You taught me so much about hotbar swapping in this and making it better to have more moves out faster. Thank you for doing this guid. I'm new to playing on pc and I'm a controller user.
Thank you. This seriously helped me a lot. I didn't even know you could do that with your settings until I seen this video. Spent about 2 hours now sorting my hotbar and crossbar lol 😆 it was my drg and whm that needed sorted the most, it helped so much. Thank you loads. I'll definitely be looking at other videos. Your videos are so easy to understand and you don't rush through stuff.
I appreciate this video so much, it’s literally a game changer. Gameplay is so much smoother as someone who plays on console, with a controller and keyboard only for chatting/emotes.
Okay, I just came from your video on controller UI since I just started the conjurer job and this has been immensely helpful. I didn't even know that I could use the floating hotbars on the controller. I've only recently started messing with various setups, but will be spending a lot of time today building my HUD and UI setups for the different roles. I realized right away when switching from Dragoon that the same set up was not going to work for healing.
So long story short, I was WHM up until 5.0 then decide to play a lazy dps class like Dancer because I was sick of healing and wanted to try something a little more mindless. Now, all this time later I went to play my healer and suck. I had no idea you could even do any of this stuff with the ui and hotbars until I found this to catch up on how to play healer. This is going to be a game changer with every class, THANK YOU SO MUCH, this is the most amazed I have been with customization ever, it's a bit overwhelming at first but thanks to your guide it's way better. I copied your exact setup and love it even though I am not used to it yet.. thanks again man.
Another great guide. I haven't gotten my white mage up to 80 yet and this guide is going to help me with setting up my hotbar. I have never set up any macros before partly because of my internet connection and i never know how to set them up. I hope you will do a video based solely on different types of macros and how to set them up at some point.
Yeah, I've had that request before, I want to spend more time making sure I can give players the best possible amount of macros, and that sounds like a great video :)
@@GingerPrimeGaming i agree that would be a great video and a great help for people. I think that you should include macros for DoH/DoL as well as DoW/DoM. The crafting macros i think would take up most of the run time in the video.
This guide really made it easier for me to get into controller, thank you! Although still trying to get used to everything because of the layout but overall it’s not far off. It’s like learning how to write with your left hand xD
Lmao I'm usually a support player and this video put it in perspective at how daunting it is to learn everything and get everything setup on controller and console. All the hotbars and such are something I'm not used to as a console player. It's crazy.
The button layout is always just a recommendation, and I'm glad you got something useful out of the video, you might enjoy the updated Endwalker version as it comes with setup macros and more.
Great video my only 2 cents is i figured out how to put my limit break as my r3 button so no matter what job I play i just have to push r3 and off it goes
I definitely can't do that... I grip my sticks too tightly sometimes. I've had to disable r3/l3 abilities to not accidentally punch while firing etc.. so limit break would be a disaster lol
Awesome video thank you so much! I’m still pretty confused about being able to throw out some dps while keeping the tank targeted. Specifically putting dots on all the mobs in the pull while keeping tank my focus. I
For that you can focus in on the macro placeholder of which means target of my target. This allows you to keep locked on the tank and cast your damage spells on the tanks target
ok i just started recently playing im level 32 now and this is a good guide for people who dont have a single clue to what they are doing up until you get to macro. "so backstory i never played a mmo or this type of play" so setting up macro for targeting when im not used to combat yet macro look useful but i dont understand them is there a video guide going more deeper then just what the ending showed. other then that great guide.
Thanks! I was able to follow everything, but I think I missed how to switch to the crossbar to use and place spells in those boxes. Also, how do you place items in the hotbar 3?
Hey, I’m sorry for asking but how do you choose the cool downs you want to show on hot bar 3? I have it on my screen now I am just unable to choose what I want to be shown
@@GingerPrimeGaming No problem, that make us happy :) Note: I have a idea for macros, maybe you can do a video all about what macros is recommanded for each jobs in one video, it's just a idea, so maybe it can be long or you don't have the time to do that.
I play on ps4. The only part I'm having trouble with is your floating bar 3 that has 3 skills on it just to monitor them. I can't figure out how to get skills on that bar
My only problem I have as a healer with a controller... Is, how do I switch through party member like I can as a dps my enemies? On enemies it's R1/L1 But if I wanna switch through party member I always have to use the D-pad, and dat sux
I personally disagree with the majority consensus, I find healing in FFXIV to be considerably more difficult than any MMO I have ever played. No matter how many guides and videos I can't get it and I'm on the verge of just quitting as much as I love the community.
Sorry you're not enjoying how healing works in this game. I find that the DPS role is the hardest by far, and healing and tanking they've really cut it back so that it's more approachable. But that's just my experience, everyone is going to have their connection to the jobs in different ways for sure. Beyond healing, what other jobs do you play? :)
@@GingerPrimeGaming I am a main BLM and started WHM 3 days ago just hit my mid 50s and can't reliably heal anything in anything 40 to 50 I focus on healing and can't even find time to dps and keep hearing how easy healing is 😢 I feel very defeated and probably would already have given up were it not for the amazing community. In other MMOs I feel a rhythm in this I am almost always panicked and it feels a thousand times worse knowing I'm not even doing any damage the majority of the time knowing somehow I have time for both when I can't even keep the group alive is just devastating to me.
I'm glad you found something great with the game and the community, but yeah, what you describe sounds more stressful then it's worth. I'd say only keep healing if you want to work to try and overcome that feeling, but if it leads you to not enjoy playing, then pehraps black mage is the way to go for you :)
@@GingerPrimeGaming thanks man! Guess I was just badly undergeared, specifically my weapon, upgraded that and working my way through healing the level 50 ARR stuff already done well in a few hard mode lvl 50 dungeons. "Controller Guide" and proceeds to explain how to play White Mage instead of how to use a controller to play White Mage. I just want to know how to use the controller to use skills in the best way. what was the fluid aura, on hotbar 2 on left side? I don't see the image. Did they change it?
I have an updated guide with macros that will setup your hotbars for you now: ruclips.net/video/93qSvZc-Mlo/видео.html

Okay, I love this video, but I need to know! What is your macro for Raise?
/ac "raise"
/p Time to rise and finish this fight the world still has need of you
How to make hotbar 3 look like this though..... for me all the boxes show and they are small ....
You can increase the size of the hotbars by selecting it in the HUD and then clicking the right stick.
Are there any macros you can make for example if I press X it selects player one and casts cure?
Yes. :)
/ac "Cure"
/macroicon "Cure"
I believe.
Thank you
I love your content 💖
Where is the raise macro?
What staff is that?
I be,I’ve it’s the Bozeman front relic one, but I’m not sure
Can i have your honest opinion on if its easy with a controller to heal in those intense endgame raids?
its about muscle memory. you need to practise for months to be near the level youd be with mouse and kb
Maybe we need to see your macros for WHM, Like the ressurection spell we don't see it
If I missed and didn't show them sorry about that, I'll show that off next weekend where I post on SCH and AST :)
