This song is great and I wish I could sing as good as these guys.. something about hearing the drum at a funeral always makes me tear up.. it's real powerful
I want to thank you for posting this. My grandmother is Tohono O’odham and passed today. Unfortunately she passed in a hospital so we couldn’t have any of our traditional funeral rites done so we played this video for my grandmother while the hospital chaplain prayed and it was the best way we could honor her and her spirit with what we could do. Thank you a million times over.
It's hard to watch this video becuz I lost my cousin Beaver last year and hearing those drums I never felt this sad and cried like that since my mom passed.
I am not Native American my ancestry is from the jungles of Ecuador. In my attempt to find a way to give me daughter soul safe passage to whatever come after death I found this post. While o don’t understand the words I can say that I am sorry for loss and thank you for posting the video. While I cry for my loss and I can tell you that my tears are also for your loss. So agin thank you
Man I’m just reading this. I’m Powhatan of the Nansemond and Saponi Tribes of Tsenacommacah (Virginia and North Carolina areas in America) I’m born and raised here in northern New Jersey and NYC; going back to my grandfather who moved here to Manhattan in 1882 from tribal lands upstate New York. I pray for her spirit as well as yours !!!

There are many "Native American" songs posted through YouTu but none can compare to this one and a few others. I don't approve of our songs been transmitted with WASP synthesized background noise.
Its good but the way I was raised in our tribe southern Cheyenne your not supposed to sing Sundance songs at funerals to use it's new life songs and other words it's like tryna rase the dead ur supposed to sing traveling songs journey songs death songs anything but Sundance songs just my personal opinion beautiful though
