The added value of community-driven hotels and hybrid-hospitality: from potential to practice

Historically, hotels and other hospitality providers have wielded a significant impact on their local communities. In recent years, the increasing popularity of community-driven and hybrid hospitality concepts suggests a paradigm shift in how hotels interact with their environment. Establishing stronger relationships with local stakeholders not only enhance the resilience of hotels but also augments their potential to contribute to the local quality of life.
In this session, we discuss these developments through a panel discussion featuring international practitioners and experts. Within the panel, we scrutinize the extent to which the hospitality industry is realizing its potential. Additionally, we address the risk of community engagement becoming mere rhetoric, with only lip service being paid. Moreover, we focus on how to achieve a more meaningful engagement and the hurdles hindering progress.
