Not only is Betty White a tv icon, but she is a national treasure. She demonstrates for everyone that age is a number only, and that we can be as productive as we want to be at any age, health permitting. What an inspiration to us all. Well deserved, Betty White.
Health permitting is a VERY important clause here. Few people get to be 93 years old, but even fewer get to have the mind health and lucidity that Betty has. Don't wanna be pessimistic but most of the times age is not only a number :P
Claudio Medina I understand you point. Keep in mind, though, that there a people much younger than 93 who are in poor health for one reason or another, and yet also more and more seniors who are very active and productive. We are living longer and so age is not the same as it was years ago. It's encouraging. I think a lot of it is in the medications that are available now. So, basically, don't look at age necessarily as a limiting factor to what we can do.

I just learned of Betty’s passing, and I feel a personal loss. She brought such joy to my life. My grandma and I used to watch The Golden Girls together, it was “our show”. Since her passing, I watch our show and feel closer to her. So yeah, she was more than just an actress to me. RIP Betty, with love.

She IS Television. Her working days have graced the television screen since before there were 20 inch screens. Televisions were as small as microwaves when she started. Now we have plasma televisions that are over 70 inches and she graces all of them with charm and spontaneity. God bless her solid career.
