Elvis was the world's first superstar and he is still loved around the world. It was wonderful to see a young person being introduced to him and his music. Wonderful reaction i subbed., thank you
Thank you for this sincere and heartfelt reaction to this beautiful song and performance. Elvis meant every word and he always sang with his heart and soul when he believed in the song. I subbed because of your great reaction. More Elvis, please. You will fall in love like his millions of fans have.❤❤❤
The most charismatic singer entertainer and humanitarian ever. No one today can match his brilliance 💕 And No Auto tunes and if there were he wouldn't need it 😊
🌿🦋🌿🦋🌿🦋🌿🦋🌿🦋🌿🦋🌿 Elvis Presley's "IF I CAN DREAM" From his 68 Comeback Special, was Elvis's Heartfelt and Powerful Tribute to Dr Martin Luther King Jr, after his Assasination in Memphis Tennessee where Elvis Lived. It is Based on the message of MLK's "I Have A Dream" Speech, and was written for him with this in mind. It also honored the Memory of Robert F Kennedy, who was also Assasinated during the same time period. This was a Turbulent Time in America, 🇺🇸 with the Civil Rights Movement, Protests and Riots against Vietnam War and it seemed as if the Country was being torn apart and Elvis wanted to bring a Message of Hope and Unity to the Nation. "If I Can Dream" is at it's heart, a Civil Rights Song. 🌿🍒🌿🍒🌿🍒🌿🍒🌿🍒🌿🍒🌿 Elvis Presley "Bridge Over Troubled Water" 1970 Live Las Vegas (New Mix Great Sound) ruclips.net/video/mLbOBoa8vD8/видео.htmlsi=SsBVP-7mFKI-Tu4X Elvis Presley Without Love (There is Nothing) Elvis Back In Memphis Album 1969 ruclips.net/video/2cOhnhUTZwE/видео.htmlsi=5Dzl5ArzdAVRF7ix
Thx for mentioning Robert Kennedy -- it is quite rare that Kennedy's name is associated & mentioned w-this song; there's so much focus on MLK that people seem to forget how much was going on at that time & was really a song for the hopes of a world of peace & harmony & not just the assassination of one person.
No one like him. He lived what he sang, he was from a black ghetto in Mississippi, born so poor. He loved people and wanted to bring us together. Another great one is "In the Ghetto". and "Walk a Mile in My Shoes' from Vegas 1970. thank you be blessed.
He still gives me goosebumps after decades of being a fan! The amount of beautiful sogs is unbelievable high, he was a super talented entertainer and a great human being. I think ELVIS AND THE BLACK COMMUNITY would be a good ( about 15 minutes) insight to his beginnings, and what other entertainer thought about him. Thank you for this amazing reaction!💚☀️
I subscribed due to your genuine reaction to my hero Elvis Presley. It would be an understatement to tell you how this man changed my life. I saw him first as a five year-old child and he spiritually touched my soul. I wish I could explain what happened, but it was urethral. I knew from that moment that I had to learn more about him and so for 60 years that has been my mission. I saw him as a teenager many times in concert and those were the greatest moments of my life. I went to his home and stood at his grave for nothing more than to say thank you Elvis . If I can make a suggestion watch live in the ghetto I believe Las Vegas 1972 or 1973. I think most importantly that you should watch Elvis and the black community. If you truly knew this man, your whole perception will change. He broke racial barriers that no one else was able to do. I hope to see more Elvis that’s the only reason I subscribed thank you and God bless.
(new sub) glad you had this version because there are other versions that actually cover him up @ end w-those "ads" which is a shame. SOME BACKGROUND INFO for the SONG: As per the producer-director of the '68 special -- Steve Binder -- Elvis, Binder & others were together in the studio when they heard noise coming from the TV in the next room; it was the TV news broadcast that Robert Kennedy had just been assassinated. Binder, Elvis, et al sat up until about 4 a.m. talking about the turmoil in the world at that time w-Elvis expressing his thoughts & feelings, also the assassination of Pres. Kennedy & Vietnam. Binder asked songwriter Walter Earl Brown to compose a song based on those discussions. The song is not a literal dedication to any one person or persons but is notable for its similarities to Martin Luther King’s wish for a world of peace and harmony. The red tie was for the blood shed in Vietnam. See the video "Gates of Graceland: Secrets of the '68 Special" for the entire story of the '68 special, + all the other Steve Binder video interviews regarding the culmination of the song & the entire making of the special. A little story that Steve Binder related regarding the '68 special which took place in the dressing room right before Elvis was due to go on: Elvis was extremely nervous and he told Binder that he didn't know any of the songs, he forgot all the words, & wasn't going out there, & Binder said "I don't care if you walk out, just say hello & then walk off, but you ARE going out." And out he came. Yes, music "back then" had more meaning AND great instruments were used, such as the marvelous saxophone, the strings, horns, a piano (not just a keyboard). Unfortunately, all that seems to be gone which is a shame. Remember too that singers HAD to be good -- there was no auto-tune, no "messing around" to make a singer sound good -- they WERE good in their live performances.
Elvis...the greatest ever!❤
