Thanks Thelma for the info on that plant…it looks like what we call the “shrimp” plant…great that it blooms thru the Xmas season…we can use it to add touches of red to our flower arrangements….red flowers are always in high demand then and are expensive too ! I do appreciate your channel, you keep us informed about our tropical growing conditions & plants.

Thanks for writing to us, we welcome your questions.
This plant has thick leaves so does not need constant misting during propagation. Just keep the media moist.
I haven't tried propagating the older section of the stem. It should root, but would take longer than the younger sections.
The best time to propagate is when the plant is actively growing , usually in spring. While most cuttings will root at other times, the success rate will be lower.
