It is tragedy that izzy, creative force behind guns left the band. You cant blame the guy. He got souber, they didnt. Everyone that had addiction problem , knows that you cant be around people that do drugs. You just see mirror of yourself in your friends. And that is killing you. Not to mention Best rhithm guitar player in rock bands. If keith Richards and ronnie wood had a child, izzy would be it. You can see how many albums they made when he s gone. zero. Spagety incident is not An album. Chinese democracy it took what 10 years to make. And besides axl voice everything from the musical point of view is disaster. No feeling in guitars, only stiffness.
@@novak9778he quit because Axl was hours late to every show, causing riots, and wanted to demote Izzy paying him less. Why does everyone think to be a musician is to be a professional druzg user or something? As if life centered around druzg. It doesn’t center around it any more than a young mother and valium or a college student and alcohol.

I was at this show. Skid Row opened and we had to wait 2 hrs for axel. If they sold beer there it would have helped.

@@daviddorrian5349 It was 1988 my friend and i was 17 years old lol yeah im an old man. I honestly think Axl was the only sober person onstage and im pretty sure Izzy had a puke bucket by the drum riser but they just commanded that smaller stage. I saw them a couple times later during the illusion tour and it just didn't compare in my opinion, Axl just ran around out of breath too much.

I often think that with Axl, I'm like just chill and concentrate on getting those vocals bang on. But in the same breath it was amazing the engery of the gigs.
But going back to it. You are one of the lucky ones to see them on a small stage. It seems they blow up insanely quick!
I'm a 1994 baby and in my last year of primary school (2005) guns n roses were the first band I ever lieten to and have loved them ever since. I'm a guitar player now. I do it as living and slash was my first major influence. If you care, watch my latest short I've uploaded. You'll hear some slash in my bit of improvisation.

This was 2 days before I saw them at the Capital Center in Landover Maryland. Skid Row did an encore. The concert ended up ending early due to a curfew, so didn't get to hear my favorite song, Paradise City, which I believe was going to be there closing song in an encore. that was a bummer.

Axl sounds awful. He makes the audience wait for two hours and for what? The band is equally as bad. Shambolic. Slash is meandering probably too high. You can’t even hear the bass. Matt as a drummer didn’t fit guns.
