Stalls on the Phi Scala 2 Light

- I wasn't comfortable stalling the Scala 2 Light on my own because I didn't know how this two liner with its higher aspect would react if I messed up. But under the guidance of Roger Stanford of Skyout Paragliding, I channelled the Sexy Bastard and stalls turned out to be a non event on the Phi Scala 2 Light. I love how smoothly the wing drops into backfly from a two stage stall. I hesitated on the exits a couple of times which resulted in tips being stuck on exit but otherwise great fun!
Very interesting. Sooo many thanks for sharing (I bought a scala 2 too) and my SIV day has been canceled. Your enter in the stall is almost like a 1 stage stall as we don't see the tips going backwards so fast on the first attempts. Really clean on the way out. I see you didn't have a wrap...
Pretty sure I had half a wrap as I usually fly that way
Nice work! I've not had a chance to fly the S2 yet but after 100+ hrs on the Allegro Light I'm interested in how they compare. Any thoughts?
S2L is super solid but less damped and moves around more requiring more active flying but more pitch stable at the same time. Really shines when flying into wind. Demo it if you have the opportunity. I wrote about it in depth on Medium.
1st was ur best n steadly got slipppprier … actually last wasnt bad.
Quick stall swing back just exit ie its in front flying so let it fly… pretty bloody good … they tell me its like OXAPLS… looks sweet
your coaching a few years ago before the first SIV esp the stall visualisation helped heaps. Thanks!
