My mom passed away due to suffering to Dementia the last 11 years. She passed on February 21 2019 at 7:00pm and this is her and my dad’s wedding song when they danced together. Makes me sad and I cry every time I hear this song 😔❤️ I miss you mom.

IT MIGHT BE YOU -- Stephen Bishop/Dave Grusin & The Bergmans In 1982 the Academy Award winning Dustin Hoffman movie TOOTSIE needed an Oscar-nominated theme song. It got one from previous Oscar-winners, Dave Grusin & The Bergmans. Hard to believe it's almost 40 years since this almost-forgotten song topped the “adult contemporary” charts in Canada and the U.S. IT MIGHT BE YOU was the song that introduced us to the voice of Steven Bishop - whose one other hit for which he wrote words & music, was ON AND ON (with those words FS fans love to hear sung: - “put on Sinatra and he starts to cry.”) After Andre Previn, pianist/composer Dave Grusin is my favorite "spontaneous arranger" -- beyond jazz, able to improvise in orchestral fashion solo piano. Dave composed the beautiful melody, and asked his good friends Marilyn & Alan (Nice 'N' Easy) Bergman to come up with another Oscar winning lyric. Nominated for the Best Song Academy Award that year (forget which lesser melody won that year). "Time, I've been passing time watching trains go by - all of my life, Lying on the sand, watching seabirds fly, wishing there would be Someone waiting home for me . . . something's telling me it might be YOU" Siriusly Sinatra satellite radio just played my favorite version by Jack Jones. Is it at RUclips? Nope. But the original, -- a version with 2.6 million views -- is there, (in all its 1980's shiny, reverberation glory). I was poised to weep tears of joy at the beauty of this song. I don't know why I'm almost to cry everytime I listen to this song since 15 years ago until nowaday. This song make me think back to my life in the past, and I wanna cry. I miss my life in childhood.
Me too! I remember watching Tootsie and loving this song even tho I didn't know any English. I had to rewind the VHS to replay it a million times! Needless to say, after finding out the lyrics I like it even more. Thankful for the memories,
Every single individual who understands the true meaning of music should have this classic song on their ultimate list of greatest love tunes. Stephen Bishop oh my god what a songwriter!
Bavinh Pham this is most certainly one of the greatest love songs ever, and while Stephen Bishop is widely considered one of the best song writers of all time by his peers, its quite ironic that this his greatest hit was actually not written by him. Sung brilliantly by him nevertheless
Just saw Tootsie. Great movie. The song just spoke to me. I think my search for a serious relationship is over. I met someone. She is so sweet and caring. She's older and doesn't play games. I could just eat her up she is so precious to me. Thanks for allowing me to share.
I've been waiting for that special someone all of my life...im 66 yrs old now and I've given up...there comes a time when you know he's not going to show up, oh well...it wasn't meant to be...Good luck Rodney...
I understand your feeling. This is the kind of song that becomes the background music for your search. For me it could also be the song by Boy Meets Girl titled "Waiting for a Star to Fall".
This song tugged at my heart while I was married. I used to get all choked up. Only it wasn't for my husband. I didn't know who it was for. Fast forward 23 years and perchance I meet the most wonderful man and guess what song is playing on the radio? Seems we could have met so many times before while vacationing at the beach, you see, he lived very close to where we used to stay. We've never been apart since that day we finally met. Nineteen years.... not a cross word between us. Now we're two old farts! But still so in love....
@@jamesferguson9150 Don't give up . There's always time for everything. If you believe we are eternal beings you will be back and claim whats rightfully yours. But I hope you find that right here in this lifetime. Positive energy your way.
I have loved the song from the first time I heard it way back when Tootsie first came out. It’s still tugs at my heart strings all these years later. I wonder what happened to Stephen Bishop. He had such a wonderful voice
i always cry every time i heard this song i remember my 1st boyfriend when i was in college theme song namen to but our relationship never last kz I'm so young that tym wala n Kong balita about him but minahal ko nman sya.
Born in 73’ and somewhat enjoyed this song back then because of the beats and melody. Its now 2019 and I cant stop listening to it❤️. I am currently a single mom, and now love everything about this awesome song. I have yet to even see the movie its from (Tootsie 82’) Go figure! 80s music was the best. Enjoy it over and over again😃
This is one of the greatest love songs, if not THE best, ever written and performed. When it first came out I was single and wanted to live this song out. Then I got married and the lyrics didn't bring tears. Then divorce and this song hurt. Now I'm married again and this time the song fits even better!!
So happy for you everyone deserves to be happy in their life hopefully i will be too one day still waiting for love and every time i listen to this song it makes me cry
This husband and wife team - Alan and Marilyn Bergman - are American legends. They've written so many great songs over the years. Cheers to this iconic husband and wife team !!
I still remember those days that we used to sing "It might be you". For unknown reason, that this song got related to us..every time that you'll drop me back to our UACI, Jeddah, SA accommodation. Dad wherever you are now, I'm sure you're happy and resting now. We cannot celebrate your Birthday together but then please enjoy the little celebration that we have prepared. Happy Birthday Dad..I love you...
I remember taking my girlfriend to see this movie and loving this song. Little did I know that I would lose her a little over a year later. To this day I miss her and think of her every time I hear this song. She was the one true love of my life.
This song got me into soft rock!!!! Did my first soft rock concert to this song on September 15, 1991 (I was 9 years old) this song came out when I was 4 years old in 1986
2019.... I'm a 15 year old girl and I haven't heard this song in sooo long.. Last time I heard it was prolly from my grandma.. And somehow it pops up in my head and now I can't get it out
Wow! A real send back in time! Just watched "Tootsie" two nights ago on Dish Network. When this song came on at the end, I got a lump in my throat, tears to fight back. Caught me off-guard. Then I realized....1982. The year that my best friend and I got married. This song was whirling around before, during, and after. No wonder it hit me so deeply. I had not heard it for at least 20 years! Love this. Another amazing 1980's ballad :)
Breathtakingly beautiful! Unlike so many songs, this one has depth - it's great to see lyrics that are not constantly repeated and that have such meaning! I'd forgotten how lovely this song was until I heard it on Radio 2 just this morning. :-)
What a delightful sharing ROMMEL 1020. You have brought together such inspiring photography to pair with such amazing lyrics in the favorite song by Stephen Bishop.

Those students and staff I worked with at Balgok school were, on the whole, so friendly and polite to me. This is my "Balgok" song! I will be missing that place and time for all of my life.......

Reminds me of someone (1991-1993) Fate wasn't kind to me... he loved someone else that time. It hurts a lot. Recently, I kept in touch with him through FB. We had a moment, thanks to modern technology.....but then again, it's never meant to be because I am already married. :( Letting go is the hardest thing to do...but it’s the best way of showing how much I love you. Thank You for being a part of my life JB...my AJ, my Baks. Whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.
I remember watching Tootsie as a kid with my grandparents, which are both deceased now, and listening to this beautiful song. God, life was good back then :-)
Time, I've been passing time Watching trains go by. All of my life, Lying on the sand watching seabirds fly. Wishing there would be Someone waiting home for me. Something's telling me it might be you It's telling me it might be you All of my life... Looking back as lovers go walking past All of my life, Wondering how they met and what makes it last. If I found the place, Would I recognize the face? Something's telling me it might be you. Yeah, it's telling me it might be you. So many quiet walks to take So many dreams to wake And we've so much love to make I think we're gonna need some time Maybe all we need is time And it's telling me it might be you All of my life I've been saving love songs and lullabies And there's so much more No one's ever heard before Something's telling me it might be you Yeah, it's telling me it must be you And I'm feeling it'll just be you All of my life It's you It's you I've been waiting for all of my life I've been waiting for all of my life I've been waiting for all of my life I've been waiting for all of my life

They don't make music like this NO MORE. ITS THE POETRY WITH HARMONY...THAT MAKES YOUR VERY SOUL DANCE AND YOUR MIND SOAR TO ALL THOSE MAGICAL MOMENTS..INSTEAD OF THE WORRIES OF TODAY OR WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS...GOD IS KNOCKING US DOWN TO SLOW DOWN!!! SIT DOWN TAKE A WALK DOWN THE BEST THINGS WE LEFT IN HISTORY.....AND BRING THEM FORWARD....IF WE ARE RUNNING AHEAD IN LIFE AND YOUR GIRL FALL DOWN...WE WOULD TURN AND GO BACK TO GET HER ...AND PLAY CATCH UP....SUCH IS MUSIC LIKE THIS...DONT LEAVE THE BEST BEHIND...

yomi williams you're honestly watching tootsie while looking up the song from tootsie? Haha
yomi, when you're watching a porn, do you look up the chick's name on Wikipedia while tossing off at the same time? Dude, why can't you do 1 thing at a time?
yomi williams: "Tootsie" what a great, funny movie!
I am Cici! It moves me to tears! Love, Bobby
This song makes me think of someone who I wish I can meet. He lives in another country. If he only knew how I feel about him.
There are songs that really hits you deep in your Soul this is one of them. You ask them question, why it took so long? Why not Then instead of NOW?
It was a really good time when mom played this song on the way to a beach years years ago, since I was a lil kid with no worries ^u^
Last Tuesday at a friend's art studio, I met him. This song was playing in my head. Haven't stopped smiling.
This was the first dance for my wife and me at our wedding. Been 4 years since I lost her :(
Sooooooo beautiful!!! Everytime I hear this song I want to cry...It touchs my soul so deeply. This is the kind of romantic love that unfortunately doesn't exist anymore 😔
One of my favorite song. It reminds me of many good memories....my past lovelife...
Who listening to this at 2019?😊

Me. All the time!!! LOVE THIS SONG!!!
"Sooooooo many quiet waaaaalks to taaaaake... so many dreams to wake, and we've so much love to make!" Love it

Not me. Oh wait, I am
Me. Wish I could go back as a very young child

Stephen hit #25 in Billboard, 5-7-83. Thanx for postin' it.
Time, I've been passing time
Watching trains go by.
All of my life,
Lying on the sand watching seabirds fly.
Wishing there would be
Someone waiting home for me.
Something's telling me it might be you
It's telling me it might be you
All of my life...
Looking back as lovers go walking past
All of my life,
Wondering how they met and what makes it last.
If I found the place,
Would I recognize the face?
Something's telling me it might be you.
Yeah, it's telling me it might be you.
So many quiet walks to take
So many dreams to wake
And we've so much love to make
I think we're gonna need some time
Maybe all we need is time
And it's telling me it might be you
All of my life
I've been saving love songs and lullabies
And there's so much more
No one's ever heard before
Something's telling me it might be you
Yeah, it's telling me it must be you
And I'm feeling it'll just be you
All of my life
It's you
It's you
I've been waiting for all of my life
I've been waiting for all of my life
I've been waiting for all of my life
I've been waiting for all of my life
A special song saved for my future bride, partner, and best friend. I will continue to work to be the best man I can be so that I'm ready when I finally meet you!
It's songs like this that makes it wonderful to be alive.
I love this song. Hello to all my old friends at Shakey's BF Homes Sucat, Philippines. I heard this song from them, they almost always sang this while doing their works at the parlor LOL. It's nice and fun to work with them. Hope all of you are doing fine these days and God Bless.
April 2020 quarantined thinking about my boyfriend " it might be you" ♥️
I NEVER KNEW THIS WAS STEPHEN BISHOP! ALWAYS LOVED THE SONG!!!

Nostalgia, and brings childhood memories for me! What about you?

They played this song at the first military ball I went to. I felt like royalty in my gown dancing with hubby in his dress blues. Good times. ☺
I really love this song and this song really makes me happy and I hope to find love one more time in my life
I love this song. Its reminds me of my fast lovelife....
SIT DOWN TAKE A WALK DOWN THE BEST THINGS WE LEFT IN HISTORY.....AND BRING THEM FORWARD....IF WE ARE RUNNING AHEAD IN LIFE AND YOUR GIRL FALL DOWN...WE WOULD TURN AND GO BACK TO GET HER ...AND PLAY CATCH UP....SUCH IS MUSIC LIKE THIS...DONT LEAVE THE BEST BEHIND...
its our memory love song. Very comfort listened this song again
Thank you too Rommel1020 for posting this awesome music video. This is truly one of my top 3 most favorite songs. It reminds me of the greatest young love I had and will forever be for JB.
