    Such a powerful cover of the original as to the song writer Reznor praised Cash's interpretation of the song for its "sincerity and meaning," going so far as to say "that song isn't mine anymore." The video was filmed in February 2003, Cash was 71 years old and had serious health problems. His frailty is clearly evident in the video. He died seven months later, on September 12; his wife, June Carter Cash, who is shown gazing at her husband in two sequences of the video, had died on May 15, only 3 months after filming this. The house where Cash's music video was shot, which was Cash's home for nearly 30 years, was destroyed in a fire on April 10, 2007. This cover is widely considered as one of his best works.

      @@TheSpeakEasyLounge You’re most welcome! Yes the raw emotion exhibited in the performance gets me every time I see it. He sure had his demons as many stars, past and present, do. Just to be able to take another artists work and reflect on his own life through their words and get his anguish out like he did is amazing. True testament to the Man in Black.

    Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails wrote a song if the self-loathing an addict might go through on the way down that dark spiral that can lead to self destruction.
    Johnny took those words and changed only one but turned it into a regret-filled look back over their life of someone approaching death.
    The songs seem lijebtwo differnt songs yet are one (the word change: NIN sang about wearing a crown if shit upon a liar's chair, Johnny spoke of a crown of thorns upon the liar's chair).

    Good, bad, or indifferent we are the sum total of our life's experiences. Change one you alter the whole. I learned at a young age to cherish my pain in equal measure to my joy. For to truly know one, you must know the other. We are all our own worst enemy. I to have known jail, drugs, pills, the needle, women. I've also been half way around the world and back again. I've seen and done things most can only dream of. With all that said I regret ... Nothing. Would change.....nothing!!

    Fortunately, all through Johnny Cash‘s life he knew of both the mercy and severity of God. He was a firm believer in that reality and the imagery he showed, as well as many of his other songs, testify that he knew of Christ’s redeeming grace and salvation, something that comes from no other source, regardless of how exclusive that sounds. That is an absolutely inescapable and essential part of both he and June’s life.
    We are not random bags of “Stardust“ banging around in the universe that has no purpose. “In the beginning God…“ Johnny is at peace now, because he always came back to that reality.
    Thanks for the really good reaction.

I believe he knows now that there’s never been a person born who was “good enough“ to merit heaven. Like the lyrics he and June sang many times,
      “Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me!”

      There were no plans for June to be part of the video, she just happened to come down stairs to check on Johnny because she was concerned he was working too hard given his poor health. The film crew asked her if they could use the shot with her appearance and she agreed, but it was totally unrehearsed and that look of concern was genuine. Don't know why but it wouldn't let me reply to your comment on Ring of Fire, lol, so figured I'd do it over here. I've lucked out so far and only had about 3 videos blocked entirely, none of which have actually been settled conclusively in either direction yet. So, they're still in the phase of letting me show it, past the 48 hour mark but before the 30 day mark. That said, I didn't know the part about the effect that has on the algorithm, so that's good to know. I think I lucked out, since one of them is Home Free "Blue Ain't Your Color," which seems to be overlooked a lot (or people just don't dispute when it's blocked) and once it was visible, I started getting good views on it cuz people love that video so much. As for this song, it makes me full on sob, so played it on mute for now since I have to record today, lol. Will come back and actually listen when I can cry freely without worrying about being blotchy and puffy on camera.

      Just FYI- incase you didn't know. Adding 3 #hastags directly after your title in the description (which should be the same as your title with as many keywords as you can make fit and still make sense) will get it pushed out a lot more. Since you also react, I would use the following #reaction #nameofartist #nameofsong. There are a bunch of things you can do. I pay for VidIQ, and it boosts my videos too and helps with SEO Scores. Trying to get as many tags in (you need at least 20 to get a 5/5 on keyword tags) you can use up to 500 characters, VidIQ gives you suggestions and you can get Ranked Keywords (They show up in blue) beside the value number in tags, that also helps a lot. If you decide at some point to use VidIQ, I have an affiliate link I can share with you and if you use it, I will get a % commission. I pay $49 a month, but that is for 2 channels. I think it's around $30 a month for one channel. It is so worth the investment. I'd be happy to show you on Discord sometime. Just let me know. But try the hastags, if you haven't already! As for copyright, dispute everything! on fair use, you may win, may not, but it's worth a try and never hurts your channel! Once you become monetized it will make a huge difference and you can go back and dispute older videos.

    • @NerdvanaReactions
      @NerdvanaReactions 2 года назад +1

      @@TheSpeakEasyLounge I'll definitely work on the tags, but anything paid is a non-option at this point. I'm on a fixed income, so if I build my subscriber base a little slower, that's okay. I'll definitely keep in mind what you said about going back and disputing everything eventually. So far I had only done it on blocked videos, not ones with just a copyright claim. I'm still in the process of setting up a Discord server for my channel, and figure I'll probably release that and my Patreon around the same time, once I've bulked up some exclusive content. Do you use OBS studios for your reactions? If so, there are a couple of tutorials that can help you with the settings to make sure it optimized. I'm not sure what you're currently using, but it was really distorted on your "Opera 2" video. By the way, wasn't that amazing? Have a good night! Thanks for coming to the live! Actually, Since you're NOT monetized yet, I wouldn't dispute the claims yet. Wait until you are, then you will actually benefit from it. Right now as long as they're not blocked, it's not hurting anything. Just some thoughts.
