I really cannot believe how dismissive the panel was of this man. Shame on the BBC for allowing this man to be put down like this.
The audience were as bad
The twit calling him a liar then pulling the race card out of the blue is a disgrace. 20 years ago a man's application for a government job in Canada immediately stopped when he clicked non minority. Affirmative action, DEI hires have risen to high positions now. A Dean and faculty at Harvard accused of plagiarism. Toronto police supervisor promotes black officers because he's racist.

What's worse is when you hear a woman in the audience sarcastically saying *"bye"*. What a total lack of empathy and compassion. It was disgusting. No doubt she would have slept well that night all cosey in her bed why he'd have to kip on a park-bench.

I'm a black man whose parents were born here. I'm a Nigerian born British, but I must admit that I empathise with this man. What he is saying is actually factual. The British government seem to care more about its global image than the welfare of its own indigenous citizens. It's a sad situation, really! A country that is so organized with an unrivalled structure yet tends to concern itself more with pleasing and catering for foreigners than its own indigenes. I look at London and I too wonder; is this the England?

I applied to go on QT once but the questionnaire I had to fill in was nothing short of a grilling of my private traits and mostly my political views.I ripped it up in disgust.Audiences are carefully vetted and the panel are told the questions beforehand. They ,the panel, view it before transmission so they can excuse anything they do not like.A totally raving,woke audience is the result.

Immigrants who arrived in this country since 2000 contribute 20 billion pounds more than they take. 63% of immigrants are educated with a university degree, compared to around 20% of uk natives. They contribute 64% more in taxes than they take in benefits, and immigrants are 43% less likely than people born in the uk. Now that I have disproved any theory of immigrants being economically damaging, the only other argument against immigration is one referring to sovereignty (a nice way of saying xenophobia or racism) in which case there is no point arguing as you must clearly be ignorant or prejudiced. Vote leave is a shambles, very few or none of their claims are true (that's not to say that remain are any better) and they prey on the ignorant to vote for them. (Disclaimer, I was born here, I am white and I live in a normal family, I would have no reason to be bias) sorry for the long reply

I can believe that his account is factual. The Somalian population near me receive £50,000 to open businesses in the area. They are also given new cars and help with rent and child support. They are literally given money. The same advantage is not given to the indigenous white British people.
As a single parent I had to find £300 to fund my taxi badge application and was told if I was an immigrant it would of been free. How is that right?

You do realise in the UK the taxi industry is regulated by each city's own sets of rules! In Merseyside (Liverpool) where I'm from, there are 4 different Boroughs and their rules and regulations on getting your badge are wildly contrasting and in 2009 I had to find a way to raise the funds to get my badge, whilst several immigrants on my course got the whole thing free! I became friends with a couple of them, lovely people and in no way was I hating on them because they got their training and badges for free, but was angry and bemused by the governments treatment of UK nationals in need, compared to immigrants in need.

If you think that anyone that comes to the UK has more rights to a UK resident you are an utter idiot. I have a permanent right to reside in the UK, my mum is a British Citizen. I lost my job once and went to the job centre there were many many many many ways of making it extremely difficult for anyone who isn't a British Citizen to receive those benefits. The maximum amount of EU citizen can recieve benefits are 3 months. Bare in mind, the people working in these centres are extremely uneducated on EU law and I had to argue with them many times because I WAS A PERMANENT RESIDENT having lived/worked and graduated in Britain (15 years).
The laws are discriminatory if anything. This myth that immigrants get benefits or jobs easier than a native is an absolute fucking lie considering most employers are ENGLISH/British. Nobody gives a fuck if you're ENGLISH if youre shit at your job. VALUE is what an employer looks for. That makes a business work properly. Secondly, there are many government programs to help immigrants succeed and prosper, yet a minority of programs for native Britons. This is the issue. Many immigrants are also given social housing despite never providing anything to deserve it or warrant it other than being an immigrant, generally with a large family.

It is well known that immigrants like nothing better than to steal toilet paper at every opportunity they get, they send the rolls home where success is judged by the amount of toilet rolls you have.
It is near on impossible to become an astronaut as immigrants are sucking this country dry leaving next to nothing for the British space program.
Today I tripped over an uneven pavement slab, this is most likely caused by the wear and tear of immigrants walking to the job centre to claim yet more benefits, they do this on their way to work at the space program centre which is currently suffering from a major toilet roll shortage.

Hope that guys in a better place. He came with a real issue - one that is unfortunately growing in relevance - and was shot down, mislabeled and borderline ridiculed. You can really tell that the middle-upper classes have no empathy for those in worse situations than themselves, because to change these issues they will need to shoulder some of the burden. @M S I think the issue really is why is the government giving jobs to foreigners when there's people at here who were born here that need work. It is not racist, in my opinion, to say that the government should look after it's own first. Now, obviously we now have brexit, so we will see whether my argument holds up. It may well be that white working class are unemployed simply because they want to be, or because they are too lazy. If that is the case, then I am more than prepared to hold my hands up and admit I'm wrong. But until then, I cannot believe that people are happy to sit around doing nothing their whole lives. Immigration is definitely getting a raw deal of late and people seem to think the problems will go away if we had no immigration, it's being used as a scapegoat for other political means, chances are if we didn't have immigration, many jobs would leave the country and how many would be willing to do some of those jobs because we already know it's usually jobs not many of us want to do or it's low paid work, that's the problem, it's a double edge sword.

Many of our politicians could have chosen career paths that would have granted them astronomical salaries, but they didn't, they chose politics because the majority of them have a passion for the country and want to help it in the way they believe to be beneficial (even if they are mistake in their methodology). Yes there have been anomalous politicians who took advantage of expenses etc. but many MPs receive a wage that is so disproportionally small to their environment that they can barely afford to live in their London constituencies.

White collar/middle class jobs aren't threatened, their suburbs remain pretty consistent and actually...Communities, and even if the demographic has shifted they're not turning into exclusionary enclaves, populated with lower educated immigrants, thus immigrants with more propensity to hold extremist or 'incompatible' beliefs, and immigrants infinitely more reluctant to integrate with locals. This IS reality for a lot of people.
Claiming they're ''scared of that international restaurant in town'', or an immigrant serving them in Pret, is the least of their concerns. If that's the only ''gotcha'' moments you have it certainly exposes what sort of immigration you've been exposed to.

I know it's just common decency you can argue, but there's plenty immigrants who as I described slot into British society perfectly, because they embrace British values, quirks, and if they ever held any views 'incompatible' with ours, they quickly change tack. Others do not, and this is the experience the working class have when it comes to immigration, and I don't think the sole factor in why there's such a contrast is they happened to feel more welcome than others. It comes from them.
The problem is a lot of communities aren't made up of ANY 'native' British to begin with. There's often no desire on the part of the immigrants in the areas to integrate, and you can't force them. The 'enclaves' are very real, to the point if you're just popping to do some chores/pharmacy/local shop you can go all day...in the UK...without even seeing a native Brit, or even speaking English, and that's how they like it.
I don't think I've got a racist bone in my body and even I found the extent of the enclaves insane. The local area to the Hospital I work at has a late night pharmacy I've been to a few times, and it's like entering a different country entirely, genuinely. The whole demographic changes, and shops, pharmacies, solicitors, every private business - not British. It's an entirely self sufficient enclave slapped n the middle of a city. So what can you do? Force them out and spread them around a bit?

I realize that you posted this 6 years ago but I'm confused as to why you would blame this on immigrants. They are also working class and depend on their labour to live just like all people. It makes no sense to blame the immigrants when its the corporations and the system which allows for indigenous labour to be undercut. By blaming immigrant workers, you are shooting yourself in the foot and falling into the trap of divide and conquer. Go for those at the top, not those at the bottom.

There is an enormous over supply in the unskilled labour market which has kept working class wages down, Ive been waiting on a council house now for 6 years there is that much demand and immigrants with families who come in go above me on the list so ive basically no chance of getting a council house, Our A and E is regularly packed and you have to wait 4-5 hours, NHS dentist you have no chance and private dentist takes weeks to get an appointment and doctors surgery isnt as bad but it still takes days, good school places are very hard to get and our primary has had to extend 3 times already, unskilled jobs for the teenagers to get a start in life are very hard to get and its not a coincidence youth unemployment has doubled since we had open borders and we simply cannot continue letting anyone from Europe come and settle here, You cant blame immigrants for wanting to come here and better themselves and most i know are nice, genuine hard working people, i also know some who have came here and worked the benefits system and you should not be allowed to get housing or benefits until youve worked and paid in here for at least 5 years for me, although i dont believe its a high percentage regarding benefits but the numbers coming in are unsustainable and it has to have some form of control. It was never a major issue before for me.

And I have to agree with you.... you went to traditional places in London (like Carnaby streeet) and there was no trace of England.... there was international franchises, shops with indians with chinese products on it , etc etc...... When I lived In London 25 years ago you had the experience of living in England, buy real english stuff, have real english friends.... now London center is no more than a standar global city and you can find there the same things than you can find in Toronto (or online)..... no english character at all.....

Jobs aren't 'stolen', whoever gets a job gets a job and if anything, immigrants are discriminated against in this country regarding employment. Being an indigenous person doesn't give you a right to a job, it's like getting into university, you get in if you got a good personal statement and the required grades, if you miss it and an immigrant gets them, you can't expect to be granted free entry because you're indigenous. Jobs are about having skills for them, not being from a certain colour.

When I was in university David Aaronovitch was a communist. Did you notice he used the phrase "Jewish East End" - what made the East End of London Jewish if not unwelcome immigration? The people of this country have never been asked whether they want immigrants and they have never been invited to offer their opinion rather party leaders decide what they should think. Tories make out that if there is an economic case for immigration then their hands are tied - it has to occur, as if the people have to change for the good of the economy. Labour side with the immigrants ahead of the people they are meant to be representing - the working class of Britain.
Immigration is not a matter of what may or may not be good for the economy, it is our country and we should be able to decide whether we want anybody else to come here and what they need to do to fit in and live here on our terms.

What most of you people here don´t realize is the simple fact that a British Citizen should have the right by LAW to get the Job BEFORE any foreign immigrant. As long as a local person want the Job and has the qualification to do it, he has ABSOLUTE priority. Only in case nobody applies or is qualified for a Job, then a foreigner or Immigrant can be the next choice. portsanity I get your point and we had the same problem here in Germany. Also with people who don´t want to work. Law was changed and now the unemployment office is offering you Jobs within your qualification, regardless of your income "wish". If you reject 3 of their Kob offers, they simply stop paying. It´s always better to accept a Job and while employed, look for a better one.
What we talk about here is the situation where local people WANT to work, but get kicked off because of a cheaper competition from Eastern Europe. That must be stopped under all circumstances all over Europe.
I was in that situation by myself. I used to live in Spain for 15 years. I was driving Lorries and Spain was in big demand of drivers that time. I had a 160m2 4 bedroom Apartment on the Beach and all was fine...until the Romanians and Bulgarians invaded Spain. They showed up in groups in our office, asking how much the drivers earn. My Boss that time said he doesn´t need any drivers. The Romanian spokesman said - Really? No matter how much you pay your drivers, we drive for half of their Salary.
2 Month later all drivers were replaced by Romanians. I was desperately looking for a new Job but all Jobs were occupied by Romanians and /or Bulgarians. Within 17 Month, I couldn´t find a Job and after my unemployment money ran out, I couldn´t pay the mortgage anymore any had to go back to Germany while that Romanian Scum happily is still sitting in Spain. That´s also a reason why in some Spanish Regions the unemployment is incredible high. The Bank took my Apartment that was almost paid off and I lost over 200.000€ thanks to such a liberal Immigration Law for Eastern Europe. I had to leave, not them! But I must admit that my unemployment officer tried to help me and offered me a Job. I was there together with a Spanish colleague who had 3 little kids and I told the officer exactly the same. HE is a Spanish Citizen. HE has priority here and I gave him the Job.
The East extension of the EU was the biggest mistake they could have done. Italy and Greece face the same problems. The only solution for quite wealthy countries like Great Britain, Germany etc is to get out of the EU as soon as possible and follow National Law and not that Crap they produce in Brussels. IN GB, ENGLISH people first and in Germany GERMAN people first. You and me might consider that as the most normal thing. But with that opinion and my Nationality, Ißm very often called a Nazi for that. Sad enough.
