My Path to Glory with Nurgle has been set in the Gnarlwood since June 2021, so its really crazy awesome to suddenly get so much more lore about the setting. Previously you mostly had to make everything up yourselfes
The original description of the Astral Templars in the Realmgate campaign books mention how they were the only Stormhost to enter the Gnarlwood and leave victorious.
I'm very excited about this season of Warcry. Not only is it in a more accessible setting for all the factions but I think it is just a better visual setting for this kind of game. More tree huts and rope bridges!
My home away from home in the realms. A lot of my favorite factions come from this realm including the grand alliance of destruction and the beasts of chaos.
I can imagine a squadron of gyrocopters ranging ahead of the main force to try and map out a clear route to the Talaxis, only to be unable to even see the ground on account of all the flora
Another amazing vid :) very excited for this lore/set. Very appealing to me. My Path to glory Seraphon army is from Ghur , so my warband needs to go in and help my fellow scaly boys. Sure hope, because this is the perfect opportunity, GW makes a warcry seraphon warband for this edition.
Even since 1st edition the astral Templars where touted as having “not any survived the gnarlwood but defeated it” it’s awesome to finally get lore on it but it’s a bit disappointing that there isn’t more lore on the astral Templars in the gnarlwood
One year late, but just going to leave this here: Seraphon as a faction has GECKs, and the Gnarlwood is basically the AoS equivalent of Vault 87. Fight me
So we have a centralized McGuffin for beng present in the Gnarlwood, much like the McGuffin of Mordheim, yet GW have dropped the ball somehow as actual gaming in this environment seems to satisfy far less people than were satisfied by the terrain offered in V1. I admit there is an attractive novelty of gaming amongst the Deathworldesque MeatTree environment, but where are the random wandering monsters that came across our games in V1? This is the one place we should have expected GW to manufacture such encounters. The place where the Beasts of Chaos should be thriving. And instead both are taken away. Literally. It is rather difficult to come to terms with the adequate background and thematic beats they offered in this new setting, only for them to make the game less than it was. Which is a real shame since Warcry is such an phenomenal game. This has made me not look forward to what is coming in V3, since the original bespokes are being scrubbed existence by no longer being offered for sale. The original reason the game existed in the first place.

I love it! I like when GW throws a dart at the map and it lands on someones homebrew stuff XD

I never really got into Warcry when it first came out, this sounds like a perfect excuse to get my half-dozen Nighthaunt painted up and ready to go!
Heck yeah man!

7:09 I blamed the skaven
I wonder how this is viewed by the Gnarlwood subfaction of the Sylvaneth, especially considering they're the subfaction most focused on magic.
This is the first loreweek I've been a subscriber for, and I absolutely love it! Makes my day to wake up to a lore video.
Glad you enjoy it!
Loving the new bonesplitterz orruk. Thanks for the vid!
Yay!! Thank you! :)

I like thinking of the gnarl trees as like big Venus fly traps that eat people
I'm really excited for Warcry 2.0--especially since they kept so much intact, just tightening the screws sort to say.
Agreed!!!
Also thanks to moving out of the Eightpoints it seems likely that more none-Slaves to Darkness factions will be getting warbands.
really looking forward to more Warcry content, the new edition seems really fun
wish you the best Doug

"Get the Ur-Napalm!!!"
Siri, play Long Tall Sally! 😁
Really looking forward to this warcry might actually start getting into it and the rotmire creed looks awesome as.
I do like them quite a bit too!
@@2Tough missed you in animosity dude, but I’m glad your family had you are feeling better.
Love your videos, Doug! Thank you. 🙂

Setting sounds really good, very flexible! Definitely one I'd be happy to experience in game 👍👍
You and me both!
Very Made in Abyss setting

fantastic hot take
They Should really do a Seraphon Warband for Warcry.
