For me, ghost is one of those songs that when you first listen to it you'll be like: "It sounds decent" but then for some unknown reason you find yourself listening to this exact song on repeat for 3 hours straight. Edit 2: It's been a little bit over a year and this song still never fails to give me the chills. One word, passion. To me, Ghost perfectly encapsulates what makes Suisei so special, and other than being a phenomenal song, it also serves as one of the most important Vtuber songs ever made. With this song, it feels like Suisei tried to convey a "hatred to the world", a frustration from a world that refuses to acknowledge you and your efforts, seeing you like a Ghost, a song representing all those that are dancing in the dark, giving out a performance that no one is able to see, or care. As a once beginner in the Vtuber world, Suisei was seen as a "Jack of all trades, master of none" type of person, and as a result struggled to gain a following, she was seen as less desirable compared to other to-be idols, and with all this frustration, even moving forward day by day proved to be a challenge. For someone like her to write such a song, it gives all the lyrics that much more depth and meaning, I like to believe that this was her way of responding to said world, to proclaim to it that no matter the struggles, she will continue To keep going, even if her legs are giving in, and do everything in her power to make the world see and hear her until she has nothing else to share. In no other moment did this song prove it's importance more in than when Suisei sang it after Coco's graduation, Coco was someone that Suisei respected greatly, she was someone that shook the Vtuber world on multiple occasions and achieved things that almost no other content creator in the entire history of this platform has achieved, with that in mind, Coco was a person that to Suisei, has managed to break the curse of being a ghost,during her last stream, half a million people came to see her, came to listen to her and stayed with her till the very end. Even if for just a single moment, Coco managed to escape the status of a ghost, she was no longer dancing in the dark, the world acknowledged her and saw her. My favorite moment in the song has to go to 3:47, the otherwise intensive song goes completely silent, no music or sound, with only suisei's voice to be heard, it is only for a very brief moment, but the weight it holds in my opinion is immeasurable: "Will you ever find me? Will you ever listen to my voice?" The song then reaches it's climax, the music returns, more intensive than ever, and Suisei expressing to the world her true and honest feelings: "I will still dance in the dark. Even if my existence fades away, Even if I am to wither away ... Even then ... Even then, I will be singing. Even with no one to listen, I will keep on singing. Even as the ghost I am. " This moment in particular, hit the hardest after coco's graduation, the silence felt like a representation of the world, cold and uncaring. So with teary eyes and a shaky voice, Suisei shouts to the world that she will do just as Coco did, she will reach the heights that Coco had reached and make sure that the world will know who she is as well. Ghost will stay as a permanent reminder that Suisei once started from nothing, and now Ghost has reached 10 Million views and Suisei is one of the top Vtubers as of writing this comment. So much has happened and so much will happen in the future, regardless of what's to come, I will forever be grateful for following her Journey and seeing these achievements happen in real time. So once again, thank you Suisei for the thousands of hours of entertainment and as always, Sui-chan ha kyoumo kawaii!

Her songs are like a biography of her career. They tell a story or a chapter of her life as an idol, with each one showing how far she's come and how much room she still has to grow.
She has another original song called 'Pieces' which didn't get more attention since it debuted on billibilli. However, it's an amazing song, with a far more sombre tone compared to her other originals. I'd like to think it signified a small break in her journey, to reminisce on her past and the journey she took to get to the present, though that's just my own personal interpretation.

As a person who only recently got into the Hololive rabbit hole, I never really knew Hoshimachi Suisei for the person they are here, that was until my best friend sent me this over discord He said this song brought him to tears, and I wondered why. He told of the stories of what Hoshimachi Suisei had endured to get where she was, and I still didn't quite get it. Who are they really? What happened, and how significant is she really, and lo and behold here i am writing about it This song, singlehandedly blew me away. The Japanese lyrics was absolutely amazing, the English translation then made me realize how deep this story really went into, the animation and visuals were a nice touch that in itself gave me the feels, combined with Hoshimachi Suisei's incredible singing talent and instrumental. Everything about this song is seriously incredible, yet there is something odd that i feel about it. The true meaning of it, perhaps? I may not know even a fraction of Hoshimachi Suisei, but just from this one song and tales about her made me realize how, just amazing she is. Bold, determined, and with passion unrivaled even by the constellations. And thats inspiring, and it inspires me. I know you probably won't understand what I'm rambling about Hoshimachi Suisei, since I'm probably not making sense here, but you really are an idol, that gives a new breath of life to your fans. This song, with its meaning and style almost brought me to tears. Then you came in and reminded me of her history. What is an idol but a revered person, that is greatly admired and loved. For all the seiso and ak-47 jokes, this is still an idol company and these are still idols.

One time a friend of mine asked "What's the point of Vtubers?" I couldn't answer at the time as I was relatively new. After watching this I realized that some people just don't want their face to be out in the limelight and I respect that. This allowed us to have such a talent like suisei in our daily lives. Had someone else go a step further and say it takes even more skill and focus on personality than a normal youtuber, esp, in their words, for a lot of female youtubers/streamers as there was no question or doubt as to how much they perhaps depended on their looks yknow? (not that I necessarily support that whole argument, not my words there, but i see the logic) AND i'd go a step even further and say that not only is it entirely their wonderful personalities, but the added bonus they get to become, in a sense, more than human, as they get to create all this lore and cool styling and artwork for their character etc. I think it's truly wonderful, it's all the best things about being an entertainer, streamer, anime, music, and art. So in conclusion, I don't think it's always or even at all necessarily about hiding. Some of them haven't really tried to hide their ahem other content, I think it's about transcending into something more. Exploring the possibilities. Positive, not negative. Courage, not fear. (not that there's anything wrong with those who truly do wish to keep their private lives, private and use vtuber methods to do so either, I just don't think that's nearly the whole picture)

Can we admire how nicely the animation suits the song? It's not just random colorful background with some patterns moving form one side to another and character jumping to the melody but the whole thing feels as if the person who did it "felt the song" and was inspired by it.
I cant even count how many times I've played Suisei's original songs and covers. Her original songs just explodes with her passion and emotions poured in each one. This original song "Ghost" just shows how much of a talent Suisei is. I'm glad to be born in an era to witness such masterpiece.

@@MohHD16 Suisei put extra effort in writing the lyrics in a way that the sentences rhymed with each other by the last syllable, which conventionally uncommon in Japanese song writing (despite all these bangers we got, they actually don't rhymed, and that's different from melody as a whole) Listen back to the song and pay attention to the rhymes in the lyrics.

In addition to what people siad above and making an explanation directly from what Suisei said, she wrote this song thinking about people in our world that dislike or feel disgusted about VTubers, even though many times they never even watched a VTuber at all. She said that in the 3 years that she have been in the VTube world, she felt these negative things, and the song represents her "hate" (exaggeration) about this kind of world. She tried to convey the feelings that in this same world she is doing their best, accomplishing many dreams. So don't make fun of (look down on) VTubers. The title Ghost came from this state in which VTubers exist. Like the VTubers exist, but they don't really exist in the real world, so they are kinda in this haze state between existing and not existing, like a ghost. Just a more word by word explanation from Suisei interview with Kiara, hope it was helpful and I recommend watching all of Kiara's Holotalks. Aki and Suisei ones were great! そんな弱い自分を受け入れた上で尚、自ら掲げた高い目標を成し遂げるために、日々自分を奮い立たせて、今出来ることを精一杯やろう、声が枯れ果てるまで、声が届くまで歌い続けてやるんだ、という前向きな強い覚悟のようなものを感じます
正直ファン目線でもVtuberをサブカルからカルチャーにしたい、GHOSTを実体化させたいなんて現状では限りなく無謀に近い挑戦だと思う

Her songs are like a biography of her career. They tell a story or a chapter of her life as an idol, with each one showing how far she's come and how much room she still has to grow.
Tenkyuu is her best song in my opinion. I really want to listen to it on Spotify someday.
She has another original song called 'Pieces' which didn't get more attention since it debuted on billibilli. However, it's an amazing song, with a far more sombre tone compared to her other originals.
I'd like to think it signified a small break in her journey, to reminisce on her past and the journey she took to get to the present, though that's just my own personal interpretation.

As a person who only recently got into the Hololive rabbit hole, I never really knew Hoshimachi Suisei for the person they are here, that was until my best friend sent me this over discord
He said this song brought him to tears, and I wondered why. He told of the stories of what Hoshimachi Suisei had endured to get where she was, and I still didn't quite get it. Who are they really? What happened, and how significant is she really, and lo and behold here i am writing about it
This song, singlehandedly blew me away. The Japanese lyrics was absolutely amazing, the English translation then made me realize how deep this story really went into, the animation and visuals were a nice touch that in itself gave me the feels, combined with Hoshimachi Suisei's incredible singing talent and instrumental. Everything about this song is seriously incredible, yet there is something odd that i feel about it. The true meaning of it, perhaps?
I may not know even a fraction of Hoshimachi Suisei, but just from this one song and tales about her made me realize how, just amazing she is. Bold, determined, and with passion unrivaled even by the constellations. And thats inspiring, and it inspires me. I know you probably won't understand what I'm rambling about Hoshimachi Suisei, since I'm probably not making sense here, but you really are an idol, that gives a new breath of life to your fans. One time a friend of mine asked "What's the point of Vtubers?" I couldn't answer at the time as I was relatively new. After watching this I realized that some people just don't want their face to be out in the limelight and I respect that. This allowed us to have such a talent like suisei in our daily lives. Listening to her music just gives me energy, I know you probably won't understand this but, Thank you Suisei.
Had someone else go a step further and say it takes even more skill and focus on personality than a normal youtuber, esp, in their words, for a lot of female youtubers/streamers as there was no question or doubt as to how much they perhaps depended on their looks yknow? (not that I necessarily support that whole argument, not my words there, but i see the logic)
AND i'd go a step even further and say that not only is it entirely their wonderful personalities, but the added bonus they get to become, in a sense, more than human, as they get to create all this lore and cool styling and artwork for their character etc.
I think it's truly wonderful, it's all the best things about being an entertainer, streamer, anime, music, and art. So in conclusion, I don't think it's always or even at all necessarily about hiding. Some of them haven't really tried to hide their ahem other content, I think it's about transcending into something more. Exploring the possibilities. Positive, not negative. Courage, not fear.
(not that there's anything wrong with those who truly do wish to keep their private lives, private and use vtuber methods to do so either, I just don't think that's nearly the whole picture)

Can we admire how nicely the animation suits the song? It's not just random colorful background with some patterns moving form one side to another and character jumping to the melody but the whole thing feels as if the person who did it "felt the song" and was inspired by it.

I cant even count how many times I've played Suisei's original songs and covers. Her original songs just explodes with her passion and emotions poured in each one.
This original song "Ghost" just shows how much of a talent Suisei is. I'm glad to be born in an era to witness such masterpiece.
Passion does that
Not saying that other songs with worse mvs have no passion dont get me wrong. Its just that if you are passionate about something and you use music and visuals to express that one passion the two will mess so well that it can feel like they are only complete when together
Shelter is a great example. If you watch that youll be in tears, not only because it was simply 'sad' but because the emotions and passion that gets injected into you is so overwhelming that it can bring you to tears.

星街すいせいは『そういうVチューバーがいるんだ』程度の認識だったけど、おすすめに出てきたこの歌聴いて衝撃受けました。
社会人になって音楽聴かなくなって何十年と経つけど、学生時代に推しのバンドに出会えた時のような高揚感をまた味わせて頂きました。

Just finished the 4th live. Sui-chan was right. It was going to be an unforgettable experience for all of us. She blew all of my expectations away, let alone all the things that we could possibly expect from her live.

@@MohHD16 Suisei put extra effort in writing the lyrics in a way that the sentences rhymed with each other by the last syllable, which conventionally uncommon in Japanese song writing (despite all these bangers we got, they actually don't rhymed, and that's different from melody as a whole) Listen back to the song and pay attention to the rhymes in the lyrics.
@@monoremu3200 And the amount of emotions she put to the song. it’s past 3 years since she became idol (vtuber), and so she perfectly knows how some people view vtubers strange, weird etc. By the tittle of the song “ghost” she expresses her filings about how vtubers are like ghost in the society, with there fantasy figure. Honestly in Kiara’s stream this gave me a lot more interest in the song and later more enjoyment

@@MohHD16 Came here after the Kiara interview in Holotalk. In addition to what people siad above and making an explanation directly from what Suisei said, she wrote this song thinking about people in our world that dislike or feel disgusted about VTubers, even though many times they never even watched a VTuber at all. She said that in the 3 years that she have been in the VTube world, she felt these negative things, and the song represents her "hate" (exaggeration) about this kind of world. She tried to convey the feelings that in this same world she is doing their best, accomplishing many dreams. So don't make fun of (look down on) VTubers.
The title Ghost came from this state in which VTubers exist. Like the VTubers exist, but they don't really exist in the real world, so they are kinda in this haze state between existing and not existing, like a ghost.
Just a more word by word explanation from Suisei interview with Kiara, hope it was helpful and I recommend watching all of Kiara's Holotalks. Aki and Suisei ones were great!
