canceled. He did some movie parts, too. I love Andy, he's part of whatever Conan does, and I think he's finally embraced that. He went out and tried, and that's what's important. Been a Conan fan since that first show in September 1993. I was 14, and Conan and Andy were my comedy heroes in my formative years, and still are. Andy has a great Twitter feed, too.
Andy left to do a show on Fox called Andy Richter Controls the Universe which only lasted a season then another one on Fox called Quintuplets then he had one on NBC called Andy Barker P.I. One thing we can say for Andy is that he doesn't give up after one cancellation.
I'm amazed that guy was fine with Conan repeatedly pointing his finger half a centimeter away from these multimillion dollar paintings. This sort of thing seems to happen in tons of Conan sketches, he will do incredibly negligent and stupid things like dance around in bare feet with hockey players wearing their hockey skates, repeatedly demand a student driver do dangerous maneuvers and perform acts of road rage they arent comfortable with while simultaneously being as distracting and noisy and crazy, etc etc
