I love you sharing your connection to these movies. I gotta say though... it's hard to agree that Lethal Weapon is the beginning of the 80s action movies since it was released in 1987. There were so many more that came before: Escape from New York, Sharkey's Machine, 48Hrs, Blue Thunder, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai and Beverly Hills Cop... just to name a few and that was just before 1985.
