Nice one Coincidentally, the channel Great Scott recently uploaded a video of a "USB wire tester" that you plug a USB cable in (both ends though) and the device tells which wires are bad
I'll have to check it out. I guess depending on how it tests cables, the issue on this one was very easy to miss. The short was so sporadic, it took me a lot of trying to get it just right to figure out where it was.

I'm afraid that would require a level of surgical precision of which I do not possess the skills for.
The problem is usually dirty balls 😏
