There are certainly some upsides and downsides to using a manual lens. Upsides! If your using a tripod and focus on the subject which is sitting or not moving, it will STAY in focus, sometimes autofocus may slip and focus on the background instead of the subject, Upside 2, more control over the image, focus and light coming in. downside, if the subject moves, it can be out of focus. If i could give you some tips, I would say, Practice makes perfect, the more you use manual ,the more you will get use to it, if you dont like it, we have have things like LIDAR, to make any manual lens autofocus. Also these lenses just give an overall beautiful look.

Yes but it will be cropped because it's a full frame lens. So would act more like a 50mm
