You're doing such an amazing job! Thank you so much for doing this and informing us IMGs. I had a question. As a 3rd yr international med student, I took step 1 but I'll apply for the 2023/24 match. Would step 1 score be used then or will the majority of AMGs have only pass results?
@@MalkeAsaad Thank you Dr. Asaad for your great contribution for all IMGs-I highly appreciate it. In regard to the question Id like to draw attention to the fact that in the 2024 match, most of the applicants would be F/P, wouldn't they? As far as I am concerned the class of 2024 will take the exam as F/P.
Is there a number of electives you should do before applying for research? Should all of the be hands-on? Do they discredit observerships? I am asking because It would be financially difficult to do many electives and do step 1
Very informative dr. Malke, thank you for your efforts. These videos have answred alot of questions floating in my mind. One last question, I heard that only one resident graduate in the 7th year and the rest of the residents are forced to leave through out the years, and USMG have greater advantage over IMG, is that true? I hope that my question get answered by dr. Panus
i have a big doubt i am from argentina and i am actually in third year of medical school but i feel so frustrated because in my frist year of medical school my school did not give me the documentation on time and they gave me administrative discharge and I had to wait a year to enter but it was not my fault there were some problems in my school with the management of documents and i did one semester and because of that i had to wait one year does that kill my possibilities to apply for neurosurgery i am really concerned?

Once you are in, there is no difference between USMG and IMG. The only difference will be your hard work and dedication.
thanks
Thank you for the information 🙂 ,
But I always had this question about What kind of Visa do we get to work with research programs?
we have a detailed video about visas
how much does research cost per month and how did you find research position
Most positions are unpaid, so you have to take care of your own living expenses.
To find research positions, feel free to reach out to my Instagram or Facebook
