This interview is absurdly good. I love that he shows vulnerability and adds a ton of nuance. There's always a person behind these nicknames. I'm rooting for Kjaerbye
no words , never read much about his story couse i only started watching pro cs when the boston major was going on ... but damn. Rough one. Great to hear about his experience and what happend , his pov and all. Just a great perspektive on how fast life comes and goes and all the ups and downs. He sounds so down to earth too ... Great video and massive thx to Kjaerbye for sharing this/giving this interview .. damn
You took the words out of my mouth. This is some real stuff and the last question's answer is some real life tips for young adults, I couldn't summarise all those as well as Markus did.
what an incredible interview, i got into CS esports after all of this so i don't know much about him, but it's so clear that he's grown so much. seems very genuine, i wish him the best truly
You can feel the regrets in his words and how he was trying to overcome his mental struggles. Hopefully he'll find his joy and make a good living out of it. Great interview. Good content.
Each pause and deep breath spoke volumes. I feel you Kjaerbye. You had a rough ride through your career, but you’re a part of the history of this game we love. A significant part. Thank you for everything. I hope you find your purpose. Much love 💛
amazing interview, thank you for humanizing him and pro players in general. The things he said were also very relatable to me, even though I'm not a pro player.
Thanks Kjaerbye for being the mastermind in creating the best team ever. You were part of the legacy of CS that will always remain in history and you should go to bed happy knowing you reached the top. Many active players will never even be close to what you did. At the time, you were put in a shit position and had not much choice, whatever people say, you did the right thing. Always did what you could out of the situation, and when put under pressure, you knew how to SHINE. It was you who carried Astralis to that first major trophy and deserved that MVP. Don't let the haters get to you because you were incredibly good. And all of that, while being so young. Such a hero and inspiration to real CS players. If you ever need inspiration watch that major final and see how he frag-by-frag earned that major trophy, and MVP. Thank you, Markus
Markus "Shackyaim" Kjærbye will always be one of my all time fav CS players, some players stick around like a overcast drizzle and then other come and go like lightning and thunder... Wish him all the best!
Also, Kjaerbyes' story really is one that speaks volumes when it comes to the fact that a lot of today's superstars are very, very young and still everyone expects adult and well thought out decisions from them. His story is the prime example of how pretty much one decisions in a way ruined his career, but also, since he obviously wasn't feeling well who knows how long it would have lasted in Astralis anyway.
Love his closing words. We were talking with a friend recently about somebody who bet on becoming a pro and didn't make it. Having a plan B is the best advice. Glad to see Kjaerbye back in the scene
Kjaerbye`s been my favourite player since i first watched cs back in 2015 and i`ve been supporting him and watching his games even after leaving Astralis. It`s awesome that he can talk about his regrets and mental health as openly as he did. Love to see how he is in a better shape mentally than in his pro years and i hope that he keeps improving and finally finds his happiness. Really nice interview.
Wow, what an amazing interview. He has such a calming aura and energy now. Amazing how well he has been reflecting on his cs endevours, and his personal life. I really appreciate the honesty and openness when it comes to the mental side of the game, and life in general.
Really good interview. Surprises me how well spoken he is. I really miss him in the scene. Was a big fan at the time. I remember he even replied to one of my tweets once, and I was thinking, why the hell is he bothering writing me? xD But he seemed super nice.
Wow amazing interview. He’s very relatable and I share alot of what he was feeling. Hit right in the emotions. Props for him on opening up. Always loved Astralis and didn’t know much about him, just knew his replacement brought them to glory, so life for him had to be hard.
I really enjoyed this insight, and it was very moving to watch, honestly. So I really hope you will find your trade in life, and enjoy the journey, Marcus, since that is all that matters. No goal is worth it, if the journey is taking the joy out of your life, for sure.
I turned gay for 35 minutes, even ignored freya’s presence lol. jokes aside, I hope markus can find his balance, doesn’t seem a happy guy. keep fighting!
Hahahahaha same, I saw him with a long hair, and a beard at the highlight photo of the video, and I said he became uglier wtf is that, but when the video started I said that this dude still handsome, and even better than his younger version lol

Wow wow wow wow.... I grew up as a huge Astralis fan. Kjaerbye won a major for them, nobody can hate on him after that.
Really good interview. Surprises me how well spoken he is. I really miss him in the scene. Was a big fan at the time. I remember he even replied to one of my tweets once, and I was thinking, why the hell is he bothering writing me? xD But he seemed super nice.
Great guy. I appreciate him talking about his struggles. Wishing him all the best.

as someone going through an existential crisis this hit quite close. Head up Markus you'll figure this out!
Props to kjaerbye for being so open about everything. Not an easy thing to do!
Nice interview thanks Freya, and HLTV
Excellent interview, pointed yet thoughtful. Great job Freya and gl Kjaerbye

This was great. Kjaerbye is so articulate
One of if not the biggest 'WHAT IFs' in CS history
He definitely is, together with Swag.
great interview!
He could be one of the best players with right mental and decisions in life. Just watched 2017 final and he was one reasons astralis won.
damn this could be an anime story… 🥲 great guy
It was so funny seeing him full tryharding in the Copenhagen showmatch
Awww... I've never seen Freya so nervous before 😉
fantastic interview
freya.. LEGEND
first. anyway, excited about this kind of content. love these.
They should've put some sort of desk or cabinet sort of thing in between them towards the back to cover up all those outlets, they're distracting 🤓
Very good interview! 👏❤
I wanna see the Glaive + Kjaerbye reuinion
Those wall outlets pokes my OCD.....
The problem is comparing and not staying in ur lane and doing you but you just compare everything
Thanks for telling him that he probably never realized that in 6 years
am i the only one who thinks he looks like helmut zemo from civil war?
kjaerbye is the nicklas bendtner of counter strike, so much talent wasted.
Stay in school kids.

Jones Brian Lewis Richard Taylor Paul
Kjaerbye: I DONT WANNA 😩
