I’ve almost died from this when I was 4… I was at the pool at Disney world and I went in without any life vests. Biggest regret… I went in and I could not touch the ground. I was going up and down it felt like. I can confirm it is silent. It’s like there is so much water in your lungs you cannot yell. All that comes out is Blwaoblublub. Kinda sounds weird but true. That’s all I remember. But my parents were devastated. And then about a gallon of water came out. And yes I said “gallon”. I was fine though. A few days ago I met the lifeguard and he is a nice guy. All I remember now is the feeling of peace. Which may sound weird. But it gave me a feeling of not being afraid of death anymore. So it was good that it happened.

My aunt carried me back to shore and my brother was saved by some dude. One time I went to a school trip and it was to the pool, I went in and 30 minutes later, my friend Barry came up to me but it looked like he was having trouble, I asked if he was doing fine until he literally jumped on top of me and his legs tied my arms. I yelled at him for him to get off me but he said he couldn't swim. Istg I started drowning while his head was out of the water. I thought I was going to drown until my main man Kyle threw barry off of me and i got saved. That's how I almost drowned

While I jumped on, I some reason started to panic and sink. I started to flail around till my sister (14-13 at the time) noticed and went under water holding me up. I still was flailing and started to cry. My aunt finally noticed the commotion and in her dress. Ran through the shallow end and swam to me. Picking me up and bringing me back. My sister risked her own life for me and I'm forever grateful. She held me up for about 20-30 seconds. She was under water while she held me too. So I can't thank he enough. Love you sister❤❤❤

My mum nearly drowned, in a whirlpool while visiting USA, she said that after a while, it was kind of peaceful, she accepted she was gonna die, and just thought about her fiance, my dad, and prayed(she is religious). I actually almost drowned one time when diving down a really deep (7 meters) swimming pool, and I went down there to retrieve a little trinket that the coach dropped. Back then I was in 5th grade, but I can remember and feel it like yeaterday. When I was diving down I felt the world go slower, but when trying to go back up, the light slowly faded and I felt slower and slower. My heart was pumping super hard to the point where i can feel it, and all of the organs that aren’t the heart, lungs, eyes, arms, and brain were either malfunctioning or straight up deactivated. I also felt like gravity was pulling down harder the further up i went, and I felt pressure building up in my chest. But thankfully and fortunately, I made it out unscathed.

I floated back to “shore” like a beached whale and scurried off to the villa where my parents said I was OVERREACTING AFTER I EXPLAINED THE WHOLE ORDEAL TO THEM 😭 all my struggles for naught. I eventually went back in tho and had a great time. I still love wave pools too. I actually had to save my cousin from that same fate a year later Edit: I probably didn’t “almost drown” but it sure felt like it at the time

The pool ones were pretty scary and as Danno said, you can't scream for help so I was desperately bopping up and down while calling my brother, and he thought I was showing him a joke so he ignored me for a while before saving me. The ocean one was a 90% death, because the ocean was below 10°C (I believe), the current was strong, it was an evening that time, the waves came in as a group which flipped me over several times, I was also confused where I was looking (very important because I might have been swimming farther away), and the worst part is that I was around 200 meters away from the shore. I was certain that I'd die had I not mastered the art of floating on water, though I was only floating and not swimming because I was simply too exhausted and I also had a piercing headache from the cold water.
If you drown: 1. Don’t panic, try and get as many deep breaths as you can. 2. You need to spread your legs out and float to calm down 3. If you fell in or if it’s cold you will go into shock, so lean back, bring up your knees and hug them. Also after you have done this slightly lift your head out of the water because the heat escapes out of your head the fastest. 4. If there are other people get into this position in a circle. I remember in my swimming class I was drowned by my friend and everything he said was true there was a lot of burning in my chest but I somehow survived and I was probably 2 seconds away from death. I also could not hear anything ( idk how ) but my teacher said that the life guard was blowing his whistle and very much i was trying to breathe. Moral of the story: don't trust anyone.
So when I was on vacation like 3 months ago, me and my family were on a cruise and on the private island they have there is a water slide, so me and my dad went out, and on our way out there was a guy that went under we thought nothing of it but the my dad saw the look in his eyes… and sprung into action grabbing the guy while trying not to get pulled under, thankfully the guy was ok shoutout to my dad doctor
this actually happened to me when i was 7 years old. the reason why i started drowning is because i tried just having the water on the bottom of my neck for no reason. and then i got pulled in by the waves and started to drown. thankfully my parents noticed it, so my uncle jumped in and saved me and blah blah blah, dont be stupid like me-

I almost drowned once, got stuck under a pool floatie i was chilling on, and nobody was around, so i physically had to save myself. So... Yeah i still dont know how to swim

I would argue against that because the human body can float so just lay on your back and you should be fine second things being burnt by a slow fire is much worse

I remember in my swimming class I was drowned by my friend and everything he said was true there was a lot of burning in my chest but I somehow survived and I was probably 2 seconds away from death. I also could not hear anything ( idk how ) but my teacher said that the life guard was blowing his whistle and very much i was trying to breathe. Moral of the story: don't trust anyone.

So when I was on vacation like 3 months ago, me and my family were on a cruise and on the private island they have there is a water slide, so me and my dad went out, and on our way out there was a guy that went under we thought nothing of it but the my dad saw the look in his eyes… and sprung into action grabbing the guy while trying not to get pulled under, thankfully the guy was ok shoutout to my dad doctor
I remember almost drowning when I was very young and he is true I barely made any noise other than the water splashing but luckily my dad got me :)
this actually happened to me when i was 7 years old. the reason why i started drowning is because i tried just having the water on the bottom of my neck for no reason. and then i got pulled in by the waves and started to drown. thankfully my parents noticed it, so my uncle jumped in and saved me and blah blah blah, dont be stupid like me-
