10:17 I'm pretty sure not seeing the adversary was a deliberate creative choice. And I get why they went with that angle. It doesn't matter to Superman what kinda threat he's facing. What ONLY matters to him is being himself and doing the right thing. In Superman's eyes, be it Lex, Zod, or Darkseid, evil has no identity. It's irrelevant. All he cares about is saving the day, through sheer will. He refuses to give evil a chance to show its face whenever he can. He has one goal: Help and uplift as many as possible. Nothing else comes in the way. And in that sense, it is a phenomenal method to explore his psyche. Whether it's the external demons or his internal insecurities, he remains steadfast and continue fighting for truth, justice and a better tomorrow.
Tom King, seems to have a niche for making great mini series, I just feel that’s where he shines. I agree with you that sometimes it feels a lil dense but yet still have impact, well done review man. Superman needs more love from DC. So many more stories that should be collected.
I think this is kind of a character study story? Plus is a mini series, so I think this is one of a great short reading for new reader? Especially those who have basic understanding on DC superhero setting but not really get into Superman story, a lower reading investment some kind. Maybe also those who interest in space opera (me obviously)
This was my first Tom King book! Really enjoyable. Made me dive into Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Mister Miracle, and Rorschach, among others. So glad I did.
I wish i had the opportunity to read this book, it's literally impossible to get online unless u want to pay an abysmall price for this masterpiece, please DC do a reprint of this beauty 😭
@@comicsaredope Yeah i really do want that hc since that's the best way to read comics imo and that's how i mostly collect comics, hence it sucks to be a guy like me in this situation haha

It’s not as bad if you buy the single issues. People want crazy prices for that hardcover though.

It’ll get a deluxe HC. That’ll be the best way to read it.
