It’s like a villain origin story theme.
I love it.
Idk I’m thinking it’s more like it’s played in their first villainous act.
Like I’m writing an X-men fanfic and it just inspired a line from my main character.
My main character is a autistic verbally impaired mutant whose ability is to use his mind to talk through electronic things like speakers but it sounds entirely like he isn’t using one. At the point of the story where the quote is said is 12 years old and recalling his mother getting killed by the Mutant Recapturing Division.
The government is trying to locate Magneto’s hostages. When suddenly out seemingly nowhere, a child’s voice says,
“You killed someone I loved. To you, she was just a mutant. No, not a mutant, a toy for you to break. To me, she was the one person caring for me. These hostages may be your mothers, but they’re my toys, and I told my new dad he could break them if our demands aren’t met,”.
Also I feel compelled to explain that in this fanfic’s universe, Magneto has an anarcho-communist/marxist view instead of his supremacist one.
Which is why he has hostages instead of outright killing all humans.
Ooh another line came out of my head.
This is in response to Charles’ whole non violence thing.
“They killed my mother, Charlie. You were able to hide your powers and they passed your family right by. What did they promise you if you dedicated yourself to non-violence. Your legs? Go over to the body part shop and get them fixed if you want to walk so badly,”.
like a good character turning bad, or becoming unholy.
